Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.

Of these, twenty and four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges;
5 Hahoi 4000 teh, longkha karingkungnaw lah ao awh. Alouke 4000 teh pholennae koe tumkhawng hanelah ka sak e naw, Devit ni a sak e hah a hno awh teh, BAWIPA kapholennaw lah ao awh.
and four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised the LORD 'with the instruments which I made to praise therewith.'
6 Levih e capanaw thung dawk hoi a hu louklouk lah a kâkapek awh. Gershon casaknaw Kohath hoi Merari.
And David divided them into courses according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
7 Gershonnaw teh Ladan hoi Shimei.
Of the Gershonites: Ladan, and Shimei.
8 Ladan casaknaw teh Jehiel, Zetham hoi Joel, abuemlah kathum touh a pha awh.
The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9 Shimei casaknaw teh Shelomith hoi Haziel, Haran hoi abuemlah kathum touh a pha awh. Hetnaw teh Ladan catoun imthung kahrawikung lah ao awh.
The sons of Shimei: Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers' houses of Ladan.
10 Shimei casaknaw teh Jahath, Zina, Jeush hoi Beriah. Hetnaw pali touh teh Shimei casaknaw doeh.
And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
11 Jahath teh kacuepoung lah ao. Zizah teh apâhni e lah ao. Jeush hoi Beriah teh ca pung awh hoeh. Hatdawkvah, imthung buet touh e patetlah a pouk awh.
And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they became a fathers' house in one reckoning.
12 Kohath casaknaw teh Amram, Izhar, Hebron, Uzziel hoi pali touh a pha awh.
The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 Amram casaknaw teh Aron hoi Mosi doeh. Aron hoi a catounnaw teh, yungyoe hanelah kathounge hnonaw hah thoung sak hane, BAWIPA hmalah hmuitui sawi e thaw hah tawk vaiteh, amae min lah hoi yawhawi ka poe hanelah aloukcalah kapek e lah ao.
The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was separated, that he should be sanctified as most holy, he and his sons for ever, to offer before the LORD, to minister unto Him, and to bless in His name for ever.
14 Cathut e tami Mosi e capanaw teh Levih miphun dawk hmai touksin e lah ao.
But as for Moses the man of God, his sons are named among the tribe of Levi.
15 Mosi casak teh Gershom hoi Eliezer.
The sons of Moses: Gershom, and Eliezer.
16 Gershom casak thung dawk hoi kacuepoung e teh Shubael doeh.
The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief.
17 Eliezer casak lah kaawm e thung hoi kacuepoung e Rehabiah doeh. Eliezer ni ca tongpa alouke tawn hoeh. Hateiteh, Rehabiah casak teh moi a pung awh.
And the sons of Eliezer were: Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
18 Izhar casak thung dawk hoi kacuepoung e teh Shelomith doeh.
The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
19 Hebron casaknaw thung dawk hoi kacuepoung e teh Jeriah doeh. Apâhni e teh Amariah doeh. Apâthum e teh Jahaziel doeh. Apali e teh Jekameam doeh.
The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 Uzziel casak dawk hoi kacuepoung e teh Mikah, apâhni e teh Isshiah doeh.
The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
21 Merari casak teh Mahli hoi Mushi, Mahli casak teh Eleazar hoi Kish.
The sons of Merari: Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar, and Kish.
22 Eleazar teh ca tongpa tawn hoeh. Napui dueng doeh a tawn. Kish e capanaw ni ahnimouh teh yu lah a la awh.
And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only; and their brethren the sons of Kish took them to wife.
23 Mushi casaknaw teh Mahli, Eder, Jerimoth hoi kathum touh a pha awh.
The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
24 Hetnaw teh Levih capanaw dawk a imthung lah hoi touk awh e dawk, imthungnaw kahrawikung BAWIPA im sak hanelah kum 20 lathueng e thaw katawknaw lah ao awh.
These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of the fathers' houses, according to their muster, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward.
25 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Devit ni Jerusalem vah yungyoe kho a sak thai nahane Isarel BAWIPA Cathut ni a taminaw hah karoumcalah o thai nahan a poe e doeh.
For David said: 'The LORD, the God of Israel, hath given rest unto His people, and He dwelleth in Jerusalem for ever;
26 Levihnaw ni hai lukkareiim hoi a thaw tawk nahanelah puengcangnaw kâkayawt hanelah ngai mahoeh toe, telah a ti.
and also the Levites shall no more have need to carry the tabernacle and all the vessels of it for the service thereof.'
27 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Devit ni kâpoe e ao dawkvah, Levihnaw kum 20 lathueng hah touk e lah ao awh.
For by the last ordinances of David the sons of Levi were numbered from twenty years old and upward.
28 Hatdawkvah, Levihnaw teh Cathut e im dawk thaw ka tawk e Aron e capanaw thaw kabawp hane, longkha thung e, im khan thung e, kathounge hno pueng thoung sak hane, BAWIPA e im dawk thaw ka tawk e lah ao awh.
For their station was at the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;
29 Pâtoum hane vaiyei hoi tavai, thueng nahane tavai kanui e, tonphuenhoehe ka rapamca e, hmai pahai e thoseh, karê e thoseh, kathoung kalen pueng hai ao.
for the showbread also, and for the fine flour for a meal-offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked on the griddle, or of that which is soaked, and for all manner of measure and size;
30 Amom tangminlah hnintangkuem BAWIPA koe lunghawi lawk dei hanelah ao awh.
and to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even;
31 Sabbath hnin thoseh, thaparei hnin thoseh, pawi hnin thoseh, sak hane patetlah BAWIPA koe thuengnae pueng poe hanelah thaw katawknaw lah ao awh.
and to offer all burnt-offerings unto the LORD, on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and in the appointed seasons, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually, before the LORD;
32 Hahoi, kamkhuengnae lukkareiim ka ring hane hoi, hmuen kathoung ka ring hane hoi, BAWIPA im dawk thaw ka tawk hane hmaunawngha Aron e capanaw ni sak hane pueng teh ahnimae thaw lah ao.
and that they should keep the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, for the service of the house of the LORD.
