< Mark 4 >
1 Avelin dil panga thu ahilpan kit tai. Mipi tamtah akoma ahung kikhom pai jeng un, Ama kong sunga aluttan ahi. Kong sunga chun atouvin, mipite chu vaokama atouvun ahi.
Afterwards Jesus began to teach by the seaside, and a vast multitude of people gathered about him, so that he went on board a boat on the sea, and sat there, while all the people stayed on shore, at the water’s edge.
2 Amaho chu thulem'in thu tamtah ahil in,
Then he began teaching them in parables many things. In his teaching he said to them.
3 “Ngaiyun! Muchi thepa muchi then achen ahi.
"Listen! the Sower once went out to sow,
4 Athe atheleh abang lamsih-ah achun, hiho chu vachaten ahungloh un anegam tauvin ahi.
and as he sowed, it happened that some seed fell on the road, and birds came and picked it up;
5 Chule abang songlheo chunga leipatna lah a achun, alei asalou jeh'in akehdoh jeng in,
some other seed fell on stony soil, where it had not much earth; and it sprang up quickly because it had no depth of soil,
6 Ahivang in nisan ahin kah phat in asang gon, jung aneilou jeh'in agoplha paitan ahi.
but when the sun rose it was scorched and withered away because it had no root.
7 Chule abang linglah-a achun, ling hochu ahung khang in chang phung dong nalaiho chu adep lihtan, ahinga aum tapoi.
Other seed fell among the thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked it, so that it yielded no crop.
8 Adang ho chu leiphalaiya achun, ahung khang in agatan, hiho chu ajat somthum, ajat somgup, ajat jakhat cheng in apungtan ahi!”
But some seed fell into good soil and yielded a crop that sprang up and increased, yielding thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold.
9 Chuin Aman aseiyin, “Koihileh khojahna ding nakhang neiyin ngaihen,” ati.
"Any one who has ears to hear," he added, "let him listen to this."
10 Chomkhat jouvin aseijui somleni ho toh akimvela mi dangho toh aum khom pet in, amahon athulem seiho chu ipi kiseina ham tin adong un.
When he was alone his followers and the Twelve began asking about the parables.
11 Aman adonbut in, “Pathen gam thuguh chu nangho kipea nahi tauve. Hinlah thulema kaseina jeh chu polam miho jah ding ahi,
He went on to say to them. "The secret truth concerning the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those outside everything is told in parables,
12 Hichu Lekhabun aseisa agui lhunna ding: ‘Ka thilbol amu tengule, ima jildoh hetdoh aneilou diu. Ka thusei ajah tengule, ima hetdoh aneilou diu. Achutiloule keima lam'ah hung kiheiyuntin, ngaidam chang get unte,’ kiti chu ahi,” ati.
so that, "for all their looking they may not see, and for all their hearing, they may not understand, lest perchance they should turn and be pardoned.
13 Abanin Yeshuan akomuva, “Nanghon hiche thulem hi nahetlou monguham? Achutile thulem dang jouse iti nahet tadiu vem?
"You do not understand this parable," said Jesus. "Then how will you understand the other parables?
14 Lou bolpan muchi athe chu Pathen thu midang koma kihil lhang tobang ahi.
"What the Sower sows is the Word. There are those ‘on the wayside’ where the Word is sown.
15 Muchi kithe lamsih-a chuhon avetsah chu ahileh, Pathen thu ja-a ahivanga Satan in ahung kilhoh mang pai toh tekah ahi.
As soon as they hear it, Satan immediately comes and snatches away the Word which has been sown in them.
16 Songlheo chung leipatna lah-a chuhon avetsah chu, athu ajah jah-a thanomtah'a joppai jengho ahi.
And like the sowing upon ‘stony ground’ are those who, whenever they hear the Word, at once receive it with joy,
17 Ahivang in amaho chu jung neilou ahi jeh-un, apangsot jouji pouve. Pathen thutahsan jeh'a boina le suhgimna ato tengule, jung aneilou jeh-uvin alhupaiji tauve.
but because they have no root in themselves they last for a time; but when suffering or persecution ensues because of the Word, they at once fall away.
18 Ling lah a muchi kithehon avetsah chu Pathen thu ja a,
There are others who are ‘sown among thorns.’
19 Ahivanga leiset hinkho lungkhamna ten alodimsetna, haona lungthim chule thildang dang ngaichatnan thu chu adeplih jeh-a ga sodoh joulou tobang ahi. (aiōn )
When they have heard the Word, the anxieties of life and the snares of wealth, and all sorts of other ambitions, come in to choke the Word, so that it proves unfruitful. (aiōn )
20 Chule leipha laiya chuhon avetsah chu athu ja-a, hea jopte chu ahiuvin, abang ajat somthum, abang jat somgup chule abang ajat ja-a aga punsah beho ahiuve,” ati.
But those, on the other hand, who were sown on that good soil, are those who listen to the Word, and welcome it, and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold."
