1 Ka hmaunawnghanaw, nangmouh koe Cathut e lawkpanuesaknae kadung kakaw pâpho han ka tho nah kathoumthainaw ni a hno awh e lawk ka hno a hoeh.

When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.

2 Bangkongtetpawiteh, thingpalam dawk kadout e, Jisuh Khrih hoi thingpalam kong laipalah teh, banghai panue sak hane na ngaikhai awh hoeh.

For I determined not to know anything amongst you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

3 Nangmouh hoi rei ka o nah, ka thayoun teh lungpuen taki hoi doeh ka o.

I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.

4 Ka lawk dei e hoi lawk ka pâpho e hai tami thoumthainae hoi nahoeh, Muitha hnotithainae bahu lahoi doeh.

My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

5 Nangmae na yuemnae teh taminaw e lungangnae dawk awm laipalah Cathut e bahu dawk o nahane doeh.

that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6 Hatei, a lungkahanaw koe lungangnae lawk ka dei. Hottelah ka ti navah talai lungangnae nahoeh. Kahmat hane talai ka ukkungnaw e lungangnae nahoeh. (aiōn g165)

We speak wisdom, however, amongst those who are full grown, yet a wisdom not of this world nor of the rulers of this world who are coming to nothing. (aiōn g165)

7 Het talai ao hoehnahlan, maimae bawilennae lah ao nahan, Cathut ni a sak tangcoung e lungangnae hrolawk, Cathut e lungangnae doeh kaimouh ni ka pâpho awh. (aiōn g165)

But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory, (aiōn g165)

8 Hote lungangnae hah talai ukkungnaw buet touh ni boehai panuek awh hoeh. Panuek awh pawiteh ka Bawilen poung e Bawipa thingpalam dawk thet a mahoeh ei. (aiōn g165)

which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory. (aiōn g165)

9 Cakathoung dawk thut e patetlah, mit ni a hmu boihoeh, hnâ hoi thai boihoeh e, lung ni hai a pouk boihoeh e hah Cathut ni a lungpataw e naw hanlah sut a rakueng pouh toe.

But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.”

10 Cathut ni maimouh koe hote hno hah Muitha lahoi a pâpho toe. Muitha ni hro e hnonaw koehoi hnocawngca pueng pheng a pâphue.

But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

11 Tami hoi kâkuen e naw hah, tami thungvah kaawm e muitha laipalah apinimouh a panue han. Hot patetvanlah Cathut hoi kâkuen e hnonaw hah, Cathut e Muitha hloilah apinihai panuek thai hoeh.

For who amongst men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit.

12 Maimouh teh talaivan e muitha coe awh hoeh. Cathut ni ayawmlah na poe e hno panue thai nahan Cathut koehoi e Muitha doeh coe awh.

But we received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.

13 Cathut ni na poe e naw ka pâpho awh navah, tami lungangnae ni cangkhai e lahoi nahoeh. Kathoung Muitha ni na cangkhai e lawk lahoi doeh ka pâpho awh.

We also speak these things, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

14 Muitha ka tawn hoeh e ni teh Cathut e Muitha koehoi ka tho e hnonaw panuek thai hoeh. Ahni hane lateh hot naw hah pathunae lah ao. Muitha koelae hno lah ao dawkvah kapekkaboe thai hoeh.

Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him; and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 Muitha tami ni teh hote hnonaw pueng a kapek teh panue thai. Hateiteh hote tami teh apinihai panuek thai hoeh.

But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is to be judged by no one.

16 Apimaw Cathut lung pouknae ka panuek ni teh Cathut hah ka cangkhai han vaw. Maimouh teh Khrih e lungthin tawn awh.

“For who has known the mind of the Lord that he should instruct him?” But we have Christ’s mind.
