1 Hiche hi, Hatchunung Pakaiyin, Edom chungchang thu, Obadiah henga, themgao thilmua aphondoh chu ahi. Keihon Pakaija kon thu hung lhung kajauvin, Namtin vaipi lah’athupole palai khat a kisol in, “Amitakip kigosan um’un! Eiho kikou khom’u hitin, Edom douna gal satin konuhite,” tin asam tai.
The vision of 'Obadiah: Thus hath said the Lord Eternal concerning Edom, A rumor have we heard from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her to war.
2 Pakaiyin Edom dounan thu asei in, “Keiman namtin vaipi lah’a, nangma kasuh neo ding, nangma don louva notthap’a na um ding ahi.”
Behold, I make thee small among the nations: thou shalt be greatly despised.
3 Nalung sunga na kiletsahna chun na lheplhah ahi tai. Ajehchu, nangma song kulpi sunga na chengin chuleh molchunga chenna na kisemin, “Hilai mun gei a koiham eihol doh’a, eikai lha ding a” tin kiletsah tahin, na lungthimin naseiye.
The presumption of thy heart hath beguiled thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
4 “Amavang, muvanlai bangin nang masang tahin leng sang inlang, ahsi holah'a chenna ding buhsa jongle chun, chukoma kon a chu keiman nangma kaloi lhah ding ahi,” tin Pakai in a seiye.
Though thou wert to rise as high as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.
5 Gucha ho chu, jan teng hung’u hen lang na chom gam’u jong leh, amahon na nei na gou jouse ladoh chai deh pouvinte. Lengpi ga loukhoma pang hon jong, mivaicha gentheite dinga dalhah anei mong’u ahi. Ahinlah, namel maten vang nang leh na nei jouse abon’a phet gamhel diu ahi.
How? are thieves come to thee? or night-prowling robbers? how destroyed art thou! would they not have stolen till they had enough? if grape-gatherers had come to thee, would they not have left some gleanings?
6 Edom gamsung, aning akoikah jouse, akholuva chuleh achom gamhel diu ahin, anei agou jouseu jong ahol doh’uva akipoh mangsoh diu ahitai. Napan khompi jouse abon’uva nang dou’va hung pang diu, amahon, nagam sung’a kon’a nangma na hin deldoh dingu ahi. Na manthahna dinga na lhep’uva, chamna leh kitepna na sempi diu, na gol phatah tah hon jong, na kipalna ding thang nankam peh dingu, chuleh hichu nangman na hetdoh louhel ding ahi.
How are [the treasures] of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things laid open!
Up to the border have accompanied thee all the men of thy confederacy; beguiled, overcome thee have the men that were at peace with thee: [they that eat] thy bread have struck thee secretly a wound. There is no understanding in him.
8 Hiche nikho chuleh, Edom gamsung pumpia, miching ho khat jong kakhen lou ding, chule Edom molsang dunga um miho hetna jouse jong kasuhmang ding ahi, tin Pakai in aseiye.
Shall I not on that same day, saith the Lord, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
9 Temnan galhat pasal phapen ho jong kisu lung donguva, kicha gam diu, chuleh Edom molsang chunga ho jong abonchaova kithat gam soh heldiu ahi.
And thy mighty men, O Theman, shall be dismayed, in order that every one from the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
10 Ajeh chu, nangma nasopi pa Israel chunga nakhan gitlouna ho avaltan, nang chunga jum leh jachatna dim ding chutah leh atonsot’a ding’a na kisumang ding ahi.
Because of thy violence against thy brother Jacob shall shame cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
11 Nangman, Israel chunga gal kibol khum nikho chun, nakihet mosahin, na kidalsen, amaho chu napanpi nompoi. Gamdang mi hon, Israelte nei le gou tampi apomangun, chuleh nasatahin Jerusalem khopi chu a susetauvin ahi. Hiche a hin, nangman nasopi Israel chu melma danin nagel tai.
On the day that thou stoodest on the other side, on the day that strangers carried away captive his army, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots over Jerusalem, also thou wast as any one of them.
