< Obadiah 1 >

1 Hiche hi, Hatchunung Pakaiyin, Edom chungchang thu, Obadiah henga, themgao thilmua aphondoh chu ahi. Keihon Pakaija kon thu hung lhung kajauvin, Namtin vaipi lah’athupole palai khat a kisol in, “Amitakip kigosan um’un! Eiho kikou khom’u hitin, Edom douna gal satin konuhite,” tin asam tai.
The vision of Obadiah; what the Lord said about Edom: We have heard a report from the Lord, a messenger has been sent among the nations; Rise up, let us rise against Edom in battle!
2 Pakaiyin Edom dounan thu asei in, “Keiman namtin vaipi lah’a, nangma kasuh neo ding, nangma don louva notthap’a na um ding ahi.”
I will make you small among the nations, and despised by all!
3 Nalung sunga na kiletsahna chun na lheplhah ahi tai. Ajehchu, nangma song kulpi sunga na chengin chuleh molchunga chenna na kisemin, “Hilai mun gei a koiham eihol doh’a, eikai lha ding a” tin kiletsah tahin, na lungthimin naseiye.
Your proud heart has misled you, you who live in the clefts of the rock, you who build on high your dwelling. You say to yourselves, ‘Who can bring me down to earth?’
4 “Amavang, muvanlai bangin nang masang tahin leng sang inlang, ahsi holah'a chenna ding buhsa jongle chun, chukoma kon a chu keiman nangma kaloi lhah ding ahi,” tin Pakai in a seiye.
Though you build high as the eagle, though between the stars you set your nest, from there will I bring you down, says the Lord.
5 Gucha ho chu, jan teng hung’u hen lang na chom gam’u jong leh, amahon na nei na gou jouse ladoh chai deh pouvinte. Lengpi ga loukhoma pang hon jong, mivaicha gentheite dinga dalhah anei mong’u ahi. Ahinlah, namel maten vang nang leh na nei jouse abon’a phet gamhel diu ahi.
If thieves had come to you, marauders by night would they not have stolen only as much as they needed? If grape-gatherers had come to you would they not have left some gleanings?
6 Edom gamsung, aning akoikah jouse, akholuva chuleh achom gamhel diu ahin, anei agou jouseu jong ahol doh’uva akipoh mangsoh diu ahitai. Napan khompi jouse abon’uva nang dou’va hung pang diu, amahon, nagam sung’a kon’a nangma na hin deldoh dingu ahi. Na manthahna dinga na lhep’uva, chamna leh kitepna na sempi diu, na gol phatah tah hon jong, na kipalna ding thang nankam peh dingu, chuleh hichu nangman na hetdoh louhel ding ahi.
Descendents of Esau, all your treasures are looted.
7
To your border they have driven you, all your allies have betrayed you. Your avowed friends have overpowered you, they have set a trap for you. Where is your wisdom now?
8 Hiche nikho chuleh, Edom gamsung pumpia, miching ho khat jong kakhen lou ding, chule Edom molsang dunga um miho hetna jouse jong kasuhmang ding ahi, tin Pakai in aseiye.
The Lord says: On that day, I will destroy the wise of Edom, drive wisdom out of Mount Esau.

