1 Kai Pawl, Cathut ngainae lahoi Jisuh Khrih e guncei lah kaawm e hoi ka nawngha Sosthenes ni,
Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through God’s will, —and Sosthenes the brother, —
2 maimae Bawipa Jisuh Khrih min ka kaw e kho tangkuem kaawm e taminaw hoi, tami kathoung lah kaw lah kaawm e Kawrin kho e Khrih Jisuh thung thoungsak lah kaawm e, Cathut e kawhmoun ca na patawn awh. Bawipa teh ama ka kaw e naw puenghoi kaimae Bawipa lah ao.
Unto the assembly of God which is in Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, —with all who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place, —their Lord and ours:
3 Maimae Pa Cathut hoi Bawipa Jisuh Khrih koe e lungmanae hoi lungmawngnae teh nangmouh koe awm lawiseh.
Favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and Lord Jesus Christ.
I give thanks unto my God, at all times, concerning you, by reason of the favour of God given unto you in Christ Jesus, —
5 Nangmanaw teh hote Khrih lahoi lawk dei thainae, panue thainae, bangpueng dawk na bawi awh toe.
That, in everything, ye have been enriched in him—in all discourse and in all knowledge;
6 Khrih hoi kâkuen e lawkpanuesaknae teh nangmouh dawk a cak toe.
Even as, the witness of the Christ, hath been confirmed in you,
7 Hatdawkvah, nangmouh teh Bawipa Jisuh Khrih bout a kamnuenae ngaihawi laihoi ring awh navah, poehno roeroe na toum a mahoeh.
So that ye come short in no gift of favour, —ardently awaiting the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 Maimae Bawipa Jisuh Khrih e hnin dawk nangmouh teh apinihai tounhoehe lah o nahan, Bawipa ni nangmouh teh apout totouh na caksak han.
Who will also confirm you unto the end, unaccusable in the day of our Lord Jesus [Christ]:
9 Ama e Capa, Jisuh Khrih e huikonae thungvah, nangmouh na ka kaw e Cathut teh yuemkamcu lah ao.
Faithful, is God, through whom ye have been called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Hmaunawnghanaw Bawipa Jisuh Khrih min lahoi pahrennae kahei. Lungthin suetalah awm awh. Kâ kapeknae tawn awh hanh. Pouknae buet touh dawk kâracui awh.
But I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, —that, the same thing, ye, all, be saying, and that there be not, among you, divisions; but that ye be fitly joined together—in the same mind, and in the same judgment.
11 Hmaunawnghanaw Khaloe imthung ni, pou a kâtaran awh a ti.
For it hath been signified unto me, concerning you, my brethren, —by them who are of [the household of] Chloe, —that there are strifes among you,
12 Nangmouh ni kai teh Pawl e vaica doeh, kai teh Apollos e vaica doeh, kai teh Piter e vaica doeh, Kai teh Khrih e vaica doeh na ti awh.
Now I mean this, —that, each one of you, is saying—I, indeed, am of Paul, but, I, of Apollos, but, I, of Cephas, but, I, of Christ:
13 Khrih teh a kâkapek na maw. Pawl na ou nangmouh han thingpalam dawk ka dout. Nahoeh pawiteh Pawl e min dawk na ou baptisma na coe awh.
The Christ is divided! Was, Paul, crucified for you? Or, into the name of Paul, were ye immersed?
14 Crispus hoi Gaius hloilah apihai baptisma ka poe hoeh dawk Cathut koe ka lunghawi.
I give thanks, that, none of you, did I immerse—save Crispus and Gaius,
15 Hatdawkvah kai Pawl e min dawk baptisma ka coe e apihai awmhoeh.
Lest any should say—into my own name, I immersed:
16 Stiven imthung baptisma ka poe, alouknaw baptisma ka poe vaimoe ka panuek hoeh.
Yea! I immersed the house of Stephanas also, —besides, I know not whether, anyone else, I immersed.
