Evil men don’t understand justice; but those who seek the LORD understand it fully.

Whoever keeps the Torah is a wise son; but he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.

He who increases his wealth by excessive interest gathers it for one who has pity on the poor.
9 Koi hileh Dan thu jahda jeh'a akol heimang achu, atao na jeng jong Elohim Pathen dinga thet um ahi.
He who turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, even his prayer is an abomination.
10 Milungdih lamsea pui achu, amatah jong ama kokhuh sunga lhalut ding, hinlah milungdih vang chun gou phatah alo ding ahi.
Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he will fall into his own trap; but the blameless will inherit good.
11 Mihao kiti chu ama mitmun aching dan in akigel jin, hinlah hetthemna nei mivaichan achih louna amatdoh tei ding ahi.
The rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor who has understanding sees through him.

When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.

He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
14 Phattin a Yahweh Pakai gingpa chu anunnom ahin, amavang milungtah pa vang chu manthahna chu tei ding ahi.
Blessed is the man who always fears; but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

As a roaring lion or a charging bear, so is a wicked ruler over helpless people.

A tyrannical ruler lacks judgement. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.

A man who is tormented by blood guilt will be a fugitive until death. No one will support him.
18 Lung dettah'a lampi jotpa chu huhdoh a um tei ding, hinlah achena jousea akaleh akalouva chonpa vang chu hetman louva kisumang ding ahi.
Whoever walks blamelessly is kept safe; but one with perverse ways will fall suddenly.
19 Koi hileh ama gam leiset lhoupa chun, neh le chah kimsel a anei ding; hinlah phatchomna beija donva lepa vang chu vaicha tei ding ahi.
One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
20 Tahsan umtah pa chu phattheina chang jing ding, hinlah gangtah'a haodoh ding ngaito pan gimna ato lo ding ahi.
A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
21 Langneina kiti hi apha ahipoi, hinlah mihem in thil neochan jong adihlou abol jeng theije.
To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
22 Mi kikhit them chu gangtah'a haoding mano ahin, hinlah hetman louva vaichatnan ahin lhun den ding ahepha jipoi.
A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn’t know that poverty waits for him.
23 Lei kileh pil'a thu alhem-a sei sang in, lung thengsel'a miphoh pan lung lhaina ahin mujoh ding ahi.
One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favour than one who flatters with the tongue.
24 Koi hileh anu le apa thilgua “Hiche hi chon dihlou akitipoi,” tia seija chu mi manthah sahpa ahibouve.
Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, “It’s not wrong,” is a partner with a destroyer.
25 Neipap kiloset hin kinahna asodoh sahjin, hinlah Yahweh Pakaija kingaipa vang chu haodoh tei ding ahi.
One who is greedy stirs up strife; but one who trusts in the LORD will prosper.
26 Ama lungthim jenga kisongpa chu angol ahin, hinlah chihna thua lamlha jingpa vang hoidoh ding ahi.
One who trusts in himself is a fool; but one who walks in wisdom is kept safe.
27 Koi hileh vaicha khotona'a dimpa chu lhasam louhel ding, amavang mivaichate khoto lou chu sapset chang ding ahi.
One who gives to the poor has no lack; but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.
28 Migilouten vai ahomteng, mihem amacham cham in akidalse jin, hinlah hitobang miho chu abei teng; adih akhang in apung jitai.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous thrive.
