1 Ka lungpataw e naw, muitha pueng hah yuem awh hanh. Cathut koehoi ka tho e maw, ka tho hoeh e maw tie tanouk awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, moikapap e profetkaphawknaw teh het talaivan vah a kamthaw awh toe.
Beloved! not in every spirit, believe ye, but test the spirits, whether they are, of God; because, many false prophets, have gone out into the world.
2 Cathut e Muitha hah bangtelah hoi maw panue awh han tetpawiteh, tami lahoi ka tho e Jisuh Khrih ka dâw e muitha hateh, Cathut koehoi ka tho e doeh.
Hereby, do ye perceive the Spirit of God: —every spirit that confesseth Jesus Christ as having come, in flesh, is, of God;
3 Tami lahoi ka tho e Jisuh Khrih ka dâw hoeh e muitha hateh, Cathut koehoi ka tho e nahoeh. Hot patet e muitha hateh, na thai awh tangcoung e patetlah, het talaivan tho awh vaiteh, atu patenghai ka tho lahun niteh coungkacoelah kaawm e khrihkaphawk e muitha doeh.
And, every spirit that doth not confess Jesus, of God, is not. And, this, is the [spirit] of the Antichrist, touching which ye have heard that it cometh: even now, is it, in the world, already.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, nangmouh koe lah kaawm e hateh, talaivan koe lah kaawm e hlak hoe a len.
Ye, are, of God, dear children, and have overcome them; because, greater, is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 Ahnimouh teh talaivan lae a tho awh dawkvah, talai e konglam hah ouk a dei awh. Talai taminaw nihai ahnimae lawk hah ouk a ngai awh.
They, are, of the world: For this cause, of the world, they speak, and the world, unto them, doth hearken.
6 Maimouh teh, Cathut e lah doeh o awh. Cathut ka panuek e niteh, maimae lawk hah a ngâi awh. Cathut hoi kâkuen hoeh e niteh, maimae lawk hah ngâi awh hoeh. Hote hnonaw khet lahoi yah, lawkkatang muitha hoi muitha kaphawk tie hah panue awh.
We, are, of God: he that is getting to understand God, hearkeneth unto us, —whoso is not of God, hearkeneth not unto us: from this, perceive we—the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Ka pahren e naw: buet touh hoi buet touh lungpataw awh sei. Bangkongtetpawiteh, lungpatawnae teh Cathut e doeh.
Beloved! let us be loving one another; because, love, is, of God, and, whosoever loveth, of God, hath been born, and is getting to understand God:
8 Lungpatawnae ka tawn hoeh e tami teh, Cathut panuek hoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cathut teh lungpatawnae lah ao.
He that doth not love, doth not understand God, because, God, is, love.
9 Cathut ni maimouh lungpatawnae a kamnue sak e teh, Capa lahoi maimouh hring awh nahanelah, a tawn dueng e Capa het talaivan a patoun e dawkvah a kamnue sak. Hmu thai e hmaunawngha patenghai lungpataw hoehpawiteh, hmu thai hoeh e Cathut na tawng teh, bangtelamaw a lungpataw thai han.
Herein, hath the love of God in us, been made manifest, that, his only-begotten Son, God sent into the world, in order that we might live through him.
Herein, is love: not that, we, have loved God, but that, he, loved us, and sent forth his Son, as a propitiation concerning our sins.
11 Ka pahren e naw: Cathut ni maimouh hettelah totouh lung na pataw pawiteh, maimouh hai buet touh hoi buet touh lungkapataw awh hanlah ao.
Beloved! If, in this way, God, loved us, we also, ought to love, one another.
12 Cathut teh apinihai nâtuek hai hmawt boihoeh. Buet touh hoi buet touh lungpataw awh pawiteh, Cathut ni maimouh dawk awm vaiteh, maimouh teh lungpatawnae hoi kawi awh han.
Upon God, hath no one, at any time, gazed: If we love one another, God, in us, abideth, and, his love, hath been perfected within us.
Hereby, perceive we—that, in him, are we abiding, and, he, in us, —in that, of his Spirit, hath he given unto us.
14 Talaivan taminaw ka Rungngangkung lah a coung sak nahan, Pa ni Capa a patoun e hah maimouh ni hmu awh teh kampangkhai awh.
And, we, for ourselves have gazed, and are bearing witness—that, the Father, sent forth the Son, as Saviour of the world.
15 Jisuh teh Cathut Capa doeh tie ka kampangkhai e tami dawk Cathut ao teh ahni hai Cathut dawk ao.
Whosoever shall confess, that, Jesus [Christ] is the Son of God, God, in him, abideth, and, he, in God.
16 Cathut ni maimouh lungpataw e hah panue teh yuem awh. Cathut teh lungpatawnae lah ao. Lungpatawnae dawk ka hring e tami teh Cathut dawk a hring. Cathut hai ahni dawk a hring.
And, we, have come to understand and to trust the love which, God, hath, in us. God, is, love; and, he that abideth in love, in God, abideth, and, God, in him [abideth].
17 Maimouh teh lungpatawnae hoi kawi awh dawkvah, lawkcengnae hmalah taranhawi awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, maimouh teh het talaivan vah Bawipa ama patetlah doeh hring awh.
Herein, hath love with us, been made perfect, —in order that, boldness, we might have in the day of judging, —in that, just as, He, is, we also, are, in this world.
18 Lungpatawnae dawkvah takinae awm hoeh. Lungpatawnae niteh takinae pueng a takhoe. Bangkongtetpawiteh, takinae teh rek lah ao toe. Ka taket e tami teh lungpatawnae hoi kawi hoeh rah.
Fear, existeth not, in love, but, perfect love, casteth fear, outside; because, fear, hath correction: he that feareth, hath not been made perfect, in love.
We, love, because, he, first loved us: —
20 Apipatethai Cathut ka lungpataw toe ati nahlangva, a hmaunawngha hmuhma pawiteh a laithoe doeh a dei.
If one should say, I love God, and should be hating, his brother, false, is he; for, he that doth not love his brother, whom he hath seen, God, whom he hath not seen, he cannot love!
21 Cathut lungpataw e tami niteh, a hmaunawngha hai lungpataw van han tie kâlawk teh Khrih koehoi maimouh ni coe awh toe.
And, this commandment, have we from him, —that, he who loveth God, love, his brother also.
