1 Solomon ni Isarel kacuenaw hoi miphun a lû lah la kaawmnaw hai Isarel catoun imthungkhu tongpanaw hah Devit khopui Zion hoi Bawipa thingkong kâkayawt hanelah Jerusalem e siangpahrang Solomon koevah ceikhai hanelah a pâkhueng awh.
Then, did Solomon call together the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, chiefs of the fathers of the sons of Israel, unto King Solomon in Jerusalem, —that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, out of the city of David, the same is Zion.
2 Hatdawkvah, Isarelnaw pueng teh, Ethanim thapa yung sari nah, pawi dawk siangpahrang Solomon koevah a kamkhueng awh.
So all the men of Israel came together unto King Solomon, in the month of steady flowings, at the festival, —the same is the seventh month.
3 Isarel kacuenaw pueng ni a tho awh teh, vaihmanaw ni BAWIPA thingkong hah a la awh.
And all the elders of Israel came in, —and the priests took up the ark;
4 BAWIPA e thingkong teh, kamkhuengnae hoi bawknae rim dawk e kathounge hlaamnaw pueng hah a la awh teh, vaihma hoi Levihnaw ni a ceikhai awh.
and they brought up the ark of Yahweh, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the hallowed vessels that were in the tent, —yea, the priests and the Levites, did bring them up.
5 Siangpahrang Solomon hoi ahni koe kamkhuengnaw Isarel maya pueng hah thingkong hmalah ao awh teh, tu hoi maitotan apap lawi touklek thai hoeh e hoi panue thai hoeh totouh thuengnae hah a sak awh.
And, King Solomon, and all the assembly of Israel who had assembled themselves unto him, were with him, before the ark, —sacrificing sheep and oxen, which could neither be recorded nor counted, for multitude.
6 Hahoi vaihmanaw ni, Bawipa lawkkam thingkong a onae hmuen bawkim thung athung patuen hmuen kathoung thung vah, cherubim a rathei kadai e rahim vah hmuen kathoungpounge hmuen koe a kâenkhai awh.
So the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh into its place, into the shrine of the house, into the holy of holies, —under the wings of the cherubim.
7 Cherubim ni a rathei kahni touh hah thingkong onae lathueng a kadai teh, cherubim ni thingkong hoi kâkayawtnae acung hah a ramuk.
For, the cherubim, were spreading forth their two wings, over the place of the ark, —and the cherubim made a covering over the ark and over the staves thereof, above.
8 Kâkayawtnae acung a saw poung dawkvah, athung patuen hmuen kathoung koehoi a kâhmu thai han eiteh, alawilah hoi kâhmawt thai hoeh. Sahnin totouh hawvah ao.
And they drew out the staves, and the heads of the staves were seen from the holy place, in front of the shrine, although they were not seen on the outside, —and they have remained there until this day.
9 Izip ram hoi a tâco awh teh, BAWIPA ni Isarel catounnaw koe lawkkamnae a sak navah, Mosi ni Horeb mon dawk e lungphen kahni touh a la e hloilah thingkong thung banghai awm hoeh.
There was nothing in the ark, save the two tables of stone, which Moses deposited there in Horeb, —the tables of the covenant which Yahweh solemnised with the sons of Israel, when they came forth out of the land of Egypt.
10 Hahoi vaihmanaw hmuen kathoung koehoi a tâco awh toteh, BAWIPA im teh tâmai muen a kawi.
And so it was, when the priests came forth out of the holy place, that, a cloud, filled the house of Yahweh;
11 Tâmai kecu dawk vaihma ni thaw kahawicalah tawk thai hoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA bawilennae hoi BAWIPA im muen akawi.
so that the priests could not stand to minister, because of the cloud, —for, the glory of Yahweh, filled, the house of Yahweh.
12 Solomon ni lawk a dei e teh, kathapoung e tâmai dawk ka o han telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
Then, said Solomon, —Yahweh, said, that he would make his habitation in thick gloom:
13 A yungyoe na onae hmuen tawmrasang e im teh, ka sak pouh katang toe telah a ti.
I have, built, a house as a high abode for thee, —A settled place for thee to abide in, for ages.
