This is the account of Aaron and Moses at the time the LORD spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, then Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

These were Aaron’s sons, the anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests.
4 Ahinlah Nadab le Abihu chu Pathen umpet a Sinai gamthip a maicham asemlai uva Pathen thupeh toh kikal a meikong dihlou ahal lhon jeh chun, ani lhonin hiche muna chun athilhon tan ahi. Chapa dang aneitahlou jeh in kintheng natong ding chu adalhahlhon Eleazer le Ithamar chutoh apalhon Aaraon chubou ahitauve.
Nadab and Abihu, however, died in the presence of the LORD when they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD in the Wilderness of Sinai. And since they had no sons, only Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father Aaron.

Then the LORD said to Moses,
6 Levi phung le changho chu koukhom min lang, Aaron kintheng natoh ga kithopi ding in gapuiyin.
“Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him.
7 Amaho chu Aaron leh mipijenlea pang ding u, houbuh leh akimvel a kintheng natong a pang ding ahiuve.
They are to perform duties for him and for the whole congregation before the Tent of Meeting, attending to the service of the tabernacle.
8 Levite jousen hiche ponbuh theng chu avettup dingu Israel mipite thalheng a ponbuh maicham a chu kin thengna atoh diu ahi.
They shall take care of all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and fulfill obligations for the Israelites by attending to the service of the tabernacle.
9 Levi chilhahho jouse chun Aaron leh achapate vaihomna noi a umsah in. Amaho chu Israel mipiho jouse lah a kon a Aaron le achapate jenle ding leh kithopi ding a kipehdoh ah ahitauvin ahi.
Assign the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they have been given exclusively to him from among the Israelites.
10 Aaron le achapateho jouse chun thempu kintheng na atoh ding uvin seipeh in. Koi hijongleh nganse changlou a muntheng ganailut hochu thitei teidiu ahi.
So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons to carry out the duties of the priesthood; but any outsider who approaches the tabernacle must be put to death.”
11 Chuin Pakaiyin Mose kom a asei in,
Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
12 “Ven, Levite hi Israel japi lah kon a Israel chapate apengmasa jouse thalheng a natong ding a kalhendoh ahitai. Leviteho jouse keiya ahi.
“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel in place of every firstborn Israelite from the womb. The Levites belong to Me,
13 Ajehchu chapa tahpen jouse keima a ahi. Egypt chapate lah a apeng masa jouse kanasuhgam nikho apatna keima Israel chapa tahpen jouse hi keidia atumbeh a ka lhendohsa ahin, mihem a hihen gancha a hi jongleh amaho jouse chu keia ahiuve; Keima Pakai chu kahi.”
for all the firstborn are Mine. On the day I struck down every firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They are Mine; I am the LORD.”
14 Pakaiyin Sinai molchung a chun Mose hengah thu aseikit in, hiti hin ati,
Then the LORD spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, saying,
15 “Levite chu ama ama insung leh phung kailhah in amin u jihlut cheh in. Pasal jouse lhakhat a pat chunglam se jihlut in.”
“Number the Levites by their families and clans. You are to count every male a month old or more.”
16 Hichun Mose chun Pakai thupeh bang chun minho chu ajihlut tan ahi.
So Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he had been commanded.
17 Levi in chapa thum aneiyin, amaho chu Gershon, Kohath chule Merari ahiuve.
These were the sons of Levi by name: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
18 Gershon a kon a phungguiho chu ama chilhahte lah a kon a mini min, Libni leh Shimei a kiminsah ahiuve.
These were the names of the sons of Gershon by their clans: Libni and Shimei.
19 Kohath akon a phungguiho chu ama chilhah a kon miliho- Amran, Izhar, Hebron chule Uzzeil a kiminsah ahiuve.
The sons of Kohath by their clans were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
20 Merari a kon a phungguiho chu ama chilhahte lah a kon a mini min, Mahli le Mushi a kiminsah ahiuve.
And the sons of Merari by their clans were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of the Levites, according to their families.
21 Gershon chilhahte chu Libni le Shimei phunggui akon ahiuvin ahi.
From Gershon came the Libnite clan and the Shimeite clan; these were the Gershonite clans.
22 Gershonte phunggui a kon a Pasal kum khat a pat chunglam chu abonchauvin mi 7,500 aum uve.
The number of all the males a month old or more was 7,500.
23 Amaho chu houbuh akon a lhumlam lang chu angahmun kisahna ding uva kipedoh ahiuve.
The Gershonite clans were to camp on the west, behind the tabernacle,
24 Gershonte phungho chung a lamkai a ana pang chu Lael chapa Eliasaph ahi.
and the leader of the families of the Gershonites was Eliasaph son of Lael.
25 Hiche phung teni chung a mopohna a um chu ahileh houbuh avetsui diu, ponbuhtheng leh achung a kidal akhuna chengse ahin, maicham ponbuh lutna phung a kikhai pondal ahin,
The duties of the Gershonites at the Tent of Meeting were the tabernacle and tent, its covering, the curtain for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,
26 Maicham ponbuh leh maicham phung kimvel a ki-dah pondal chengse ahin, a khaoho ahin, chuleh manchah akimangcha ding jouse jaona a ahiye.
the curtains of the courtyard, the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard that surrounds the tabernacle and altar, and the cords—all the service for these items.
27 Kohath chilhahte chu Amram, Izhar, Hebron chule Uzziel phung a kon ahiuve.
From Kohath came the clans of the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites; these were the clans of the Kohathites.
28 Gershonte phunggui a kon a Pasal kum khat a pat chunglam chu abonchauvin mi 8,600 aum uvin, amaho chu muntheng ventup leh vettupna mopohna kipe ahiuvin,
The number of all the males a month old or more was 8,600. They were responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.
29 chuleh angahmun sahna ding uva Houbuh a kon a lhanglam kipe ahiuve.
The clans of the Kohathites were to camp on the south side of the tabernacle,
30 Kohath phungho chung a lamkai a ana pang chu Uzzeil chapa Elizaphan ahi.
and the leader of the families of the Kohathites was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.
31 Hiche phung li ho hin Pathen thingkhong, dokhang, thaomei khom, maicham phungho, houbuh sung a kimang thil le lo chom chomho, asung dan pondal, chuleh amaho manchah ding a angaicha jouse chung a mopohna anei ding u ahi.
Their duties were the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the articles of the sanctuary used with them, and the curtain—all the service for these items.
32 Thempupa Aaron chapa Eleazer chu, Levite ho jouse chung a vaihom pipu anahin, houbuh sung a nakitong jouse vetup ding a deichom a mopohna kipe ahi
The chief of the leaders of the Levites was Eleazar son of Aaron the priest; he oversaw those responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.
33 Merari chilhahte chu Mushi le Mahli phung a kon ahiuve.
From Merari came the clans of the Mahlites and Mushites; these were the Merarite clans.
34 Merari phunggui a kon a Pasal kum khat a pat chunglam chu abonchauvin mi 6,200 aum uve.
The number of all the males a month old or more was 6,200.
35 Amaho chu houbuh akon a Sahlam lang chu angahmun kisahna ding uva kipedoh ahiuve. Merari phungho chung a lamkai a ana pang chu Abihal chapa Zuriel ahi.
The leader of the families of the Merarites was Zuriel son of Abihail; they were to camp on the north side of the tabernacle.
36 Hiche phung teni hin houbuh thingkolho, ingolvaiho, akhumho, akhumdouho leh amaho manding manchah ho jouse avetup diu ahi.
The duties assigned to the sons of Merari were the tabernacle’s frames, crossbars, posts, bases, and all its equipment—all the service for these items,
37 Chuleh houbuh kimvel a palkhumho leh athehho ahin, akikhainaho le khaoho jouse jong avettup ding u ahi.
as well as the posts of the surrounding courtyard with their bases, tent pegs, and ropes.
38 Maicham ponbuh mai lhang, solam niso lamkot lang sese chu, Israel mipi ho thalheng a Houbuh muntheng a natohna ding a mopohna nunungpen kipe, Mose le Aaron chapate ponbuh kisahna dinga ana kikoitup a ahi. Koi hijeng jong leh Thempu le Levite tilou Houbuh muntheng maicham lang hin nailailut tapou chu tha jeng ding ahi.
Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the sunrise, before the Tent of Meeting. They were to perform the duties of the sanctuary as a service on behalf of the Israelites; but any outsider who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.

