1 Mounu: Jan khat khun chunga sa-mang kajal laijin, ka goldeipa ka lhangai lheh-e. Kalhangai lheh jeng in, hinlah ama ahung poi.
By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
2 Hijeh chun, “Keima kithoudoh-ing katin khopi tolsungah vahle in, lamlen-lamkah ningkoi jouse ah ka goldeipa gahol le inge,” tin ka kigel tai. Hiti chun ka gahol le in, hinlah ka gamu joupoi.
I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
3 Kholai vengtup jan khongah hon lamkah-a eina khamtang uvin, chuin keiman amaho jah-a, “Ka goldeipa chu namu khah uvem?” tin kadong’e.
The watchmen that go about the city found me: [to whom I said], Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?
4 Amaho ka dalhah jouchet’na ka goldeipa kamu-mu chun, ka nailut in ka tuhchah jeng tan, chuin kapenna indan, kanu insung ah ka puilut tai.
[It was] but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
5 Vo Jerusalem chanute, loujaova sapeng le sakhi min pan’a katem nahiuve; achama ahung kipatdoh ngal lou leh kideina hi nanghon tildoh tho ding le suhkhah-tho din got dauvin.
I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake [my] love, till he please.
6 Zailom: Ipi hitantem hiche gamthip lama kon’a meikhu lom banga kijel doh letlut pi khu? Ipi hitan tem Myrrh gim namtwi chule sumkol veiho gimnamtwi kilhut nam bang jeng hi?
Who [is] this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
7 Veuvin, hiche khu Solomon khunjon ahi in, avengtup din Israel sunga gamngah-galsat son-um pen pasal thahat somgup in ahin jui uve.
Behold his bed, which [is] Solomon’s; threescore valiant men [are] about it, of the valiant of Israel.
8 Amaho khu chemjam peithem cheh, galsat them cheh ahiuve. Chemjam a kiko sohkei uvin, janteng koiyin lengpa hin bulu jongleh avengdoh ding sadema kimansa ahiuve.
They all hold swords, [being] expert in war: every man [hath] his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
9 Leng Solomon loupitah-a akijonna khunjon hi Lebanon gam'a thing phapen’a kisem ahi.
King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon.
10 Akhun jon akhom-ajol chengse chu dangka jeng in a kisem in, achung khu khu sana songmantam in akitom in, apondal-ho chu pon san dup val lheng ahi. Hichu Jerusalem chanu ten ngailutna jouse puma ajep-hoisel’u khunjon ahi.
He made the pillars thereof [of] silver, the bottom thereof [of] gold, the covering of it [of] purple, the midst thereof being paved [with] love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.
11 Mounu: Vo Jerusalem chanute, hung uvin lang Leng Solomon hi hung ve tem’un. Aman akipa thanop napen, ajinei nia anun lallukhuh apeh chu akikhuh-in ahi.
Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.