14 Kamkhueng e Isarelnaw pueng ni a kangdue awh teh, siangpahrang ni a hnuklah a kamlang teh. ka kamkhueng e Isarelnaw pueng hah yawhawi a poe.
And the king turned about his face, and blessed all the convocation of Israel, —while all the convocation of Israel was standing;
15 Ahni ni Isarel BAWIPA Cathut, apa Devit koevah, amae pahni dawk hoi roeroe vah, Izip ram hoi ka tami Isarel ka tâcokhai nah hnin hoi Isarel miphunnaw thung dawk nâ lahai ka min ao nahane im sak hanlah rawi boihoeh.
and he said—Blessed, be Yahweh, God of Israel, who spake with his mouth, unto David my father, —that which with his hand he hath fulfilled, saying: —
16 Hatei ka tami Isarel kaukkung hanlah, Devit heh ka rawi e doeh telah kadeikung ama kut dawk hoi roeroe ka kuepsakkung teh pholen lah awm seh.
Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel, out of Egypt, I had chosen no city, out of all the tribes of Israel, for building a house, where my Name might be, —but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my Name should be there, and I have chosen David, to be over my people Israel:
17 Apa Devit niyah Isarel BAWIPA min lahoi im sak hanlah a lungthung hoi pou a noe.
And so it came to pass, that it was near the heart of David my father, —to build a house for the Name of Yahweh, God of Israel.
18 Hatei BAWIPA ni apa Devit koevah, na lungthin hoi ka min hanlah im sak hane ouk na noe e lungthin na tawn e hah ahawi.
Then said Yahweh unto David my father, Because it was near thy heart to build a house for my Name, thou didst well that it was near thy heart;
19 Hatei, nang ni teh im na sak mahoeh. Hatei, na capa nange cati dawk hoi ka tâcawt e ni ka min hanlah im teh a sak han telah ati toe.
Only, thou thyself, must not build the house, —but, thine own son who hath proceeded out of thy loins, he, shall build the house, for my Name.
20 BAWIPA ni a kam tangcoung e hah a caksak teh, BAWIPA e a kam e patetlah apa Devit e hmuen teh ka coe teh, Isarel bawitungkhung dawk ka tahung teh, Isarel BAWIPA Cathut min hanlah, im teh ka sak toe.
So then Yahweh hath established his word which he spake, —and I have been raised up in the room of David my father, and have taken my seat upon the throne of Israel, as spake Yahweh, and have built the house for the Name of Yahweh, God of Israel;
21 Hawvah, thingkong o nahane hmuen lah ka pouk teh, hawvah, Izip ram hoi a tâcokhai navah, mintoenaw koe a kam e BAWIPA lawkkam ao telah a ti.
and have appointed there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of Yahweh, —which he solemnised with our fathers, when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt.
22 Solomon teh BAWIPA koe thuengnae khoungroe hmalah vah, kamkhueng e Isarelnaw pueng ni a hmunae koe a kangdue teh, kalvan lah a kut hah a dâw teh,
And Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh, in the presence of all the convocation of Israel, —and spread forth his hands towards the heavens;
23 Isarel BAWIPA Cathut kalvan hai thoseh, talai thung hai thoseh, a lungthin abuemlah na hmalah kahawicalah kaawm e naw koevah, lawkkam hoi pahrennae kakuepsakkung nang patet lae Cathut awm hoeh.
and said—O Yahweh, God of Israel! Not like thee, is there a God, in the heavens above, or upon the earth beneath, —keeping Covenant and Lovingkindness for thy servants who are walking before thee, with all their heart;
24 Na san apa Devit koevah, lawk na kam e hah na pahnim hoeh teh, na pahni hoi na dei e hah na kut hoi na kuepsak. Sahnin totouh nama paroup lah na o.
who hast kept for thy servant David my father, that which thou didst promise him, —in that thou didst promise with thy mouth, and, with thy hand, hast fulfilled, as it is this day.
