1 Jeroboam teh hmuitui hmaisawi hanelah khoungroe teng a kangdue navah, Cathut e tami buet touh teh Bawipa e lawk patetlah Judah ram lahoi Bethel kho vah a tho.
And beholde, there came a man of God out of Iudah (by the commandement of the Lord) vnto Beth-el, and Ieroboam stoode by the altar to offer incense.
2 BAWIPA e lawk patetlah khoungroe koe hram laihoi, Oe khoungroe, khoungroe, BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei. Devit imthung dawk e Josiah a min kâphung e a khe han. Nange lathueng hmuitui hmaisawi vaiteh, hmuen rasang koe vaihma thaw katawknaw hah ahni ni na lathueng thuengnae a thueng vaiteh, tami kadout e hrunaw hah hmai a sawi han ati telah ati.
And he cryed against the altar by the comandement of the Lord, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the Lord, Beholde, a child shalbe borne vnto the house of Dauid, Iosiah by name, and vpon thee shall he sacrifice the Priestes of the hie places that burne incense vpon thee, and they shall burne mens bones vpon thee.
3 Hote hnin dawkvah, mitnoutnae a poe teh, BAWIPA ni a dei e mitnoutnae hateh, khoungroe a tip roeroe han. Khoungroe e van kaawm e hraba hah koung a yut han telah ati.
And he gaue a signe the same time, saying, This is the signe, that the Lord hath spoken, Behold, the altar shall rent, and the ashes that are vpon it, shall fall out.
4 Hottelah Cathut e tami ni, Bethel kho e khoungroe dawk a hram e hah Jeroboam siangpahrang ni a thai toteh, khoungroe dawk hoi a kut a kâyap teh man awh telah ati. A man nahanlah a kâyap e kut hah a kamkhuen teh a kut bout lat thai hoeh toe.
And when the King had heard the saying of the man of God, which he had cryed against the altar in Beth-el, Ieroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, Lay holde on him: but his hande which he put foorth against him, dryed vp, and he could not pull it in againe to him.
5 Cathut e tami ni BAWIPA e a lawk a poe e patetlah mitnoutnae hoi kâvan lah khoungroe a tip teh, hraba hai khoungroe dawk hoi he a yut.
The altar also claue asunder, and the ashes fell out from the altar, according to the signe, which the man of God had giuen by the commandement of the Lord.
6 Siangpahrang ni ka kut bout a dam thai nahanelah kai hane ratoum nateh, na BAWIPA Cathut e hmalah, pahrennae het haw atipouh. Cathut e tami ni BAWIPA koe a hei pouh navah, siangpahrang e kut teh bout a dam. Ahmaloe e boiboe lah bout ao.
Then the King answered, and saide vnto the man of God, I beseeche thee, pray vnto ye Lord thy God, and make intercession for me, that mine hand may bee restored vnto me. And the man of God besought the Lord, and the Kings hand was restored, and became as it was afore.
7 Siangpahrang ni Cathut e tami koe, kai koe tho nateh na thapatho, tawkphu na poe han telah atipouh.
Then the King sayde vnto the man of God, Come home with mee, that thou mayest dyne, and I will giue thee a reward.
8 Cathut e tami ni siangpahrang koevah, na im tangawn na ka poe nakunghai nang koe ka tho mahoeh. Hete hmuen dawk vaiyei hoi tui hai ka net mahoeh.
But the man of God saide vnto the King, If thou wouldest giue me halfe thine house, I would not goe in with thee, neither woulde I eate bread nor drinke water in this place.
9 BAWIPA e lawk ni vaiyei cat hanh, tui hai net hanh. Na thonae lam dawk hoi ban han telah kai koe lawk na poe toe telah siangpahrang koe a dei pouh.
For so was it charged mee by the worde of the Lord, saying, Eate no bread nor drinke water, nor turne againe by the same way that thou camest.
10 Bethel lam lahoi a thonae lam hah a roun teh, alouke lae lam lahoi a ban.
So he went another way and returned not by the way that he came to Beth-el.
