< Zechariah 7 >

1 Darius lengpa Vaipoh kumli channa lhako lhinna Chislea lha kiti nili lhinnin Pakaiyin Zechariah henga thu ahin seije:
The Lord sent a message to Zechariah on the fourth day of the ninth month, the month of Chislev. This was during the fourth year of king Darius' reign.
2 Hichun Bethel khomiten Saherzer le Regem-molech toh amiteu chu Pakai lunglhaina holdin asol tauve,
Bethel-sharezer sent Regem-melech and his men to ask for the Lord's blessing.
3 Chujong leh thaneipan Pakai Hou-in na thempu leh themgao hochu thu aga dong’e, “Keiman hitih chan khanga kahin bolngai banga chu lhanga lhinseh leh lunghem kabolla an kangol ding ham, kum hijat sunga kabol bang banga?” tin sei uvintin asol uve.
They were to ask the priests of the Temple of the Lord Almighty and the prophets, “Should I go on mourning and fasting in the fifth month, as I have done for so many years?”
4 Hiche ahin thanei pen Pakaiyin kajah in thu ahin seijin hitin ati.
The Lord Almighty sent a message to me saying,
5 Gamsunga mite jahle thempuho jah a khun hiti hin seijin, nanghon lhanga lhin leh lha sagi teng leh lunghem anbollu khu, hiche kum som-sagi sunga hi keima dinga anngolla nahiuvem?
Tell everyone in the land and the priests, when you fasted and mourned in the fifth month and the seventh month during these seventy years, was it really me you were fasting for?
6 Chuleh nanghon an naneh uva twi na donteng u-jongleh khun nangho le nangho dia na kineh uva chule nangho le nangho dia na kidon jiu hilou ham?
And when you eat and drink, don't you eat and drink for yourselves?
7 Jerusalem khopia mi achen lai, neile gou thalhin lai akimvel dunga jong khopi tampi aumna lhanglam gamla gammon lai dung jong min achenpha laiya chu hicheng mahi Pakaiyin themgao masaho komma aphondoh sa hilou ham?” tin ati.
Isn't this what the Lord told you to do through the former prophets, when Jerusalem was prosperous and inhabited, and when people were living in the Negev and the Shephelah?
8 Pakai thupeh chu Zechariah komma ahung lhung in hitin ati.
The Lord Almighty sent another message to me.
9 Thaneipen Pakaiyin hitin aseije, min asopi kom ah ngailutna leh khotona nei tahin thudih in thu tanhen,
This is what the Lord says. Judge fairly and truthfully. Show mercy and kindness to one another.
10 Meithai hihen nuneilou pa neilou hijong leh kholjin hihen mivaicha hijong leh bol genthei hihen chuleh na lungthim in na sopi chunga thilse gel hihen,
Don't exploit those who are widowed or fatherless, foreigners or the poor. Don't think up ways of mistreating one other.
11 Amahon nathuseiju ngaida uhenlang, nanung ngat’u henlang na thuseiju ajah lou na diuvin akollu sip jong leu,
But they refused to listen. They were obstinate, turning their backs and closing their ears.
12 A lungthi un nanahsah dau henlang danthu jong kihet mosah jongleu themgao masaho komma hatchungnung pen Pakaiyin ana phondoh ija tihih jong leu, hijeh achu hatchungnung Pakaija konna hung deojah jenga ahi.
They made their minds unreceptive, as hard as stone. They refused to listen to the law or to what the Lord Almighty told them by his Spirit through the former prophets. That's why the Lord Almighty became very angry with them.
13 Keiman amaho kakouva eingaipeh lou jeh'un amahon eihin kouteng ujongleh keiman jong kangai peh lou ding, ahi tin thaneipen Pakaiyin aseijin ahi.
So since they didn't listen when I called out to them, I wouldn't listen when they called out to me, says the Lord Almighty.
14 Ama hohi ahet khah louvu chitin namtin lah a chimpei banga ka thethang gam ding ahi. Hitia chu agamsung uchu akeo hella kijam ding koi machan ahung vilkhah lou ding ahitan, agam nomtah uchu manlou asodoh sah u ahitai.
With the winds of a storm I scattered them among the nations where they lived as foreigners. The land they left became so desolate that no one even traveled through it. They turned the Promised Land into a desert.