21 Chuin Yeshuan ajah uva, “Koiyin meivah khu lo sung le jalkhun noiya atun ngaiyem? Koiman bolponte! Meivah chu avah hoiselna ding muna aki tungjin ahi.
He went on to say. "Is the lamp brought in to be put under the bushel or the bed? Is it not rather to be put on the lamp-stand?
22 Ijeh-inem itileh thil kiselguh chengse chu achaina leh kiphongdoh ding, chuleh akiselguh jouse chu vahdoh ding ahi.
There is nothing hidden except what is to be disclosed, and nothing concealed except what is to be revealed.
23 Koihileh khojahna ding nakhang neiyin ngaihen,” ati.
If any man has ears to hear, let him hear."
24 Chuin ajah uva, “Najah chengseu chu lungluttah in ngaiyun. Phataha nangai chan uva, hetgilna nakipe diu ahi—chule kipehbe dingbon nahiuve.
And he said to them. "Take heed what you hear. With what measure you measure it will be measured to you, and more will be given to you.
25 Koihileh kathuhil ngaiho chu hetbena kipehbe ding, ahinlah koihileh kathuhil ngailou chu ahetsa themkhat jong amahoa kon'a kilahmang peh ding ahi,” ati.
For he who holds, to him will more be given, and he who holds not, from him will be taken even what he holds."
26 Yeshuan ajah uva, “Pathen gam umdol chu loubolmi khat'in leiya muchi athe tobang ahi.
"It is with the kingdom of God," he continued, "as if a man should have sown seed in the earth;
27 Asun ajan'a a-imut pet chuleh aha pet hijongleh, amuchi the chu ahung kehdoh-in, akhanglen in, hinlah aman hitia chu thil iti hung umdoh ham ahepoi.
night and day he sleeps and wakes while the seed is sprouting and growing tall, he knows not how.
28 Leiset'in acham in ahin gadohsah jin, amasapen in avui ahung dondoh in, chuteng achaina leh ahung gadoh in aminji tai.
Of its own accord the earth bears its crops; first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
29 Aga chu amin phatleh, a atphat ahitah jeh'in loubolpa achen, koiten a atpai jitai,” ati.
Then as soon as the crop is ready the man has the sickle put in at once, because harvest-time is come.
30 Yeshuan aseiben, “Pathen gam hi ipitoh kitekah ding hitam? Ipi thulema ka hilchet ding hitam?
"To what shall we compare the kingdom of God?" he said again. "in what parable shall we set it forth?
31 Ankam mu chang leiya kithe tobang ahi, hichu muchi lah-a aneopen ahi.
It is like a mustard-seed, which, when sown in the soil, is the smallest seed in the world;
32 Ahivang in ahung kedoh tengleh hampa dang jouse sangin alenjon, abah lentah jong ahin sodoh jin, chutichun chunga leng vachate abah lim noiya ahung geh jiuvin ahi,” ati.
yet when sown shoots up and becomes larger than any plant, sending out such branches that the wild birds build their nests under its shadow."
33 Chuin chutobang thulem tamtah mangchan amahon ahetthei diu kham thu ahil e.
With many such illustrations Jesus used to tell his message to people as far as they were able to receive it;
34 Mihonpi jah-a thulem tilouvin imacha aseikhapoi. Ahinla aseijuite chengse vang chu guhthimin ijakai ahilchen jinai.
and to them it was his practice never to speak except in parables. But he used to explain everything in private to his disciples.
35 Chuin nilhah in Yeshuan aseijuite koma, “Hung un, dil khu agal langa galkaiyu hite,” ati.
On the evening of that same day Jesus said to them, "Let us go across to the other side."
36 Chuti chun mihonpi chu adalha uvin, Yeshua chu konga akitolpi tauvin, kong dang phabep'in vang ahinjuiyun ahi.
So, leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them just as he was in the boat; and the other boats were with him.
37 Chuin khopi hui ahung nung in ahileh, twi kinong chu kong sunga ahung kinonglut matchet jeng tan, adimpai ding ahitan ahi.
But a great gale of wind came up, and the waves were dashing into the boat so that it began to fill.
38 Apet chun Yeshua chu kong mei lama lukhap kikhap'in ana ihmun, aseijuiten asukhang'un ajah-a, “Houhil, kalhummang gam dingu hi imalouva nagel ham?” atitauve.
Now he himself was sleeping on the cushion in the stern, so they woke him up, saying, "Master, do you not care if we perish?"
39 Yeshua akhah phat'in huipi chu aphoh-in, twi-nong jah-a, “Thipmin! Thipchet in!” tia thu apeh leh, apettah'in huipi chu athipchet jeng tan, kho aphaseltan ahi.
And he awoke, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!"
40 Chuin Aman ajah uva, “Ibola nakichat uham? Tahsanna nanei nailou uham?” atitai.
The wind fell, and there ensued a great calm. Then he said to them. "Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?"
41 Seijui ho chu akithing jeng tauvin, “Hichepa hi koi mongmong hiya, huipi le twi-nongin jong athu angai ahitadem?” tin aki dongto tauvin ahi.
Then they were awestruck, and said one to another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey him!"
