Joshua 24

And Joshua gathers all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and calls for [the] elderly of Israel, and for his heads, and for his judges, and for his authorities, and they station themselves before God.

2 Joshua’n mipi abonchao jeh a chun hitin anaseije, “Pakai Israel Pathenin hitin aseije, napului teniu Abraham le Nahor pa Terah chu khanglui laijin Euphrates lui galla achenguvin chujong le amahon pathen lim semthu hojong ana houvun ahi.

And Joshua says to all the people, “Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: Beyond the River your fathers have dwelt of old—Terah father of Abraham and father of Nachor—and they serve other gods;

3 Ahinla Keiman napuluiju Abraham chu Euphrate gallam akon chun Canaan gamma kahin puilutnin ahi. Keiman achapa Isaac’a konin chilhah tamtah kanapen ahi.

and I take your father Abraham from beyond the River, and cause him to go through all the land of Canaan, and multiply his seed, and give Isaac to him.

4 Isaac chu Jacob le Esau kanapen ahi. Esau chu Seir molsang langchu kanapen, Jacob le achilhahte chu Egypt langa anache suh un ahi.

And I give Jacob and Esau to Isaac; and I give Mount Seir to Esau, to possess it; and Jacob and his sons have gone down to Egypt.

5 Hiche jouchun Keiman Mose le Aaron kanasollin chuleh Egypt machun natset khohtah kana laansah in, hiche jouchun Keiman nangho chu chamlhat mite nahitheina diuvin kahin puidoh un ahi.

And I send Moses and Aaron, and plague Egypt, as I have done in its midst, and afterward I have brought you out.

6 Ahinlah napu napa teohin twikhanglensan alhunphatnun, Egypt miten Sakol kangtalai jin nahin nungdel taovin ahi.

And I bring out your fathers from Egypt, and you go to the sea, and the Egyptians pursue after your fathers, with chariot and with horsemen, to the Red Sea;

7 Hichun napu napa teuchu Pakai komma ahung penjah jeng phat nun nanghole Egypt te kikah a thim kana jinsah in, twikhanglen chu kana vallhun sahin, hitichun namitmu changtah un Egypt te chunga hitobanghi kana tongdoh in ahi. HIche jouchun gamthip noijah phatsottah nahung chengtaovin ahi.

and they cry to YHWH, and He sets thick darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brings the sea over him, and covers them, and your eyes see that which I have done in Egypt; and you dwell in a wilderness [for] many days.

8 Ajona in Keiman nanghochu Jordan pang nisolamma cheng Amor mite gamsunga kahin puilut’un ahi. Amahon nangho chu nakisat piuvin ahinlah keiman amahochu namasangtah uva kasuhmang pehun ahi. Keiman amaho chunga galjona kapeuvin hitichun nanghon agamsungu nalo uvin nachen khum taovin ahi.

And I bring you into the land of the Amorite who is dwelling beyond the Jordan, and they fight with you, and I give them into your hand, and you possess their land, and I destroy them out of your presence.

9 Hiche jouchun Moab lengpa Zippor chapa Balak chun Israel dounan gal ahin boltaovin ahi. Aman Be’or chapa Balaam chu nangho gaosap dingin ahin kouvin

And Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, rises and fights against Israel, and sends and calls for Balaam son of Beor, to revile you,

10 Ahinlah keiman kana noppeh pon, keiman Balaam chu nangho joh phatthei kanaboh sahtan, hitichun nangho chu Balak a kon in kana huhdoh tan ahi.

and I have not been willing to listen to Balaam, and he greatly blesses you, and I deliver you out of his hand.

11 Nangho Jordan vadung nagalkai juva Jericho nahung lhun phatnun, Amor mite, Perizz mite, Canaan mite, Hit mite, Girgash mite, Hivi mite le Jebus miten bang bangun Jericho mitenjong nanadou taovin ahi. Ahinlah keiman amaho chu kana josah taovin ahi.

And you pass over the Jordan, and come to Jericho, and the possessors of Jericho fight against you—the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite—and I give them into your hand.

12 Keiman Amor lengteni delmang dingin nangho masang’ah khoise kanasol masan ahi. Nagaljonao chu nachem muleh nathalpi ahipon ahi.