25 Hatdawkvah, Isarel BAWIPA Cathut, na san apa Devit koevah, na capanaw ni a hringnae nuencang kâhruetcuet teh, ka mithmu vah, hring awh pawiteh, ka hmaitung vah Isarel bawitungkhung dawk ka tahung hane vout mahoeh na ti telah na kam e hah kuep sak haw.
Now, therefore, O Yahweh, God of Israel, keep thou for thy servant David my father, that which thou didst promise him, saying, There shall not be cut off to thee a man from before me, to sit upon the throne of Israel, —if only, thy sons take heed to their way, by walking before me, as thou hast walked before me.
26 Oe Isarel Cathut, na san Devit koevah na dei e kuep sak haw telah ka ratoum.
Now, therefore, O God of Israel, —verified be thy word, I pray thee, which thou didst speak to thy servant, David my father.
27 Hatei Cathut nang teh, talai van kho na ka sak han tangngak na maw. Khenhaw, kalvan hoi kalvannaw dawk patenghai na ka cawng hoeh e, hete ka sak e im dawkvah, banghloimaw cawng laipalah hoe ao han vai.
But, in very deed, will God dwell, upon the earth? Lo! the heaven, yea the heaven of heavens, cannot contain thee, how much less this house which I have built?
28 Hatei Oe BAWIPA Cathut, sahnin vah na san ni na kaw e hoi ka ratoumnae hoi ka dei e na thai pouh haw. Na san ni ratoumnae hoi ka heinae hah na thai pouh haw.
Yet wilt thou turn unto the prayer of thy servant, and unto his supplication, O Yahweh my God, —to hearken unto the cry, and unto the prayer, wherewith thy servant doth pray before thee to-day;
29 Hete hmuen koe ka min a kamtue han na tie patetlah, hete hmuen hoi hete impui hah karum khodai pou khen nateh, na san ni hete hmuen koe ka ratoum e lawk hah na thai pouh haw.
that thine eye may be opened toward this house, night and day, toward the place of which thou hast said, My Name shall be, there; hearkening unto the prayer which thy servant shall offer toward this place.
30 Na san hoi na tami Isarelnaw ni hete hmuen koelah kangvawi haw. A ratoum awh toteh a hei awh e hah thai pouh haw.
Wilt, thou, therefore, hearken unto the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, whensoever they shall pray toward this place, —yea wilt, thou thyself, hear, in thine own dwelling-place, in the heavens, and, when thou hearest, then wilt thou forgive?
31 Tami bang patet ni hai a imrinaw koe yon a sak awh toteh, thama lahoi lawk hah kam sak pawiteh, hete na bawkim khoungroe hmalah a tho hoi lawk a kam toteh,
When a man shall sin against his neighbour, and there shall be taken up against him an oath, to put him on oath, —and he shall come in and swear before thine altar, in this house,
32 Kalvan lahoi na thai pouh nateh, tami kathoungnaw e tawksaknae teh amamae lû dawk letlang phat sak haw. Tami kalan teh, a lannae patetlah yonpen laipalah na san heh lawkceng pouh.
then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, and act, and judge thy servants, condemning the lawless, by setting his way upon his own head, —and justifying the righteous, by giving to him, according to his righteousness?
33 Na tami Isarelnaw ni nang taranlahoi yonnae a sak awh kecu, a tarannaw ni tâ awh pawiteh, nang koe a kamlang awh teh, na min hah a pâpho awh teh, hete bawkim dawk ratoum awh pawiteh, hno a hei awh navah,
When thy people Israel are smitten before an enemy, because they have been sinning against thee, —and they turn again unto thee, and confess thy Name, and pray and make supplication unto thee, in this house,
34 Kalvan hoi thai pouh nateh, na tami Isarelnaw e yonnae hah ngaithoum haw. A na mintoenaw koe na poe e ram lah bout bankhai haw.
then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them back unto the soil, which thou gavest unto their fathers?
