In the mouth of the foolish, there is a rod of arrogance. But the lips of the wise guard them.

Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is empty. But where there are many crops, there the strength of the ox is manifest.
5 Mi kitah hettoh sah-a apan teng jouthu asei ngai pon, mikitah lou hettoh sah-a apan teng jou le nal in thu aseijin ahi.
A faithful witness will not lie. But a deceitful witness offers a lie.
6 Michavai hon chihna ahol-un amu jou deh pouvin, hinlah thil hetthemna neipa ding in chihna hi nailam cha ahibouve.
A mocker seeks wisdom and does not find it. The doctrine of the prudent is accessible.
7 Mingol hoa kon'in kikhin mang in, ajeh chu amaho kamsunga kon'in chihna thu kisei japon nate.
Go against a foolish man, and he does not acknowledge lips of prudence.
8 Milungthim ching hon ajot nadiu lampi akihet-un, mingol ho vang joulhepna jeng ahi.
The wisdom of a discerning man is to understand his way. And the imprudence of the foolish is to be wandering astray.
9 Elohim Pathen in miphalou aphohsal jin, michonpha hon vang Elohim Pathen lunglhaina akimu jiuve.
The foolish will speak mockingly of sin. But grace lingers among the just.
10 Mihem lungthim hin gim le hesoh ahen, midang in akipanau chu ahetthem peh-un ahi.
The heart that knows the bitterness of its own soul, in its gladness the outsider shall not meddle.
11 Migilou ho inchu kiphet lhah peh ding, mikitah ho ponbuh vang dettah a kisong jing ding ahi.
The house of the impious will be wiped away. Yet truly, the tabernacles of the just shall spring forth.
12 Mihem khat'in achena lampi chu dih-in agel jin, hinlah alampi chu ajonaleh thina ahi.
There is a way which seems just to a man, but its conclusion leads to death.
13 Nuijat pat jeng in jong mihem alung kham jin, kipana jeng jong gimnan akichai-ji tai.
Laughter shall be mingled with sorrow, and mourning occupies the limits of joy.
14 Mikitah lou chu achena chan'a atohga aneh ding, hitobanga chu miphan jong atohga aneh ding ahi.
The foolish will be filled up by his own ways. And the good man shall be above him.
15 Mihem meimeija um chun akisei jouse atahsan jin, miching in vang achena ding akivet phet in ahi.
The innocent trust every word. The astute one considers his own steps. Nothing good will be for the deceitful son. But the wise servant shall act prosperously and his way will be set in order.
16 Miching hon chingthei tah'in thilse apeldoh jiuvin, mingol hon vang ngol han pum'in na atong jiuve.
The wise fear, and so turn away from evil. The foolish leap ahead with confidence.
17 Milungchom hon ngol hoitah in thil abol jiuvin, hinlah thil hethem mivang chu atomngai ahi.
The impatient will work foolishness. And a resourceful man is hated.
18 Mihem meimeija um chu ngolna ahin, miching hon hetna kiti hi lallukhuh a aneiyu ahi.
The childish will possess foolishness, and the discerning will anticipate knowledge.
19 Thilse kiti phot chu thilpha masanga dilsu ding, miphalou ho jong mikitah ho kelkot phunga dilsu diu ahi.
The evil will fall down before the good. And the impious will fall down before the gates of the just.
20 Mivaicha hohi ain-heng ho kisan in athet bol jiuvin, mihao ding in vang golpha atam jin ahi.
The pauper will be hated, even by his own neighbor. Yet truly, the friends of the wealthy are many.
21 Aheng akom ngailu lou mihem chu achonse ahin, mivaicha ho ngailua chu anunnom ahi.
Whoever despises his neighbor, sins. But whoever pities the poor shall be blessed. Whoever trusts in the Lord loves mercy.
22 Thilse jeng gel hon suhkhel anei tei jiuvin, thilpha jeng ngaito hon vang tahsanna le kitahna akimu jiuvin ahi.
They wander astray who work evil. But mercy and truth prepare good things.
23 Natoh hahsa kiti chun aphachom asoh tei ding, natoh beija thumot seina hin vaichat asoji ahi.
In every work, there shall be abundance. But where there are many words, there is often need.
24 Miching ho ding in chihna hi lallukhuh in apang jin, mingol ho ding in vang ngolna hi pahvui banga aki-o jiu ahi.
The crown of the wise is their wealth. The senselessness of the foolish is imprudence.
25 Mikitah hettohsah a apan teng mi tampi huhdoh jin, hinlah thujou seina hin mihem amanthah sahji ahi.
A faithful witness frees souls. And the chameleon utters lies.
26 Elohim Pathen ging kiti hi mihem dinga kisonna ahin, achate jeng jong ama'a kisel diu ahi.
In the fear of the Lord is the faithfulness of strength, and there shall be hope for his sons.
27 Yahweh Pakai gin kitihi hinna twinah tobang ahin, ajeh chu mihem in thina jeng jong apeldoh-ji ahi.
The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, so as to turn aside from the ruin of death.
28 Gamsunga cheng mipite apunbe teng lengpa loupina ahin, hinlah mihem lhomcha ahiteng milen milal dinga pannabei ahibouve.
In a multitude of people, there is dignity for the king. And in a paucity of people, there is disgrace for the prince.
29 Koi hileh lunghang vahlou chun thil hetthemna anei ahin, kino thethua lungchomna vang chun ngol-hoitah atoh doh ding ahi.
Whoever is patient is governed by much prudence. But whoever is impatient exalts his foolishness.
30 Lungneng tah'a um hi tahsa damna ahin, hinlah thangthipna kiti hi gu le chang in adoulel ahi.
The well-being of the heart is life for the flesh. But envy is decay for the bones.
31 Mivaicha sugenthei hon asempau Elohim Pathen ataitom nau ahin, amavang nei lou genthei khoto them chun asempa Elohim Pathen agin ahi.
Whoever slanders the indigent argues against his Maker. But he who has compassion on the poor honors his Maker.
32 Miphalou chu toset atosah in alehkhup jin, mikitah ding in vang bitna aum jing in ahi.
The impious will be expelled in his malice. But the just finds hope even in his own death.
33 Thil detkhen them mi chun chihna anei jing in, mingolte lungthim sunga vang chihna in mun aneipoi.
In the heart of the prudent, wisdom finds rest. And so shall he instruct all the uneducated.
34 Thudih hin mihem namkhat adom sang in, hinlah chonsetna hin mihem nam pumpi muda achansah ahi.
Justice elevates a nation. But sin makes the peoples miserable.
35 Lhacha chingtah'a natong hin, lengpa lunglam aboldoh jin, jachatna natongpa chunga lengpa alungkim jipoi.
An intelligent minister is acceptable to the king. Whoever is useless shall bear his wrath.