12 Na sopi soh changa kikaimang lai a, nangman amaho hamsetna chu, kipana nalah lou ding ahi. Kamiten gim hesoh athohpet’a, nangman a hamsetnau chu nakipapi lou ding ahi. Chuleh hiche hesoh genthei nikho’a chu, kiletsah ham-hoitho na bollou ding ahi.
But thou shouldst not have looked on [pleased] at the day of thy brother, on the day that he was delivered up to strangers; neither shouldst thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah on the day of their destruction; nor should thou have spoken proudly on the day of distress.
13 Hitobang a kami Israelte, ahamset nikhouva, nangman agamsungu chu pumhata nalah lou ding ahi. Amaho hesoh gentheina chu, nangin kipana nalah lou ding ahi. Hiche nikho chuleh, nangman amaho nei le gou jong nachompeh lou ding ahi.
Thou shouldst not have entered into the gate of my people on the day of their calamity; yea, thou too shouldst not have looked [pleased] on their affliction on the day of their calamity; nor have laid hands on their army on the day of their calamity;
14 Nangma, lam kasom jousea nadin’a, Judah mi kihinsona dinga jam doh go ho, nachan’a na tha lou ding ahi. Ahing doh amoh chengse jong, hitobang nikho’a chu, namat’a melmate khut’a na joh dohlou ding ahi.
Neither shouldst thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldst thou have delivered up those of his that did remain on the day of distress.
15 Keiman namtin vaipi jouse chunga thu katanna ding nikho anai tai. Nangman Israel chung a nabol bang banga, na chunga kibol ding ahi. Na thilse boldoh ga jouse, nangma luchung’a hung le chuh sohkei ding ahi.
For near is the day of the Lord over all the nations: as thou hast done, shall it be done unto thee; thy deeds shall return upon thy own head.
16 Ka lhangtheng chunga, kamite ho naval lhum bang’a, nangleh akimvel’a cheng namtin vaipi, na chunguva gotna kabuh lhah’a, na don diu ahi. Namtin vaipi jouse chu kham diu, ageina lam’u kihelouva mangthah ding ahiuve.
For as ye have drunk upon my holy mount, so shall all the nations drink continually; yea, they shall drink, and they shall reel about, and they shall be as though they had not been.
17 Amavang, ajamdoh chengsen, Zion molsang chu kititkhomna a aneiyuva, hoidohna khopia anei dingu ahi. Chuleh akhopi jong chu athenga hung um ding ahi. Chuleh Israel mite hung kile kituva, anei agou hou abon’a akilo kit diu ahi.
But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and it shall be holy: and the house of Jacob shall again possess their inheritances.
18 Israel mite chu, meikong banga deujah diu, chuleh Edom mite vang, loujauva changkung gosa bang diu ahi. Joseph insung mite chu, Meikong leng leh meisi tobang hiding, loujaova umjouse akahvam ding ahi. Chutia chu, Edom’a koima ahing doh umlou ding ahiuve. Hiche hi, Pakai, keiman kasei doh ahitai.
And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau become stubble, and they shall set them on fire, and devour them; and there shall not be any one remaining of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken it.
19 Chuteng, Negev gam’acheng kamiten, Edom molsang ho atoupha diu, Judah gam’a thinlhang chin’a chenghon, Philistine phaicham alo diu, chuleh Ephraim le Samaria gam’a loujao ho atoupha diu ahi. Benjamin insung miten vang Gilead gam alo diu ahi.
And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the lowlands, the Philistines; and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin [shall possess] Gil'ad.
20 Israel chate, migam’a soh chang ho chu, agamuva hung kilekit din u, chuleh amahon Phoenicia gamsung le Zarephath gamsung geija atoupha diu ahi. Chuleh, Jerusalema kon’a, kikaimanga sahlam gam’a soh chang hon, Negev gamsung khopi ho chu, alokit diu ahi.
And the exiles of this host of the children of Israel that are [with] the Canaanites, as far as Zarephath, and the exiles of Jerusalem, who are in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
21 Ahing doh amoh chengse chu, Zion molsang a chetou diu, Jerusalem’akon’a Edom gamsung jousea vai apoh diu, chutah le Pakai amatah chu leng vaipo’a hung pang ding ahi.
And deliverers shall go up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau: and the kingdom shall be the Lord's
