1 Elohim Pathen in vadung twi alon sahna nom nom'a alonsah banga, lengpa lungthim jong ahei lele thei ahi.
As a rush of water, so is the king's heart in God's hand: he turns it whithersoever he may desire to point out.
2 Mihem in achonna jouse chu amit mun dih asa-jin, hinlah Yahweh Pakai in mihem lungthim akhol chil jin ahi.
Every man seems to himself righteous; but the Lord directs the hearts.
3 Kilhaina gantha sang in, thildih bol'a thu adih a tan ding hi, Yahweh Pakai lunglhaina ahijoi.
To do justly and to speak truth, are more pleasing to God than the blood of sacrifices.
4 Kiletsahna lungthim pua mitha chule miphalou ho natoh aboncha chonset jeng ahi.
A high-minded man is stout-hearted in [his] pride; and the lamp of the wicked is sin.
5 Miching hon gunchutah'a tohgon anei jouseu abulhing thei jin, amavang amin mei meija natong ho alhasam teijin ahi.
6 Jou le nal thoa nei le gou kichom khom jouse amangthah ding bep ahin, thina thang kisong tobang ahibouve.
He that gathers treasures with a lying tongue pursues vanity [on] to the snares of death.
7 Thu adih'a tan ding mihon anahsah lou jeh un, miphalou pumthoa natong hon pannabei jin asumang jitauve.
Destruction shall lodge with the ungodly; for they refuse to do justly.
8 Themmona neipan lamdih ajot jipon, lungthim thengpa lam lhahna adih jing in ahi.
To the froward God sends froward ways; for his works are pure and right.
9 Numei hanse khat toh in nom khat'a chenkhom sang in, chungden in-vum'a chen ding aphajoi.
[It is] better to dwell in a corner on the house-top, than in plastered [rooms] with unrighteousness, and in an open house.
10 Miphalou lhagao'in thilse jeng bou angai chan, aheng akom in jong ama'a kon'in khotona amu jipoi.
The soul of the ungodly shall not be pitied by any man.
11 Panna beija mi tot chaveipa gotna akipeh teng, milham in chih-nan anei theijin chule miching ho akihil chan in hetna akibelep jie.
When an intemperate man is punished the simple becomes wiser: and a wise man understanding will receive knowledge.
12 Mikitah chu miphalou in amelchih jing in, miphalou vang chu achunga hamsetna lhung tei ding ahi.
A righteous man understands the hearts of the ungodly: and despises the ungodly for their wickedness.
13 Koi hileh migenthei akateng kijahmosah chu, ama kana ahung lhun teng koiman ajah phah peh lou ding ahi.
He that stops his ears from hearing the poor, himself also shall cry, and there shall be none to hear [him].
14 Aguh'a kipa thilpeh hin alunghang jong adamsah thei jin, koima hetlouva nehguh kipe hin lungsat jong adaisah jitai.
A secret gift calms anger: but he that forbears to give stirs up strong wrath.
15 Thu adih'a kitan hin mikitah akipasah in, hinlah miphalou ho ding in tijat umtah ahi.
[It is] the joy of the righteous to do judgment: but a holy [man] is abominable with evil-doers.
16 Mi koi hileh hetkhen themna'a kon lamvaija vahmang chan chu, mithi hotoh kivop khomna ding mun ajot ahitai.
A man that wanders out of the way of righteousness, shall rest in the congregation of giants.
17 Tahsa nopsahna lamjeng lhangai hochun vaichatna akimudiu ahin, koi hijongleh jule noplenna-a kipe hochu itihchan hijongleh haodoh loudiu ahi.
A poor man loves mirth, loving wine and oil in abundance;
18 Koi hileh min akhoto ding jeng ngaicha a chu, vaicha pum'a um jing ding, chule ju-a lop jong haodoh thei lou ding ahi.
and a transgressor is the abomination of a righteous man.
19 Numei lungkhoh le lungsa jing, jia neija chen khom sang in, het phahlou neldi gam'a chen aphajoi.
[It is] better to dwell in a wilderness than with a quarrelsome and talkative and passionate woman.
20 Miching chenna in-ah nei le gou lutah tah aum in, hinlah mingol in abonchan ane-mang jitai.
A desirable treasure will rest on the mouth of the wise; but foolish men will swallow it up.
21 Koi hileh chonphatna lam khohsah a, chule mi khotona neipa chun jabolna amu tei ding ahi.
The way of righteousness and mercy will find life and glory.
22 Miching mihatpa chenna khopi jong akholchil soh keijin, chule akisonpi pen-u kulpi jong alekhup'a asuhchim hel ding ahi.
A wise man assaults strong cities, and demolishes the fortress in which the ungodly trusted.
23 Koi hileh thipkhen cha um'a lei kituh tang chu, gim le hesohna'a jong kivengdoh ding ahi.
He that keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from trouble.
24 Mi noise le kiletsahna jong hi, pannabeija tot chaveipa kiseina ahibouve.
A bold and self-willed and insolent [man] is called a pest: and he that remembers injuries is a transgressor.
25 Mi thase ho chu aduchat uvin acham lou'a thina alhut ahi. Ajeh chu amahon akhut-u mangcha'a natoh ding anom pouve.
Desires kill the sluggard; for his hands do not choose to do anything.
26 Miphalou hon nitin in anei asit jing un, miching in anei ahom in, akile lah ngai poi.
An ungodly man entertains evil desires all the day: but the righteous is unsparingly merciful and compassionate.
27 Miphalou ho kilhaina gantha chu thet umtah ahina chungchon in, phatlouna lungpun hin phaldoh taleu, ichan geija thet um cheh ding hitam!
The sacrifices of the ungodly are abomination to the Lord, for they offer them wickedly.
28 Jou le nal seija hettohsah'a pang ho suhbeija um ding, hinlah adih'a hettohsah'a pangpa thusei min angaipeh jing ding ahi.
A false witness shall perish; but an obedient man will speak cautiously.
29 Miphalou chu adihlou'in aki ngamsah jin, hinlah mikitah chun atoh masang in ageltoh masa jin ahi.
An ungodly man impudently withstands with his face; but the upright man himself understands his ways.
30 Mihem chihna le hetkhen themna chule aguh a kithumop themna chengsea kon hin, Yahweh Pakai deh-jou ding aum poi.
There is no wisdom, there is no courage, there is no counsel against the ungodly.
31 Galsat nikhoa manchah din sakol gonsan aum in, hinlah gal-jona hi Yahweh Pakaija kon bou ahi.
A horse is prepared for the day of battle; but help is of the Lord.