11 Hatnae tueng dawkvah, Bethel kho vah, profet matawng buet touh ao. A capanaw a tho awh teh, hot hnin vah Cathut tami ni Bethel kho a sak e pueng hah a dei pouh. Siangpahrang koe a dei pouh e hai a na pa koe a dei pouh.
And an olde Prophet dwelt in Beth-el, and his sonnes came and tolde him all ye woorkes, that the man of God had done that day in Beth-el, and the wordes which he had spoken vnto the King, tolde they their father.
12 Judah ram lahoi ka tho e Cathut e tami teh, na lae lam dawk hoi maw a cei tie a panue awh dawkvah, a na pa ni ahni na lae lam dawk hoi maw a cei tie a pacei.
And their father sayde vnto them, What way went he? and his sonnes shewed him what waye the man of God went, which came from Iudah.
13 A capanaw koe vah la hah, hni padoun haw ati e patetlah a canaw ni hni a padoun pouh teh a kâcui.
And hee saide vnto his sonnes, Saddle mee the asse. Who sadled him the asse, and hee rode thereon,
14 Cathut e tami hah a pâlei. Kathen e rahim a tahung e a hmu nah nang teh Judah ram lahoi na ka tho e Cathut e tami maw telah a pacei. Oe kai doeh atipouh.
And went after the man of God, and found him sitting vnder an oke: and he saide vnto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Iudah? And he sayd, Yea.
15 Profet ni kai hoi rei cei roi han, ka im totouh kâbang nateh, vaiyei hai cat loe telah a coun.
Then he said vnto him, Come home with me, and eate bread.
16 Kai teh nang hoi rei ka cet mahoeh. Na im dawk ka kâen mahoeh. Hie hmuen dawk vaiyei ka cat mahoeh, tui hai ka net mahoeh.
But he answered, I may not returne with thee, nor go in with thee, neither wil I eate bread nor drinke water with thee in this place.
17 BAWIPA ni hote a hmuen koe, vaiyei cat hanh, tui net hanh, na thonae lam dawk hoi ban hanh loe kai koe na dei pouh telah ati.
For it was charged me by the word of the Lord, saying, Thou shalt eate no bread, nor drinke water there, nor turne againe to goe by the way that thou wentest.
18 Profet ni kai hai nang patetlah profet lah ka o. Nang teh vaiyei na ca vaiteh, tui na nei sak nahanelah nang ka im dawk na coun nahanelah, kalvantami ni BAWIPA e a lawk lahoi na dei pouh toe telah laithoe sin teh a dei pouh.
And he said vnto him, I am a Prophet also as thou art, and an Angel spake vnto me by the worde of the Lord, saying, Bring him againe with thee into thine house, that hee may eate bread and drinke water: but he lyed vnto him.
19 Cathut e tami teh, profet hoi a ban roi teh, a im dawk vaiyei a ca teh tui hai a nei.
So he went againe with him, and did eate bread in his house, and dranke water.
20 Caboi dawk rei a tahung roi nah, ka ban khai e profet koevah, BAWIPA e lawk a pha.
And as they sate at the table, the worde of the Lord came vnto the Prophet, that brought him againe.
21 Judah ram lahoi ka tho e Cathut e tami koe BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei. BAWIPA e lawk dei e na tarawi hoeh. BAWIPA Cathut e kâpoe e na ngai hoeh.
And hee cried vnto the man of God that came from Iudah, saying, Thus sayeth the Lord, Because thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the Lord, and hast not kept the commandement which the Lord thy God commanded thee,
22 Hie hmuen koe vaiyei cat hanh, tui net hanh telah lawk na poe e hmuen koe vaiyei na ca teh, tui na nei dawkvah, na ro heh na mintoenaw e tangkom koe phat mahoeh telah a pâpho.