Tami lungang thoumnae dawk nahoeh, telah pawiteh Khrih thingpalam hnosakthainae ayawmyin han doeh.
For Christ sent me not, to be immersing, but to be telling the good news, —not with wisdom of discourse, lest, void should be made, the cross of the Christ.
18 Bangkongtetpawiteh, thingpalam kamthang kahawi heh kahmat naw hanelah teh pathunae lah doeh ao, rungngang lah kaawm e maimouh hane teh Cathut e bahu doeh.
For, the discourse which concerneth the cross, unto them, indeed, who are perishing, is, foolishness; but, unto them who are being saved—unto us, it is, God’s power.
For it is written—I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and, the discernment of the discerning, will I set aside.
20 A lungkaangnaw teh nâne ao. Cakathutkungnaw teh nâne ao. Laidei kathoumnaw te nâne ao. Talaivan lungangnae teh Cathut ni pathunae lah a coung sak toung nahoehmaw. (aiōn g165)
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (aiōn g165)
21 Talaivan lungangnae lahoi Cathut a panue thai awh hoeh dawkvah, Cathut ni pâpho e pathunae lawk lahoi ka yuem e naw rungngang hane a ngainae ao.
For, seeing that, in the wisdom of God, the world, through its wisdom, did not get to knew God, God was well-pleased—through the foolishness of the thing proclaimed, to save them that believe.
22 Judahnaw ni mitnoutnae naw a hei awh. Griknaw ni lungangnae lahoi a tawng awh.
Seeing that both, Jews for signs, do ask, and, Greeks for wisdom, do seek,
23 Maimouh teh thingpalam dawk pathout lah kaawm e Khrih e kamthang pâpho awh. Hete kamthang kahawi teh Judahnaw kamthuinae lah ao teh, Jentelnaw hanlah pathunae lah ao.
Whereas, we, proclaim a Christ who hath been crucified, —unto Jews, indeed, an occasion of stumbling, and, unto Gentiles, foolishness;
24 Hatei, Judah thoseh, Griknaw thoseh, Cathut ni a kaw e taminaw hanelah, Khrih teh Cathut e bahu hoi lungangnae lah ao.
But, unto the called themselves—both Jews and Greeks, Christ, God’s power, and, God’s wisdom.
25 Cathut e pathunae teh taminaw lungangnae hlak a lunganghnawn rah. Cathut thayounnae teh, taminaw thasainae hlak a thasaihnawn.
Because, God’s foolish thing, is, wiser than men, and, God’s weak thing, mightier than men.
26 Nangmouh na kawnae pouk a haw. A kaw e thung dawk ka thoumthai kapap awm hoeh. Athakaawme kapap awm hoeh. Ka talue e kapap awm hoeh.
For be looking at the calling of you, brethren, —that [there were] not many wise, according to flesh. Not many powerful, not many high-born:
27 Cathut ni ka thoumthai naw kaya sak nahan talaivan koe lah ka pathu naw a rawi. Athakaawme taminaw kaya sak nahan, talai koe lah tha kayoun naw a rawi.
On the contrary—the foolish things of the world, hath God chosen, that he might put to shame them who are wise, and, the weak things of the world, hath God chosen, that he might put to shame the things that are mighty,
And, the low-born things of the world, and the things that are despised, hath God chosen, —[and] the things that are not, —that, the things that are, he might bring to nought;
29 Hatdawkvah Cathut hmalah apihai kâoup thai hoeh.
So that no flesh should boast before God.
30 Nangmouh teh Cathut pawlawk dawk Khrih Jisuh thung na o awh. Khrih teh maimouh hanlah Cathut koehoi ka tho e maimae lungangnae, thoungnae, lannae hoi ratangnae lah o.
But, of him, are, ye, in Christ Jesus, who hath been made wisdom unto us, from God, —both righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 Hatdawkvah Cakathoung ni a dei patetlah ka kâoup e tami teh Bawipa dawk ma kâoup naseh.
In order that, even as it is written—He that boasteth, in the Lord, let him boast.