35 Nang taranlahoi yonnae sak kecu dawk kalvan hah a pâbing, kho a rak hoeh toteh, het hmuen koe kangvawi a ratoum teh, na min a pâpho teh, a pataw nahan na poe e thung hoi a yonnae kamlang takhai pawiteh,
When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have been sinning against thee, —and they shall pray toward this place, and confess thy Name, and, from their sin, shall return, because thou hast been afflicting them,
36 Kalvan hoi thai pouh nateh, a cei nahane lam kalan pâtu nateh, râw lah na poe e ram dawk kho a rak thai nahanlah na san Isarelnaw e yonnae ngaithoum pouh haw.
then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou mayest teach them the good way, wherein they should walk, —and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people, for an inheritance?
37 Ram dawk takang a tho teh, lacik thoseh, kehramnae thoseh, pawknae thoseh, samtong thoseh, ahriai thoseh awm boilah, a taran ni a khopui longkha koehoi koe kalup awh pawiteh, patawnae lacik aphunphun a pha toteh,
When there shall be, famine, in the land, when there shall be, pestilence, when there shall be, blasting, mildew locust, caterpillar, when their enemy shall besiege them in one of their own gates, —whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness;
38 Tami bangpatet ni hai ratoum hoi kâheinae a sak nakunghai, na tami Isarelnaw pueng ni, amae a lungthin hoi lacik ao e hah a panue awh teh, hete bawkim koe kangvawi hoi a kut a dâw awh toteh,
any prayer, any supplication which, any son of earth, may have, of all thy people Israel, —who will certainly know every man the plague of his own heart, and so he shall spread abroad his hands towards this house,
39 Na onae hmuen kalvan hoi thai pouh haw. Ngaithoum haw. Kâroe haw. Lungthin na kapanuekkung nang ni a hringnae hoi kamcu e hah, poe haw. Bangkongtetpawiteh, nang dueng doeh tami lungthin na kapanuekkung lah na o.
then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, in the settled place of thine abode, and forgive and act, and give unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou wilt know, —for, thou thyself alone, knowest the heart of all the sons of men;
40 A mintoenaw na poe e ram dawk hoi nang na taki nahanlah,
to the end they may revere thee, all the days which they do live, upon the face of the soil, —which thou gavest unto our fathers?
41 Hothloilah, na tami Isarel lah kaawm hoeh e miphun alouke na min kecu ram ahlanae koehoi kathonaw kong dawk,
Moreover also, unto the stranger, who is, not of thy people Israel, —but hath come in out of a far country, for the sake of thy Name, —
42 Na lentoenae na min hoi thaonae kut hoi na kut na dâwnae kong hah a panue awh han doeh. Hotnaw ni hai hete bawkim dawk a ratoum awh toteh,
(for they will certainly hear of thy great Name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched-out arm, —and so will come in and pray towards this house),
43 Na onae hmuen kalvan hoi thai pouh haw. Na tami Isarelnaw patetlah talai miphun tangkuem ni na min a panue hoi nang barilawa na ta awh teh, hete ka sak e bawkim heh na min lahoi kaw e doeh ti a panue thai awh nahan, nang koe ka kâhet e miphun ni a hei awh e naw pueng hah sak pouh haw.
wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, the settled place of thine abode, and act, according to all for which, the stranger, shall cry unto thee, —to the end that all the peoples of the earth may truly know thy Name, so as to revere thee, like thy people Israel, and to know that, thine own Name, hath been given unto this house, which I have built?
44 Na taminaw ni a tarantuk han na tha awhnae koe a cei awh toteh na rawi e khopui koe kangvawi hoi na min hanlah sak e bawkim koe kangvawi hoi BAWIPA koe a ratoum awh toteh,
When thy people go forth to war against their enemy, whithersoever thou mayest send them, —and shall pray unto Yahweh, in the direction of the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy Name,
45 A ratoumnae hoi a kâheinae hah kalvan hoi na thai pouh haw. A lawknaw hah pouk pouh haw.
then wilt thou hear, in the heavens, their prayer and their supplication, —and maintain their cause?
