< Matthew 22 >
1 Yeshuan amaho chu thulem dang jong aseipeh in ahi. Aman ajah uva,
And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 “Van Lengam chu lengkhat in achapa jineina golvah loupitah abol thusim toh tekah thei ahi.
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 Neh le don ding gontupsoh ahiphat in, asohte asolin akikou ho chu agahetsah tauve. Ahin, amaho abon'un ahungnom tapouve.”
And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 “Hiti chun aman asoh dangho chu amaho gaseipeh dingin asolin, Golvah anneh ding gontupsa ahitai. Bongchal hole gancha thaotah ho chu kithat a, ijakai kigong tupma ahitai. Ankong um ding'in hung un agatisah-e.”
Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and [my] fatlings [are] killed, and all things [are] ready: come unto the marriage.
5 Hinlah akikou ho chun anahsah pouvin chule ama lampi cheh'a ache tauve, khat alouva, achom dang khat akiveinaa,
But they made light of [it], and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 Adang-sen asottol leho chu aman'un chule jachat umtah in abol'un chule athat tauve.
And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew [them].
7 “Lengpa chu alung hang in, chule asepaite asoldoh in tolthat ho chu asumang'in chule akhopiu jong ahal tauve.”
But when the king heard [thereof], he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Chule aman asohte jah a, Golvah an gonsan aumtai, chule jin'a kikouho jong jaboltah a kilom ahipouve.
Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9 Tun lamlhong aningkoi tin'ah cheuvin chule namu mu hou chu gakou uvin, ati.
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 Hiti chun sohte chun amu chanu chu mipha le miphalou geiyin akou uvin ahileh, golvah in chu jin adim tai.
So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 “Hinlah lengpa chu jinho kimu pia ahunga ahileh, aman mikhat chu kichenna Golvah vona kivonlou amudoh tai.”
And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 Aman ajah a, kichenna Golvah vona kivon louva iti dana hikoma naum ham tia adoh le imachan adonbut tapoi.
And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Chutah in lengpa chun alhachate ho jah a akhut le akeng ho kan'un lang chule polam muthima lehdoh tauvin, hichea chu kana le hagelna um ding ahi.
Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast [him] into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 “Ajeh chu mitampi kikouva ahi, hinlah mi themcha bou deilhen ahi,” ati.
For many are called, but few [are] chosen.
15 Chutah in Pharisee ho akihou-un Yeshua chu athuseiya kipal sah'a mat ding angaito tauve.
Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in [his] talk.
16 Amahon aseijuiteu phabep asol'un, chule Herod lama pangho jong jaotha ahiuve. Amahon “Houhil,” mikitah nahi ti kaheuve. “Nangman Pathen lampi dihtah nahil'in koima dat-khen naneipoi chule maipha nave poi,” atiuvin ahi.
And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any [man]: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17 “Tun hiche thua hi ipi nagel em neiseipeh'un: Caesar henga kai peh hi dih'am ole dihlou ham?” atiuve.
Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 Hinlah Yeshuan alunggel'u phalou chu ahen, aseiyin, “Nangho mi phalhem ho! Ipi dinga doha'a neimat got'u ham?”
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, [ye] hypocrites?
19 Kai kipehna sum chu neivetsah un, ati. Ama hon Rome te sum avetsah tauve.
Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20 Aman adong in, “Koilim le koipen min ham?” tin adong tai.
And he saith unto them, Whose [is] this image and superscription?
21 Amahon adonbut'un, “Caesar a,” atiuve. Aman aseipeh in, “Caesar a chu Caesar peuvin, chule Pathen achu Pathen peuvin,” ati.
They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.
22 Aman adonbutna chu adatmo-uvin chuin achemang tauve.
When they had heard [these words], they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
23 Hiche nikho mama chun Sadducee hon mithi ho thokitna aumpoi ti hou lamkai ho Yeshua henga ahung un, hiche thudoh hi ahung bol tauve.
The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 “Houhil, Mose chun mi koi ham khat cha neilouva athi khahtah'a ahileh anaopa chun meithainu chu akichenpia chule acha chun aupa min apohding ahi ati.
Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Aphai, vetsahnan sopi pasal sagi aume. Atahpen pa chun ji aneiyin cha neilou vin athitai, chuti chun asopipa chun meithainu chu akichen pitai.
Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Hinlah asopi ani napa jong chu athitan, chule asopi athum channa pan amanu chu akichenpi tai. Asagina chan in hiti chun abonchauvin aum tauve.
Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 Achainan, numeinu jong athitai.
And last of all the woman died also.
28 Hijeh chun neiseipeh un, thokitna'a chu koipen ji hiding hitam? Ajeh chu asagi-uva chu amanu akichenpiu ahi” tin adong tauve.
Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Yeshuan adonbut in, “Pathen Thule Pathen Thahatna nahet lou jeh uva nasuhkhel jiu ahi.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 Ajeh chu mithiho chu thokitna'a amaho kicheng talou, kichen jong kibolsah talou ahiuve. Amaho chu vana Vantilte tobang ahiuve.
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 Hinlah tun, mithiho thokitna umham tithua Pathen Thua nasimdoh khahlouvu ham? Masang peh'a anathisaho Abraham, Isaac chule Jacob ho chu athijoupeh uvin, Pathen in aseiyin,
But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 Keima Abraham, Isaac chule Jacob Pathen kahi. Hitia chu Ama ahing ho Pathen ahin, athiho Pathen ahipoi,” ati.
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33 Mihonpi chun athusei ajah phat un, athuhil chu adatmo lheh tauve.
And when the multitude heard [this], they were astonished at his doctrine.
34 Ahin aman Sadducee ho paomo hel'a alha chu Pharisee hon ajahdoh phat un, amaho akikhom un, ama thudohna neikit ding'in akinopto tauve.
But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35 Amaho lah'a mikhat Hou Dan thuthem khat chun hiche thudoh'a hi kipalsah ding agon ahi.
Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying,
36 “Houhil, Mose dan dung juiya hoipen hi thupeh lenpen ham?” ati.
Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?
37 Yeshuan adonbut in, “Nangman Pakai na Pathen chu nalung pumpia, nahinna pumpia chule nalungthim pumpia na-ngailut ding ahi.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 Hiche hi thupeh amasa le alenpen ahitai.
This is the first and great commandment.
39 Anina jong athupina kibang ahi. Nangma na kingailut banga naheng nakom na-ngailut ding ahi.
And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 Hiche thupeh tenia hi Dan thu apumpi le themgao hon angeh jouseu chu kikhaiya ahi,” ati.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
41 Hipet chun Pharisee hon aum-kimvel un, Yeshuan amaho thudoh khat adongin:
While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 “Messiah chung chang thua ipi nagel uvem? Ama koicha ham? ati. Amahon adonbut un, Ama David Chapa ahi,” atiuve.
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, [The Son] of David.
43 Yeshuan adonbut in, “Chuti ahileh iti dan'a David chun Lhagao Theng'in ahetsa'a kona Messiah chu ‘Ka-Pakai’ ati hintem?” Ajeh chu David chun,
He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 Pakai chun kapakai koma, Keiman na melmate kasuh nem'a nakengto noiya ka koi masang sen, kijabolna kakhut jet'ah tou jingin, ati.
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 David in Messiah chu Ka-Pakai, tia akou thei leh, Messiah chu iti achapa hithei ding ham? ati.
If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 Chuin koima chan ama chu adonbut thei tapouve. Chule hiche jouva pat chun, koiman thudoh abolngam tapouve.
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any [man] from that day forth ask him any more [questions.]
