And YHWH speaks to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first of the second month, in the second year of their going out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 “Israel namsung pumpi a kon in aphung cheh uva kon a gal hangsanho leh ainsung mihou min jouseu aumden ding in jihlut cheh in. Pasalho jouse chu jihlut soh hel in.
“Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names—every male by their counted heads;
3 Kum somni apat chunglam gal boltheiho jouse chu Nang le Aaronnin amin u najihlut teitei lhon ding,
from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host in Israel, you number them by their hosts, you and Aaron;
4 chuleh hiche phungho jouse lah a kon a chu lamkai khat cheh in nangma nakithopi ding ahi.
and with you there is a man for a tribe, each is a head of the house of his fathers.
5 “Hiche phungho a kon a Lamkai hohi nakithopi dingho chu ahiuve. Reuben Shedeur chapa Elizur
And these [are] the names of the men who stand with you: for Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
6 Simeon Zurishaddai chapa Shelumiel
for Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
7 Judah Anminadab chapa Nahshon
for Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;
8 Issachar Zuar chapa Nethanael
for Issachar, Nathaneel son of Zuar;
9 Zebulun Helon chapa Eliab
for Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;
10 Joseph chapa Ephraim Ammihud chapa Elishama Joseph chapa Manasseh Pedahzur chapa Gamaliel
for the sons of Joseph: for Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; for Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
11 Benjamin Gideoni chapa Abidan
for Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;
12 Dan Ammishaddai chapa Ahiezer
for Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
13 Asher Ocran chapa Pagiel
for Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;
14 Gad Deuel chapa Eliasaph
for Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;
15 Naphtali Enan chapa Ahira
for Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”
16 Amahohi japilah akon a kilhengdoh lamkai cheh, apu apa phung kailhah a pat lamkaiho chuleh Israelte phung hoa kon a mi upa cheh ahiuve.”
These [are] those called of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers; they [are] heads of the thousands of Israel.
17 Hichun lamkai kilhen doh chengse chu Mose le Aaron in akou khom lhonin,
And Moses takes—Aaron also—these men, who were defined by name,
18 hiche nikho ma ma chun Israelte jalhang pumpin jong akhom tup lhonin ahi. Mipiho jouse chu ama ama phung leh insung cheh kailhah a konin amin akijihlut cheh in ahi. Pathen in Mose athupeh bangin, Israel pasal kum somnia pat chunglamse chu khat khatnin akijihlut in ahi.
and they assembled all the congregation on the first of the second month, and they declare their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names from a son of twenty years and upward, by their counted heads,
19 Hitichun Mose in amaho min jouse Sinai gamthip lai mun a chun anasutup soh keiyin ahi.
as YHWH has commanded Moses; and he numbers them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 Ama ama phung dungjui cheh a amin u kijihlut bang a pasal kum somnia pat achunglam galsat a konthei amijatho chu hicheng hi ahi. Phung Mijat Reuben (Jacob chapa tahpen) 46,500
And the sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, by their counted heads, every male from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Reuben, are forty-six thousand and five hundred.
22 Simeon 59,300
Of the sons of Simeon—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, its numbered ones in the number of names, by their counted heads, every male from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Simeon, [are] fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.
24 Gad 45,650
Of the sons of Gad—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Gad, [are] forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.
26 Judah 74,600
Of the sons of Judah—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Judah, [are] seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
28 Issachar 54,400
Of the sons of Issachar—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Issachar, [are] fifty-four thousand and four hundred.
30 Zebulun 57,400
Of the sons of Zebulun—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Zebulun, [are] fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.
32 Ephraim (Joseph chapa) 40,500
Of the sons of Joseph: of the sons of Ephraim—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Ephraim, [are] forty thousand and five hundred.
34 Manaseh(Joseph chapa) 32,200
Of the sons of Manasseh—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Manasseh, [are] thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
36 Benjamin 35,400
Of the sons of Benjamin—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Benjamin, [are] thirty-five thousand and four hundred.
38 Dan 62,700
Of the sons of Dan—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Dan, [are] sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
40 Asher 41,500
Of the sons of Asher—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Asher, [are] forty-one thousand and five hundred.
42 Napthali 53,400
Of the sons of Naphtali—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Naphtali, [are] fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
44 Israel phung somleni lamkaiho toh Mose le Aaron in akhumlut u pasalho cheng hi abonchauva ama ama phung chilhah dungjui cheh a kikhumlut cheh ahi uve.
These [are] those numbered, whom Moses numbered—Aaron also—and the princes of Israel, twelve men, each one has been [the representative] for the house of his fathers.
45 Amaho chu ama ama insung duijui cheh a kikhumlut ahiuve - Israelte pasal kiti pou kum somni apat chunglam gal bolthei jouse hi abonchauva a insung dung jui'a kijihlut cheh ahiuve.
And they are, all those numbered of the sons of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host in Israel,
46 Amaho chu agomma 603,550 ahiuve.
indeed, all those numbered are six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47 Ahinlah hiche kisim khomna a hin Levite vang apang pon ahi,
And the Levites, for the tribe of their fathers, have not numbered themselves in their midst,
48 Ajehchu, Pathen in Mose kom hitihin ana seiyin ahi,
seeing YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
49 Min najihlut teng Levite hi najihlut loubeh ding, Israel mite lah a nasim tha loubeh ding ahi.
“Only the tribe of Levi you do not number, and you do not take up their census in the midst of the sons of Israel;
50 Kikhop khomna ponbuh le aki mangcha thilho aboncha a Levite mopohna napehding, nachena chan uva Ponbuh le aman chah chengse aboncha amahon apoh uva, akimvella ngahmun semtoh thoa alhacha a pang ding ahiuve.
and you, appoint the Levites over the Dwelling Place of the Testimony, and over all its vessels, and over all that it has; they carry the Dwelling Place, and all its vessels, and they serve it; and they encamp around the Dwelling Place.
51 Kikhop khomna ngahmun chon phat alhin teng, Levi chapate cheng in aphet lhah diu, hitia chu ngahmun nalhun teng uleh amahon thah sondoh kit diu, ama vang koi hileh phalna beiya kikhop khomna ponbuh ganailut behseh chan chu thiding ahi.
And in the journeying of the Dwelling Place, the Levites take it down, and in the encamping of the Dwelling Place, the Levites raise it up; and the stranger who is coming near is put to death.”
52 Phung jousen ama ama insung ponlap cheh utoh ngahmun akisem diu ahi.
And the sons of Israel have encamped, each by his camp, and each by his standard, by their hosts;
53 Israel pumpi chung a Pakai lunghan louna dinga Levi chapaten vang kitepna ponbuh kimvella ngahmun akisem cheh uva avetsui diu ahi. Hitia chu hiche ponbuh ventupna chu Levite mopohna hiding ahi.
and the Levites encamp around the Dwelling Place of the Testimony; and there is no wrath on the congregation of the sons of Israel, and the Levites have kept the charge of the Dwelling Place of the Testimony.
54 Hitichun Pathen in Mose henga athupeh bangtah chun Israel chaten emajouse aboltauvin ahi.
And the sons of Israel do according to all that YHWH has commanded Moses; so they have done.
