1 Haosatna sanga minphat kilhen ding apha jon, sana le dangka sanga jong, mihem lunglhaina um ding aphajoi.
A name is chosen rather than much wealth, Than silver and than gold—good grace.
2 Mihao hihen mivaicha hijongleh akisu-khen thei aum poi, ajeh chu Yahweh Pakai in anitah lhon'a asem ahi.
Rich and poor have met together, YHWH [is] the Maker of them all.
3 Miching chun alungthim in hahsatna hung lhung ding avephan, ama le ama akivengdoh jin ahi. Hinlah mi lungthim bei le ima kholtoh louva machalpi chun gimna ato tei ding ahi.
The prudent has seen the evil, and is hidden, And the simple have passed on, and are punished.
4 Kineosah pum le Elohim Pathen gin jeh'a kipaman chu haosatna jouse, jabolna chule hinna ahi.
The end of humility [is] the fear of YHWH, riches, and honor, and life.
5 Phatlouna jenga chonpa lam lhahna chu ling le khaovin abom jin, koi hileh ling le khao lah'a kiveng thempa chu hoidoh tei ding ahi.
Thorns [and] snares [are] in the way of the perverse, Whoever is keeping his soul is far from them.
6 Chapang chu lamdih jenga khoukhah in, chutileh akhanlhit geija asuhmil lou ding aki lhonpi jing ding ahi.
Give instruction to a youth about his way, Even when he is old he does not turn from it.
7 Mihao in mivaichate chunga vai ahom in, chule sum bapa jong abatsah napa soh'in apang e.
The rich rules over the poor, And a servant [is] the borrower to the lender.

Whoever is sowing perverseness reaps sorrow, And the rod of his anger wears out.
9 Koi hileh midang mit-ha phatah'a vepa chu phatthei chang ding, ajeh chu aman aneh ding an chu vaicha ho apejin ahi.
The good of eye—he is blessed, For he has given of his bread to the poor.
10 Miphalou chon chavei ho chu no-mang un, chutileh kinahna jong beiyin tin, baotamna jouse jong thip hel ding ahi.
Cast out a scorner—and contention goes out, And strife and shame cease.

Whoever is loving cleanness of heart, His lips [are] grace, A king [is] his friend.

The eyes of YHWH have kept knowledge, And He overthrows the words of the treacherous.
13 Mithasen aseijin, “hichea khun keipi bahkai aum in, potdoh leng kholai dunga ei-tha ding ahi” ati.
The slothful has said, “A lion [is] outside, I am slain in the midst of the broad places.”
14 Jonlungpu numeinu kamsung hi, kokhuh thuh tah ahin, Yahweh Pakai lung hansah chan chu hiche kokhuh sunga hi lhalut tei ding ahi.
The mouth of strange women [is] a deep pit, The abhorred of YHWH falls there.
15 Chapang lungthim sunga hi ngolna dimset ahin, hinlah achunga hilchahna aum teng, ngolna chu bei tei ding ahi.
Folly is bound up in the heart of a youth, The rod of discipline puts it far from him.
16 Hao ding deija mivaicha sugentheija chule ahaopa pehbe mi chu vaichat nan aphah ding ahi.
He [who] is oppressing the poor to multiply his [riches], Is giving to the rich—only to want.
17 Nana hong phan lang miching ho thumop ngaiphan, chule kahetna hi nalung sunga het tei ding gon lang kisanlut in;
Incline your ear, and hear words of the wise, And set your heart to my knowledge,
18 Ajeh chu hiche ho jouse hi nalung sunga nachin leh, nangma dinga lung nopna'a pang ding, chule aboncha nakam'a na phondoh thei teng, nalung lhai ding ahi.
For they are pleasant when you keep them in your heart, They are prepared together for your lips.
19 Ajeh chu Yahweh Pakaija nakison theina dinga, tunia hi keiman nangma jah-tah'a kaseipeh nahi.
That your trust may be in YHWH, I caused you to know today, even you.
20 Keiman nakom'a thumopna le hetthemna thucheng phatah tah kasutdoh peh nahi lou ham?
Have I not written to you three times With counsels and knowledge?
21 Hitiahi nangman thutah hochu nahet them'a, chutengleh nahinsol ho ang-a thu adih'a na donbut theina dinga kahil nahi.
To cause you to know the certainty of sayings of truth, To return sayings of truth to those sending you.
22 Najotho man'in mivaicha ho chom hih in, ama chu vaicha tahbeh ahi.
Do not rob the poor because he [is] poor, And do not bruise the afflicted in the gate.
23 Ajeh chu Yahweh Pakai hi amaho vengtup a pang ahin, koi hileh amaho sumang achu Aman asuhmang ding ahi.
For YHWH pleads their cause, And has spoiled the soul of their spoilers.
24 Milung chom le lunghang jing hotoh kivop dan, chule mi lungsa jing hoto jong chekhom hih in.
Do not show yourself friendly with an angry man, And do not go in with a man of fury,
25 Hitia chu naum louleh ama tobanga nachon ding, chepaina'a nanei loa nahinkho lamvai ding ahi.
Lest you learn his paths, And have received a snare to your soul.
26 Bat lahna'a batman a kitung doh ho bang in, batsah nan kimoh tun hih in.
Do not be among those striking hands, Among sureties [for] burdens.

If you have nothing to pay, Why does he take your bed from under you?
28 Napu Napa khang apat gamgi melchihna song chu, nangman na chondoh lou ding ahi.
Do not remove a border of ancient times, That your fathers have made.
29 Lolhingtah'a natong khut them namudoh lou ham? Amachu lengpa ang-sunga bou ding ding, michavei masanga vang ding thei lou ding ahi.
Have you seen a man speedy in his business? He stations himself before kings, He does not station himself before obscure men!
