Luke 3

Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,

in the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

And he came into all the region round about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance unto remission of sins;
4 Isaiah chun John chungchang thu anaseiyin hitin ati, “Ama hi gamthip'a khosam aw ahi, Pakai hungna ding alampi semtoh un! Ama dingin lampi sutheng un,
as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.
5 Phaicham lah kidip ding, chule molboh ho le thinglhang lah kinot cham ding akon ho kisujang ding, chule mun phol lah ho kisunam ding,
Every valley shall be filled, And every mountain and hill shall be brought low; And the crooked shall become straight, And the rough ways smooth;
6 Chuteng leh mijousen amuding, huhhingna Pathen'a kon hung kisol chu,” ati.
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
7 Mihonpi chu John henga baptize chang dinga ahung uchun, aman hitin aseiye, “Nangho gulse son ho! Koiham Pathen lunghan na hunglhung dinga kon jamdoh dinga nagihsal uvah?
He said therefore to the multitudes that went out to be baptized of him, Ye offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Chonset'a kon lung naheiyule Pathen lam a nakile'u chu nahin dan uva konin tahlang'un. Nanghon khat le khat komah, ‘Bitna kanei nauve, ajehchu Abraham son kahiuve’ tin moh sei hih un. Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

And even now is the axe also laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

And the multitudes asked him, saying, What then must we do?
11 John in adonbut in, “Sangkhol ni neiyin, khat chu avaicha ho peuvin. An neh ding neiyin agilkel te jong hoppeh in,” ati.
And he answered and said unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath food, let him do likewise.
12 Lepthol'a natong kaidong ho jong baptize chang din ahung un chule adong'un, “Houhil, ipi kaboldiu hitam?” atiuve.
And there came also publicans to be baptized, and they said unto him, Master, what must we do?
13 Aman adonbut in, “Gamsung kivaipohna in angeh kalval in kai dong hih'un,” atipeh'e.
And he said unto them, Extort no more than that which is appointed you.
14 “Ipi kabol diu hitam” tin sepai phabep khat in jong ahung dongun ahi. John in adonbut in, “Alamlouvin sum kilah hih'un ahiloule adihlouvin mi hehset bol hih'un, chule na losan'a chun lung lhaiyun,” ati.
And soldiers also asked him, saying, And we, what must we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither exact [anything] wrongfully; and be content with your wages.
15 Mijousen Messiah chu hungvah dinga aginchat cheh u anahin, chule John chu Messiah chu hingap hitam ti ahetnom ten'un ahi.
And as the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether haply he were the Christ;
16 John in athudoh uchu adonbut in hitin aseiye: “Keiman nangho twiya baptize kachansah nahiuvin, hinlah keima sanga lenjo khat ahunge–nasatah a lenjo ahidan chu keima asoh hiding le akengchot khao sutlham dingin jong kalhing joupon ahi. Amachun nangho Lhagao Theng le meiya baptize nachan sah ding'u ahi.
John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and [with] fire:
17 Ama phol jap-ngimna mangcha a changsi le atah lhehkhen dinga phasadem'a um ahitai. Chuteng aman changchilna phol asuhthenga changtah chengse chu achangsal'a asun'a asi ho vang chu mit theilou meilhum sunga aselut ding ahi,” ati.
whose fan is in his hand, throughly to cleanse his threshing-floor, and to gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.
18 John chun kipana thupha miho koma aseiphong na achun chutobang gihsalna kamcheng jong amangchan ahi.
With many other exhortations therefore preached he good tidings unto the people;
19 John in jong lhangphong tah in Galilee gam vaihompa, Herod Antipas chu, Herodius, asopipa jinu, akichenpi jeh le athilse bol adang tamtah jeh chun demna aneiyin ahi.
but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done,
20 Hijeh chun Herod in John chu songkul'ah akhum'in, achonsetna dangtoh hiche hi akibelap tan ahi.
added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.
21 Nikhat mihonpi chu baptize achan laiyun, Yeshua amatah jong baptize achangin ahi. Ama atao leh vanho ahung kihongin,
Now it came to pass, when all the people were baptized, that, Jesus also having been baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
22 chule Lhagao Theng, tahsa lim pu'in van vakhu bangin ahung kumsuh in achunga chun achu'e. Van'a kon chun aw khat'in hitin ahinseiye, “Nangma kangailut tah kachapa nahi, chule kipana lentah neihin pohpeh'e,” ati.
and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

And Jesus himself, when he began [to teach], was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the [son] of Heli,

the [son] of Mattathias, the [son] of Amos, the [son] of Nahum, the [son] of Esli, the [son] of Naggai,
26 Naggai chu Maath chapa ahi. Maath chu Mattathias chapa ahi. Mattathias chu Semein chapa ahi. Semein chu Josech chapa ahi. Josech chu Joda chapa ahi.
the [son] of Maath, the [son] of Mattathias, the [son] of Semein, the [son] of Josech, the [son] of Joda,
27 Joda chu Joanan chapa ahi. Joanan chu Rhesa chapa ahi. Rhesa chu Zerubbabel chapa ahi. Zerubbabel chu Shealtiel chapa ahi. Shealtiel chu Neri chapa ahi.

the [son] of Melea, the [son] of Menna, the [son] of Mattatha, the [son] of Nathan, the [son] of David,
32 David chu Jesse chapa ahi. Jesse chu Obed chapa ahi. Obed chu Boaz chapa ahi. Boaz chu Salmon chapa ahi. Salmon chu Nahshon chapa ahi.

34 Judah chu Jacob chapa ahi. Jacob chu Isaac chapa ahi. Isaac chu Abraham chapa ahi. Abraham chu Terah chapa ahi. Terah chu Nahor chapa ahi.
the [son] of Jacob, the [son] of Isaac, the [son] of Abraham, the [son] of Terah, the [son] of Nahor,

37 Lamech chu Methuselah chapa ahi. Methuselah chu Enoch chapa ahi. Enoch chu Jared chapa ahi. Jared chu Mahalalel chapa ahi Mahalalel chu Kenan chapa ahi.
the [son] of Methuselah, the [son] of Enoch, the [son] of Jared, the [son] of Mahalaleel, the [son] of Cainan,
38 Kenan chu Enosh chapa ahi. Enosh chu seth chapa ahi. Seth chu Adam chapa ahi. Adam chu Pathen chapa ahi.
the [son] of Enos, the [son] of Seth, the [son] of Adam, the [son] of God.
