Matthew 23
1 Chutah in Yeshuan mi honpi le aseijuiho jah a chun,
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 “Hou Dan thuhil hole Pharisee ho Mose Danbu ho sutoh dinga houhil lamkaiya lhen doh ahiuve.”
Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
3 Hijeh chun amahon nahil chan'u chu bol un chule nahil nauva aseiyu ngaiyun, hinlah aum chan'u vang jui hih un. Ajeh chu amahon ahilu chu abol pouve.
All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4 Amaho hin mihon apoh joudiu kalval chonna angeh un, hinlah pohgih ngai jangna ding in akhut jung khat'u jong chasah lou ahiuve.
For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
5 “Athilbol jouseu chu mimu dinga bou bol ahiuve. Abanjang uva taona bom akoiyun, asungah Pathen Lekhabua thucheng kijih aneiyun, chule amahon sangkhol chol mong kailha agei kikhit ho akiah-uve.”
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6 Chule amaho hi anneh khomna dokhang mun thupi laiya touva chule hou-kikhopna in'a jabolna'a tou anom'uvin ahi.
And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7 Amahon kailhang mun'a min jaboltah'a alem diu adeiyun, chule houhil ati diu adei-uve.
And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8 “Koiman houhil nati diu janom hih un, ajeh chu nanghon houhil khat naneiyun, chule nangho nabon chauva sopite hina a kibang cheh nahiu ahi.”
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9 Chule hiche leiset chunga koima Pa sah hih un, ajeh chu vana um Pathen chu Lhagaova na-Pau ahi.
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10 Chule koiman nangho houhil tin kikousah hih un, ajeh chu nanghon houhil naneiyun, Messiah chu ahi.
Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11 Nalah uva alen pen hinoma chu soh ahi angaiye.
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 Hinlah ama kichoisang ho chu kisu nem'intin, chule akingai nem ho chu kichoi sang ding ahiuve.
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
13 “Itobang lunghemnan nahin phah diu hitam nangho hou dan thuhil hole Pharisee ho. Mipha lhem ho! Ajeh chu miho maikoh'ah nanghon Van Lenggam kot chu nakhah'un ahi. Nang hola nalut pouvin chule midang ho jong alut diu na janom deh pouve.”
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
14 “Itobang lunghemnan nahin phah diu hitam nangho Hou dan thuhil hole Pharisee ho. Miphalhem ho! Nanghon meithai ho anei-agou thil chung'ah jachatna thei leuvin dohan nabol'un, chule hou ngaisah tah tobang'in mipi lah'a sotpi natao un ahi. Hiche jeh'a hi gimbolna nasatah kipe ding nahiuve.”
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
15 “Itobang lunghemnan nahin phah diu hitam nangho Hou dan thuhil hole Pharisee ho. Miphalhem ho! Ajeh chu nanghon mi khat na loilutna ding un, gam tina twikhanglen gal geiyin navah leuvin, chule khat touvin lung ahin heiya ahileh nangho amachu nivei jen Damun cha in nasem un, nangho jong nahiu ahi!” (Geenna g1067)
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
16 “Mitcho lamhil ho! Itobang lunghemna in nahin pha diuvem! Ajeh chu nang hon Pathen hou-in'a kihahsel ima akhohpoi natiuve; hinlah hou-in sunga Sana'a kihahsel chu khoh'ah ahi, natiuve.”
Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17 Mitcho mingol ho! Hou-in'a sana ahilouleh Hou-in sana suthenga chu hoijoh thupijo hintem?
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
18 Chule nanghon maicham muna kihahsel chu imacha akhohpoi, hinlah maicham chunga thil kipedoh'a kihahsel chu khoh ahi, natiuve.
And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
19 Itobang loma mitcho nahiu ham! Maicham chunga thilto kichoi chuleh thilto suthenga maicham joh chu hoiche thupijo ham?
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20 Nangho maicham pan'a nakihahsel tenguleh hiche maichama kihahsela chule maicham chunga umho geiya chu kihahsela nahi tai.
Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
21 Chule nangho Hou-in pan'a na kihahsel tenguleh hiche maicham munle maichama cheng Pathen'a kihahsel nahiu ahitai.
And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
22 Chule van min pan'a nakihahsel teng Pathen laltouna le Pathen laltouna'a toupa'a chu kihahsel nahi ahitai.
And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
23 “Itobang lung hemnan nahin phah diu hitam nangho Houdan thuhil ho le Pharisee ho. Miphalhem ho! Ajeh chu nanghon nahonsoh uva kona muchi neopen geiyin som'a khat napeuve, hinlah danthupeh akhohjo, adih'a thutan khotona chule tahsan nahsah in nagel pouve!”
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
24 Mitcho lamhil ho! Thousi vaibong naval louna ding uvin twina lhiu vin, hilah nanghon sangongsang napum val uve!
Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
25 “Itobang lunghemnan nahin phah diu hitam nangho Houdan Thuhil hole Pharisee ho. Miphalhem ho! Ajeh chu nanghon khon le kong chu apolam siltheng nathem un, hinlah nasung lamu, chip setna le kichang khohsahnan nadim uve.”
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
26 Mitcho Pharisee ho! Amasan khon le kong chu asung soptheng un, chutengleh apolam jong chu hungtheng tante.
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
27 “Itobang lunghemnan nahin phah diu hitam nangho Houdan Thuhil hole Pharisee ho. Miphalhem ho! Ajeh chu lhan kiloibang tobangbep nahiuve, apolam vet hoi, hinlah nasunglam'u mithi gu le nen dimset nahiuve.”
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Polama vet ding'in midihho to nakilou uvin, hinlah nasung gil lamu phatlhemna le danbei nahibou uve.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
29 “Itobang lunghemnan nahin phah diu hitam nangho Houdan thuhil hole Pharisee ho. Miphalhem ho! Ajeh chu nanghon napu napa teuvin anathau themgao hole Pathen ngaisah ho lhan chu nasemhoiyun ahi.”
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
30 Chujongleh nanghon kapu kapateu phatlai chun keiho anahing leuveng themgao ho athanauva kajaolou beh dingu ahi, natiuve.
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31 “Hinlah hitia nasei jeng vangun, nanghon themgao that ho sonle chi lhah nahiuve tiphot chetna nakiphondoh u ahiye.”
Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
32 Cheuvin lang napu napa teuvin ana-patsau chu nanghon gabulhit un.
Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? (Geenna g1067)
34 “Hijeh'a chu keiman themgao ho le miching ho chule Houdan thuhil ho na henguva ka hinsol ahi. Hinlah nanghon abang chu thingpela na khetbeh dingu, chule adangse chu hou ki khopna in'a najep dingu, chule khopi khat'a kona khopi choma nadelle dingu ahi.”
Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35 Hitia chu michonpha Abel kitha'a pat Barachiah chapa Zechariah Hou'in maicham teni kikah'a kithat ho jouse chunga themmona nahin kipoh dingu ahi.
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36 Thutahbeh kaseipeh nahiuve, hiche thutanna hi tukhang mite chunga hung lhung ding ahi.
Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
37 “Vo Jerusalem, Jerusalem themgao ho that le Pathen thupole ho that'a pangho! Ahpin anoute alhaving tenia a-opkhum tobanga nachateu itobang tah'a kakhoptup kigot hitam! Hinlah nanghon neiphal peh pouve.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Chule tun veuvin, na in'u chu dalhahsa le ahomkeo ahitai.
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
39 Ajeh chu hiche thutahbeh hi kaseipeh nahiuve, hiche thutanna hi tukhang mite chunga chu ding ahi!”
For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