46 Na tak dawk yonnae a sak awh teh, bangtelamaw yonnae ka sak hoeh e apihai awm hoeh bo. Ahnimouh koe na lungkhuek teh, a taran kut dawk na poe teh ahlanae koe thoseh, a hnainae koe thoseh, a tarannaw ni san lah man pawiteh,
When they sin against thee—for there is, no son of earth, that sinneth not, and thou shalt be angry with them, and deliver them up before an enemy, —who shall carry them away as their captives, into the land of the enemy, far or near;
47 San lah a ceikhainae ram dawk a lung a ang awh teh, pan a kângai awh teh, yonnae koe ka sak awh toe, kalan hoeh e hno hoi, puenghoi yonnae ka sak awh toe titeh, san lah a hrawinae hmuen koehoi kâhet awh pawiteh,
and they come back to their right mind, in the land whither they have been taken captive, —and so turn and make supplication unto thee, in the land of their captors, saying, We have sinned and done perversely, we have been lawless;
48 A taran lah kahrawikungnaw e ram hoi a lungthin katang hoi a hringnae katang hoi nang koelah kangvawi hoi a na mintoenaw koevah, na poe e hoi na rawi e khopui hoi nang han ka sak e bawkim koe lah kangvawi laihoi nang koe a ratoum awh toteh,
and so they turn unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, who have carried them away captive, —and pray unto thee in the direction of their own land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy Name,
49 A ratoumnae hoi a kâheinae hah kalvan na onae koehoi thai pouh nateh a lawknaw hah pouk pouh haw.
then wilt thou hearken in the heavens, the settled place of thine abode, unto their prayer, and unto their supplication, —and maintain their cause;
50 San lah kamankungnaw ni a pahren awh thai nahan, na hmalah pahren sak awh haw. Nang koe yonnae kasaknaw hoi na hmalah, kâtapoenae kong dawk na taminaw e kâtapoenae naw pueng hah ngaithoum haw.
and grant forgiveness to thy people, who have sinned against thee, even as to all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, —and grant them compassion before their captors, so that they may have compassion upon them;
51 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh teh, na taminaw teh Izip ram hoi sumthawngnae tahmanghmai thung hoi na tâco sak e naw doeh.
because, thy people and thine inheritance, they are, —whom thou didst bring forth out of Egypt, out of the midst of the smelting-pot of iron;
52 Na kaw awh toteh, na thai pouh nahanelah, na san ni a kâheinae hai na tami Isarel ni a kâheinae koe lah, na mit na ta thai nahan,
that thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, —to hearken unto them, in all their crying unto thee;
53 Bangtelane Oe Bawipa Jehovah, ka na mintoenaw Izip ram hoi na tâcokhai navah, na san Mosi hno lahoi na dei tangcoung e patetlah miphunnaw pueng thung hoi na râw lah na kapek telah a ti.
because, thou thyself, didst separate them unto thee, for an inheritance, out of all the peoples of the earth, —as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest forth our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord Yahweh.
54 Solomon ni BAWIPA koevah ratoumnae hoi a kâheinae naw pueng koung a dei hnukkhu, BAWIPA e thuengnae khoungroe koelah a khokpakhu a cuengkhuem teh, kalvan lah kut a dâwnae koehoi a thaw.
And it came to pass, when Solomon had made an end of praying unto Yahweh all this prayer and supplication, that he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees, with his hands outspread to the heavens;
55 A kangdue teh lawk kacaipoung lahoi,
and stood and blessed all the convocation of Israel, —with a loud voice, saying:
56 a lawkkam patetlah a tami Isarelnaw hanlah, kâhatnae kapoekung BAWIPA teh pholen lah awm naseh. A san Mosi hno lahoi kahawi e lawkkamnaw pueng hah, lawklung buet touh hai phen hoeh.
