A Song of degrees. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

2 Kakhangdonlai a pat in kagalmiten eihin bolseuvin ahi, ahinla amahon khatveicha eijoukha pouvin ahi.

Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.

3 Katungtun hi maha adiptauvin, loukhoipan lou akhoi chehlah lahtoh abahsah jengun ahi.

The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

4 Ahinla Yahweh Pakai chu aphatjeh'in miphalouhon khaova eikan nao eisutlhap peh tan ahi.

The LORD [is] righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

5 Koi hileh Jerusalem hot leh deimoa bolho jouse chu jumthet in ki nunglekit'u henlang lhuhpiu hen.

Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

6 Amahohi pannabei inchung vum a hampa kehtobang, akhan kilhit masanga goplha tobang hiuhen.

Let them be as the grass [upon] the house-tops, which withereth before it groweth up:

7 Chang-at hon anotthap'u, chuleh chang kanhon adeimou hihen, chuleh hichelang hopa jousen, “Nachunguva Yahweh Pakai phattheiboh umhen keihon Yahweh Pakai mi in phatthei kahinboh uve” tin seihihbeh'u hen.

With which the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves, his bosom.

8 Yahweh Pakai in phatthei na boh hen, Yahweh Pakai min in nang ma phatthei ka boh uve, chule nang man na lam jot na chun hichi mi ho chun phatthei na chu sutang jou pou vin te.

Neither do they who go by, say, The blessing of the LORD [be] upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
