< Matthew 16 >

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
2 Aman adonbut in, “Nanghon janteng van asan le jing leh kho phading ahi natiuvin,
He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3 Jingkah a van asan le nilhuma kho phalou ding ahi natiuva nahet'u ahi. Nanghon kho phat ding thua vana melchihna a kona nahet'u ahi, hinlah phat umdol amelchihna na hedoh thei pouve.
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
4 Khang gilou le jonthan hoina khang miten melchihna kidang ahol uve, hinlah melchihna khat bou amaho kapeh dingu chu Themgao Jonah melchihna bou hiding ahi,” ati.
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them, and departed.
5 Chuche jouvin, Dillen langkhat lama agalkai phat in, seijui hon changlhah apoh lou uchu ahin geldoh tauve.
And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
6 Yeshuan amaho agih salin, “Pharisee ho le Sadducee ho chol'a kon in kichih theiyun,” ati.
Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
7 Amahon changlhah apoh tahlou jeh'u chun khat le khat akinel den tauve.
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
8 Yeshuan amahon ipi seija ahiu chu ahen, hiti chun, “Na tahsanu alhom tave! Changlhah neilou jeh'a ipi dia kinela nahi uvem?
Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
9 Tugeiya hi nahetdoh lou uham? Mi sang nga changlhah pheng nga'a kavahva chu aval paipeh ijat nalodoh'u hitam?
Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10 Ahilou jongleh mi sang li changlhah pheng sagia, chule aval paipeh tamtah nalodoh uchu?
Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11 Ipi iti dana changlhah chung thua kasei ahipoi ti hedoh theilou nahi uvem? Hitia hi avela kasei ahi, Pharisee ho leh Sadducee ho chol lah achun kichih theiyun kati ahi,” ati.
How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
12 Chuphat in anunung pena, Aman changlhah'a chol thu asei hilouva, Pharisee ho le Sadducee ho doha lhep lhahna thuhil aneiyuva achihthei diuva ahil chu ahedoh tauve.
Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
13 Yeshuan Caesarea Philippi ahunggei phat in, aseijui ho jah a “Mihon, Mihem Chapa hi koi ahi atiuvem?” tin adong tai.
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 Amahon adonbut un, “Mi phabep chun Twilutsah John ahi atiuvin, mi phabep chun Elijah ahi atiuvin, chule adang phabepma chun Jeremiah ahilouleh themgao ho lah'a khatpen hinte,” atiuve.
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
15 Chujouvin, amaho chu thu adong in, “Nanghon koi ahi neitiu vem?” ati.
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 Simon Peter in adonbut in, “Nangma Messiah, Pathen hing Chapa nahi,” ati.
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 Yeshuan adonbut in, “Nangma anunnom a nahi, John chapa Simon, ajeh chu nangman mihem koima'a kona nahet ahipon, vana ka-Pan na henga hiche hi ahin phondoh ahi.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 Na henga kasei ahi, nangma Peter (Song) nahi, chule hiche Songpi (Christa) chunga hi Ka houbung Ka tundoh ding ahi, chule Damun thaneina in ajo joulou ding ahi. (Hadēs g86)
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Assembly; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
19 Chule Keiman Van gam kot heh ho kapeh ding nahi. Leiset chunga ipi hijongleh bollou dinga na thupeh chan chu vana jong kibol lou ding, chule leiset chunga ipi hijongleh na noppeh chan chu vana jong kinop peh ding ahi,” ati.
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be that which is bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be that which is loosed in heaven.
20 Chujouvin Aman aseijui ho jah achun koima koma Messiah ahi chu, aphondoh louna ding uvin hatah in agihtai.
Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22 Hinlah Peter chun Ama apuidoh in chule chutia thu asei chu haphon aphoh in, “Pakai Vanin jong oiponte, hiche hi na chunga lhung hih beh jeng hen,” atitai.
Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23 Yeshua, Peter lama aki heiyin, ajah a, “Satan, kakoma konin chemang in! Nang hi keima dinga tijat um thangkol nahi! Nangman Pathen a kon hilouvin mihem lunggel a kona navet jeh ahi,” ati.
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
24 Chuphat in Yeshuan aseijuite koma, “Nalah uva koi hijongleh eijui noma chun, nacham chon nauva kona nahung kiheiyuva, na thingpel nakiput uva, chule neijui diu ahi.
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 Na hinkhou naki kolchah jom uva ahileh, na mansah dingu ahi. Hinlah nanghon keima jal'a nahin nau naphal doh uva ahileh, naki huhhing diu ahi.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 Chule vannoi apumpi nanga hihen lang, na hinna chan tale chun ipi phachom ding ham? Na hinna sanga man lujo ipi um nalaiyem?
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 Ajeh chu Mihem Chapa hi avantil teho toh'a Pa loupina a hung ding chule mi jouse chu atoh dung juicheh a athu'u atan ding ahi.
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
28 Chule Keiman thutah kaseipeh nahi uve, hikoma tupetna ding ho lah'a Mihem Chapa a Lenggama ahung masanga thilou ding aum uve,” ati.
Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