But camest backe againe, and hast eaten bread and drunke water in the place (whereof he did say vnto thee, Thou shalt eate no bread nor drinke any water) thy carkeis shall not come vnto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
23 Vaiyei hoi tui a canei hnukkhu, hote profet ni ka ban e profet hanelah amae la hah hni a padoun pouh teh a cei sak.
And when he had eaten bread and drunke, he sadled him the asse, to wit, to the Prophet whome he had brought againe.
24 Lam vah Sendek a kâhmo teh, a kei. A ro teh lam dawk a yan. Sendek hoi la teh a teng vah a kangdue.
And when hee was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slewe him, and his body was cast in the way, and the asse stoode thereby: the lion stood by the corps also.
25 A ro teh lam dawk a yan teh Sendek hoi la teh a teng vah a kangdue pouh e kahlawng ka cet e ni a hmu nah, ka matawng e profet koe a cei teh a dei pouh.
And beholde, men that passed by, sawe the carkeis cast in the way, and the lion standing by the corps: and they came and tolde it in ye towne where the olde Prophet dwelt.
26 La hoi ka bankhai e profet ni hote lawk a thai toteh, Cathut e tami BAWIPA e lawk ka ngai hoeh e han doeh. Hatdawkvah, BAWIPA ni ahni koe a dei pouh e a lawk patetlah BAWIPA ni Sendek koe a poe teh, vekrasen lah a hruek, a thei tayaw telah ati.
And when the Prophet that brought him backe againe from the waye, hearde thereof, hee sayde, It is the man of God, who hath bene disobedient vnto the commandement of the Lord: therefore the Lord hath deliuered him vnto the lion, which hath rent him and slayne him, according to the worde of the Lord, which hee spake vnto him.

And he spake to his sonnes, saying, Saddle me the asse. And they sadled him.
28 A cei teh lam dawk ka yan e a ro hoi a teng kangdout e sendek hah a hmu. Sendek ni a ro la cat hoeh rah. La hai runae poe hoeh rah.
And he went and founde his body cast in the way, and the asse and the lion stoode by the corps: and the lion had not eaten the bodie, nor torne the asse.
29 Profet ni Cathut e tami e a ro hah a kayo teh la van a phu teh a bankhai. Profet matawng a onae kho dawk khuikakhai teh, pakawp hanelah a ma kho lah a ceikhai.
And the Prophet tooke vp the body of the man of God, and layed it vpon the asse, and brought it againe, and the olde Prophet came to the citie, to lament and burie him.
30 A ro teh amae tangkom dawk a pakawp teh, Oe ka nawngha telah a khuikakhai awh.
And hee layed his bodie in his owne graue, and they lamented ouer him, saying, Alas, my brother.
31 A pakawp hnukkhu a canaw koevah, ka due toteh Cathut e tami pakawpnae tangkom dawk na pakawp awh. A hru teng vah kaie hru hai tat awh.
And when he had buried him, hee spake to his sonnes, saying, When I am dead, burie ye mee also in the sepulchre, wherein the man of God is buried: lay my bones beside his bones.
32 Bethel kho khoungroe hoi Samaria kho ram dawk e hmuenrasang koe sak e imnaw a vang lah Cathut e a lawk patetlah ka hram e lawk teh a kuep katang han telah ati.
For that thing which he cried by the word of the Lord against the altar that is in Beth-el, and against all the houses of the hie places, which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to passe.
33 Hathnukkhu Jeroboam ni amae lamthung kahawihoehe roun hoeh. Hmuenrasang koe tami rumramnaw vaihmanaw lah bout a hruek. Vaihma tawk hane ka ngai e pueng a tawmrasang teh, ahnimouh teh hmuenrasang koe vaihma lah ao awh.
Howbeit after this, Ieroboam conuerted not from his wicked way, but turned againe, and made of the lowest of the people Priests of the hie places. Who would, might consecrate him selfe, and be of the Priestes of the hie places.
34 Hottelah a sak dawkvah, Jeroboam catoun hah talai dawk hoi koung ka mit sak hane hoi kong ka raphoenae yon teh a pha.
And this thing turned to sinne vnto the house of Ieroboam, euen to roote it out, and destroy it from the face of the earth.
