1 Solomon thuchih ho: Chapa chingin apa aki pasah jin; Chapa ngol vang anu ding in lungkham na bep ahi.
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
2 Gitlouna le engset jeh’a kilamdoh gouchu phat chompi thei ahipon, hinlah chondih nahin hinkho jeng jong ahuhdoh jin ahi.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.
3 Pakaiyin michonpha chu kelthoh in akoi jipon, chule milungthim phalou ho ngaichat akhohsah jipoi.
The LORD will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry, but he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
4 Khut chaloh sah nomlou thase chun vaichatna alhut ding, khut umthim thei lou chun haosatna amu ding ahi.
He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.
5 Chapa ching in nipi laileh neh akikhol khomin, neh kikhol khom laiya kinomsah chapa vang chun jumna amu tei ding ahi.
He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame.
6 Michonpha luchanga phattheina gobang in ajun, midihlou ho kamsung'a vang pumtho changa thuseina jeng apot in ahi.
Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7 Midihpa chu akisumil thei jipon, midihlou ho min vang chomlou kah’a kisumil ding ahi.
The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.
8 Miching in thu kisei chan asanji ahen, amot a thusei vang chu mangthah ding ahi.
The wise in heart accept commandments, but a chattering fool will fall.
9 Lungthim kitah a kalsonna chu monna ahin, achena tinchang kisuh boi-achu matdoh a um tei ding ahi.
He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.
10 Aphalou lam galdot chun gimna asodoh jin, hangsan tah’a mi phohsal a sudih chun chamna asemdoh jin ahi.
The one who winks with the eye causes trouble, but the one who boldly rebukes makes peace.
11 Michonpha kamsung chu hinna twinah tobang ahin, miphalou ho kamsung'a vang pomthoa thuseina jeng apot in ahi.
The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
12 Kivetda nahin kinahna asodoh sah jin, ngailut na vang chun thilse jouse asel mang jitai.
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all wrongs.
13 Thil hetthemna neipa vang chun akamsunga kon thu aseidoh chan le chihna amu jin, lungthim beipa vang chun aphahsam a moltum adou jing ding ahi.
Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment, but a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.
14 Miching hon hetna akhol chen un, mingol kamtam hon hamset na akiloilut jiuvin ahi.
Wise men lay up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.
15 Mihaoho nei leh gou hi akulpia apang jin, vaichate neilal na vang chun manthahna asojin ahi.
The rich man's wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 Michonpha chun atohga dungjui’a hinna alhut jin, migilou ho phatchomna vang chun chonsetna alhut jitan ahi.
The labor of the righteous leads to life. The increase of the wicked leads to sin.
17 Min ahilna ngaipha chun hinna lam ajot jin, min aphona ngaimahpa vang chu avah mang jitai.
He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.
18 Alungthim’a mudana neipa chun jouthu jeng asei jin, mi enghotna thuseipa vang angol ahi.
He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool.
19 Thu tamseina hin seikhel le suhkhel aumsah teijin, hinlah akam kihup them mi chu mi ching ahi.
In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, but he who restrains his lips does wisely.
20 Midihpa kamcheng hi dangka manlu tobang ahin, midih lou ho lungthim vang pannabei jeng ahi.
The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth.
21 Midihpa kamsung'a kon in mitampi vahva na ding thu apot jin, mingol ho vang lungthim beijin amang thah jitauve.
The lips of the righteous feed many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.
22 Pakai phattheina chan hi haodohna ahin, hichun lungkhamna asodoh sah jipon ahi.
The LORD's blessing brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
23 Thilse bol hi mingol ding in kichep golnop abang jin, thil hetthemna neipa ding in limgeh a chon hi lungkimna ahi.
It is a fool's pleasure to do wickedness, but wisdom is a man of understanding's pleasure.
24 Miphalou in mi akichat sahna chu ama chunga ale-lhun jin, midih ding in angaichat chan Pathen in apeh tei ding ahi.
What the wicked fear, will overtake them, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.
25 Khopi hui alan a gopi ajuh teng, miphalou chu atoltha jitan, hinlah midih vang tonsot geija tundoh ahitai.
When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; but the righteous stand firm forever.
26 Juthuh hin ha ajatsah bang le, meikhun mit athipsah bang in, mithase jong agolpa ding in doujou ahipoi.
As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.
27 Pathen ginna hi hinkho sotna ahin, miphalou ho hinkho vang kisuchom ding ahi.
The fear of the LORD prolongs days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 Midih ho kinepna chu kipana ahin, miphalou ho kinepna vang pannabei ahi.
The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hope of the wicked will perish.
29 Milungthim dih ding in Pakai hi bitna ahin, thil phalou bolte dinga vang manthahna ahi.
The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright, but it is a destruction to evildoers.
30 Midih chu kisuloh lou hel ding, miphalou ho vang gamsunga kon’a kichon mang ding’u ahi.
The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land.
31 Midih kamsung'a kon in chihna apot jin, aphalouva thu motsei vang chu aleigui kitan ding ahi.
The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32 Midih chun akam sunga kon in lahthei aseidoh jin, miphalou ho kamsung'a kon in vang thu chavei jeng apot jin ahi.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