10 Ajeh chu, nangma nasopi pa Israel chunga nakhan gitlouna ho avaltan, nang chunga jum leh jachatna dim ding chutah leh atonsot’a ding’a na kisumang ding ahi.
Because of the violence done to your relatives, the people of Jacob, shame covers you, you are cut off forever.
11 Nangman, Israel chunga gal kibol khum nikho chun, nakihet mosahin, na kidalsen, amaho chu napanpi nompoi. Gamdang mi hon, Israelte nei le gou tampi apomangun, chuleh nasatahin Jerusalem khopi chu a susetauvin ahi. Hiche a hin, nangman nasopi Israel chu melma danin nagel tai.
In the day when you stood aloof, in the day when strangers carried away their wealth, and strangers entered into their gates, and over Jerusalem cast lots, you were as one of those strangers.
12 Na sopi soh changa kikaimang lai a, nangman amaho hamsetna chu, kipana nalah lou ding ahi. Kamiten gim hesoh athohpet’a, nangman a hamsetnau chu nakipapi lou ding ahi. Chuleh hiche hesoh genthei nikho’a chu, kiletsah ham-hoitho na bollou ding ahi.
You should not have gloated over your relatives, in the day of their misfortune. You should not have exulted over the land of Judah in the day of their destruction. You should not have laughed loudly at their distress.
13 Hitobang a kami Israelte, ahamset nikhouva, nangman agamsungu chu pumhata nalah lou ding ahi. Amaho hesoh gentheina chu, nangin kipana nalah lou ding ahi. Hiche nikho chuleh, nangman amaho nei le gou jong nachompeh lou ding ahi.
You should not have entered in at the gate of my people in the day of their disaster. You should not have gloated over their calamity, in the day of their disaster, nor stretched out your hand after their wealth in the day of their disaster,
14 Nangma, lam kasom jousea nadin’a, Judah mi kihinsona dinga jam doh go ho, nachan’a na tha lou ding ahi. Ahing doh amoh chengse jong, hitobang nikho’a chu, namat’a melmate khut’a na joh dohlou ding ahi.
nor stood at the crossroads to cut down their fugitives, nor should you have betrayed their refugees in the day of distress.

Near at hand is the Lord’s day for all the nations. As you have done so will it be done to you. Your deeds will come back on your own head.
16 Ka lhangtheng chunga, kamite ho naval lhum bang’a, nangleh akimvel’a cheng namtin vaipi, na chunguva gotna kabuh lhah’a, na don diu ahi. Namtin vaipi jouse chu kham diu, ageina lam’u kihelouva mangthah ding ahiuve.
As you have drunk upon my holy mountain, so all the nations will drink in turn; They will drink deep and be as though they had not been.
17 Amavang, ajamdoh chengsen, Zion molsang chu kititkhomna a aneiyuva, hoidohna khopia anei dingu ahi. Chuleh akhopi jong chu athenga hung um ding ahi. Chuleh Israel mite hung kile kituva, anei agou hou abon’a akilo kit diu ahi.
But on Mount Zion some will escape, it will be again holy, and those of the house of Jacob will again enter into their possessions.
18 Israel mite chu, meikong banga deujah diu, chuleh Edom mite vang, loujauva changkung gosa bang diu ahi. Joseph insung mite chu, Meikong leng leh meisi tobang hiding, loujaova umjouse akahvam ding ahi. Chutia chu, Edom’a koima ahing doh umlou ding ahiuve. Hiche hi, Pakai, keiman kasei doh ahitai.
For the house of Jacob will be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, but the house of Esau will become stubble. They will kindle and devour it. Not even one of the house of Esau will escape, for the Lord has spoken.
19 Chuteng, Negev gam’acheng kamiten, Edom molsang ho atoupha diu, Judah gam’a thinlhang chin’a chenghon, Philistine phaicham alo diu, chuleh Ephraim le Samaria gam’a loujao ho atoupha diu ahi. Benjamin insung miten vang Gilead gam alo diu ahi.
They will possess the Negeb and Mount Esau, and the Shephelah of the Philistines. They will possess the territory of Ephraim and Samaria, and Benjamin will possess Gilead.
20 Israel chate, migam’a soh chang ho chu, agamuva hung kilekit din u, chuleh amahon Phoenicia gamsung le Zarephath gamsung geija atoupha diu ahi. Chuleh, Jerusalema kon’a, kikaimanga sahlam gam’a soh chang hon, Negev gamsung khopi ho chu, alokit diu ahi.
The exiles of Israel will possess the land of the Canaanites as far as Zarephath. The captives of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the cities of the Negreb.
21 Ahing doh amoh chengse chu, Zion molsang a chetou diu, Jerusalem’akon’a Edom gamsung jousea vai apoh diu, chutah le Pakai amatah chu leng vaipo’a hung pang ding ahi.
The rescued will come up on Mount Zion to rule Mount Esau, and the kingdom will belong to the Lord.