The total number of Levites that Moses and Aaron counted by their clans at the LORD’s command, including all the males a month old or more, was 22,000.
40 Hichun Pakaiyin Mose jah a aseiyin, “Tun nangman Israelte chapate apeng masa lhakhat lhingtasa apat chunglam jouse amin u jih lut in.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Number every firstborn male of the Israelites a month old or more, and list their names.
41 Keima Pakai kahin, keima ding a Levite chu, Israel chapa tahpenho thalhelng ding a kikoitup teitei ding ahi. Chuleh Israelte pumpi a gancha apengdoh masa ho khel ding a Levite gancha ho chu kikoitup teitei ding ahi.
You are to take the Levites for Me—I am the LORD—in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of all the firstborn of the livestock of the Israelites.”
42 Hitichun Mosen Pathen thupeh bangtah in Israel chapate lah a atahpen ho chu asimtan ahi.
So Moses numbered all the firstborn of the Israelites, as the LORD had commanded him.
43 Lhakhat a lhingsa leh achunglam chapa tahpenho chu 22,273 anahiuve.
The total number of the firstborn males a month old or more, listed by name, was 22,273.
44 Hichun Pakaiyin Mose jah a aseiyin,
Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
45 “Levite chu Israel chapate lah a atahpen ho thalheng chun la in. Chuleh Israelte gancha apeng masa ho khel ding a Levite gancha ho chu nalah ding ahi. Keima Pakai kahi, Levite chu keiya ahibouve.
“Take the Levites in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites belong to Me; I am the LORD.
46 Levite sang in Israel chapate apeng masa mi 273 in atamjo uvin ahi. Amaho lhatdoh a aum thei na ding un,
To redeem the 273 firstborn Israelites who outnumber the Levites,
47 mikhat cheh a ding a Sumgoi a Shekel nga nalahkhom ding, hiche shekel chu muntheng laiya shekel ho toh agihdan nakibahsah ding, gerah somnia shekel khat dungjuiya nate ding ahi.
you are to collect five shekels for each one, according to the sanctuary shekel of twenty gerahs.
48 Chapa pengmasa avahdoh ho lhatdoh na ding in hiche sum chu Aaron le achapate petan.”
Give the money to Aaron and his sons as the redemption price for the excess among the Israelites.”
49 Hiti chun Levite jat sang a hung tamjo Israel chapa tahpen ho lhatdoh a aum nading uvin Mosen in sum ho chu achom khom in ahi.
So Moses collected the redemption money from those in excess of the number redeemed by the Levites.
50 Aman Israel chapate lah a apengmasa ho thalheng chun sum pum 1,365 achomdoh in ahi. Hiche ho khat cheh hi muntheng a Shekel khat cheh toh agihdan kibang cheh ahiuve.
He collected the money from the firstborn of the Israelites: 1,365 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel.
51 Chuin Pathen in thu apeh bang bang chun, akilhatdoh thei nadiuvin Mose in hiche sumho chu Aaron le achapate apetan ahi.
And Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and his sons in obedience to the word of the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.