Blessed, be Yahweh, who hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised, —there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
57 Maimae BAWIPA ka Cathut teh, mintoenaw koevah ao e patetlah maimouh koehai awm naseh. Maimanaw hah khoeroe na pahnawt hanh naseh.
Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers, —let him not leave us, nor forsake us;
58 A lamnaw pueng tarawi hane hoi mintoenaw koe kâ a poe tangcoung e patetlah kâpoelawknaw, phunglamnaw hoi, lawkcengnaenaw dâw pouh hanlah, maimae lungthin ama koe lah a kangvawi thai nahan,
but bow our heart unto himself, —to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his regulations, which he commanded our fathers.
59 Cathut Jehovah lah a onae, alouke awm hoeh tie miphun pueng ni a panue thai awh nahan, a san kong dawk thoseh,
And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before Yahweh, be near unto Yahweh our God, day and night, —that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as any need ariseth:
60 A tami Isarelnaw kong dawk thoseh, a panki e patetlah hnin touh hoi hnin touh a kâroe thai nahan, hete ka dei e naw pueng hah, BAWIPA hmalah ka kâhei e pueng hah karum khodai pouk laipalah, BAWIPA Cathut hmalah pou kangning lawiseh.
To the end that all the peoples of the earth may know, that, Yahweh, is God, —there is none else.
61 Hatdawkvah, sahnin e na o e boiboelah, a phunglawknaw dawk na hring awh teh, kâpoelawknaw tarawi hane hoi, maimae BAWIPA Cathut koe na lungthin hah yuemkamcu lah awm seh telah Isarelnaw pueng hah yawhawinae a poe.
So shall your heart be sound with Yahweh our God, —to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
62 Siangpahrang hoi Isarelnaw pueng ni BAWIPA e hmalah sathei thuengnae hah a poe awh.
And, the king, and all Israel with him, were offering sacrifice before Yahweh.
63 Solomon ni BAWIPA hanelah a poe e roum thuengnae maitotan 22, 000 hoi, tu 120, 000 touh a poe awh. Hottelah siangpahrang hoi Isarelnaw pueng ni BAWIPA e im dawk a poe awh.
So Solomon offered as a sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he offered unto Yahweh—Oxen, two and twenty thousand, and Sheep, a hundred and twenty thousand, —Thus did, the king and all the sons of Israel, dedicate the house of Yahweh.
64 Hat hnin vah, siangpahrang ni BAWIPA im e a thongma hah a thoung sak. Hawvah, hmaisawi thuengnae hoi tavai thuengnae e hoi, roum thuengnae satui hah a poe awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA e hmalah rahum khoungroe hah kapoenaw hanelah a thoungca.
On that day, did the king hallow the middle of the court, that was before the house of Yahweh, —for he offered there the ascending-sacrifice, and the meal-offering, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings, because, the altar of bronze that was before Yahweh, was too small to receive the ascending-sacrifice and the meal-offering, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings.
65 Hatnavah, Solomon hoi Isarelnaw pueng kamkhueng e ni Hamath kho kâennae koehoi, Izip ram palang totouh, kaawm e naw hah, maimae BAWIPA hmalah hnin 7 touh hoi hnin 7 kâhlat lah hnin 14 touh thung pawi a sak awh.
And Solomon made, at that time, a festival—and all Israel with him—a great convocation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the ravine of Egypt, before Yahweh our God, seven days, and seven days, —fourteen days.
66 Hnin 8 hnin vah tamimaya teh a ban sak awh. Siangpahrang teh ahnimouh ni yawhawi a poe awh teh, BAWIPA ni a san Devit hoi a tami Isarelnaw hanelah, a sak e ahawinae naw kecu dawk lungthin nawmnae hoi, lunghawinae hoi, amamae rim dawk a cei awh.
And on the eighth day, he sent the people away, and they blessed the king, —and departed to their homes, rejoicing and glad of heart, over all the goodness which Yahweh had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