And I send the hornet before you, and it casts them out from your presence—two kings of the Amorite—not by your sword, nor by your bow.

13 Nathanat nao hilou gamchu kapeuvin chuleh nasah dohsao hilou khopiho kapeuvin nanghon tun nachenpha taovin ahi. Natusao hilou leh Olive gammang jong naneh diuvin kapeuvin ahi.

And I give a land to you for which you have not labored, and cities which you have not built, and you dwell in them; you are eating of vineyards and olive-yards which you have not planted.

14 “Hijeh chun nalungthim pumpiuvin Pakai chu gingunlang akin bolluvin. Napu napateovin Euphrate vadung gallang Egypt ma anachenlai uva ana houvu semthu pathen hochu a itih a dingin paimang soh helluvin lang Pakai kin jengbou bollun.

And now, fear YHWH, and serve Him, in perfection and in truth, and turn aside the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt, and serve YHWH;

15 Ahinlah hiche Pakai kin hi nabol nomlou helluva ahileh koikin nabol dinguham tunihin kilhen khen jenguvin. Euphrates gallanga napu napateo semthu pathen hochu nahou joh diuham? Ahilouleh tua nachennao gamsunga ana chengah Amor mite semthu pathen hojoh chu nahou diuham kilhen khen taovin. Keima leh kainsung miten vang a i-tihchan hijongleh Pakai kinchu kabol jing jeng dingu ahi,” ati.

and if [it is] wrong in your eyes to serve YHWH—choose for yourselves today whom you serve—whether the gods whom your fathers served, which [are] beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorite in whose land you are dwelling; but me and my house—we serve YHWH.”

And the people answer and say, “Far be it from us to forsake YHWH, to serve other gods;

17 Ajeh chu Pakai Pathen le keiholeh kapu kapateo Egypt gam sohchan na akonna eina huhdoh uva chu ahi. Aman datmo umthil kidang nasatah keiho mitmulah in ana bollin ahi. Keihon gamthipnoi melmate lah a lam kahin jotnaova hin aman eihin pui galkai uvah amabou ahi.

for our God YHWH [is] He who is bringing us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants, and who has done these great signs before our eyes, and keeps us in all the way in which we have gone, and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed;

and YHWH casts out the whole of the peoples, even the Amorite inhabiting the land, from our presence; we also serve YHWH, for He [is] our God.”

19 Hichun Joshua in mipiho chu agihsallin in hitin aseije, “Nanghon Pakai kinhi boljou pouvin nate, ajeh chu Pakai hi thengtah leh thangthip Pathen ahi. Aman nachonsetnao leh Ama nadou ah o jouse nangaidam pouvinte.

And Joshua says to the people, “You are not able to serve YHWH, for He [is] a most holy God; He [is] a zealous God; He does not bear with your transgression and with your sins.

20 Ahin nanghon Pakai chu nanungsun uva semthu pathen dang kin nahin boljeng tah uva ahileh tumasangin nahin ngailulheh jengu jongleng, nangho douva hung pangding nahin suhmang dingu ahi” ati.

When you forsake YHWH, and have served gods of a stranger, then He has turned back and done harm to you, and consumed you, after that He has done good to you.”

21 Ahinlah mipiho chun Joshua chu adonbut un, “Ahipoi keihon Pakai kinchu kabol teidiu ahi” atiuve.

And the people say to Joshua, “No, but we serve YHWH!”

22 Joshua’n jong aseijin, “Nangho nathulhuhnao chunga nanh hole nangho ahettohsah nahiuve, nanghon Pakai kin bolding nakilhen taove” ati. Amahon adonbutnun, “Henge, keihon kathuseijuhi keiho mama ahetoh kahiuve,” atiuvin ahi.

And Joshua says to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves, that you have chosen YHWH for yourselves, to serve Him,” and they say, “Witnesses!”

23 Joshua’n aseijin, “Aphai hute ahileh nalah uva milim semthuho chu sumang unlang Pakai na Pathennu langa chun kiheijun lang nalungthim pumpi peuvin,” ati.

“And now, turn aside the gods of the stranger which [are] in your midst, and incline your heart to YHWH, God of Israel.”

24 Mipite chun Joshua komma asejun, “Keihon, Pakai Pathen kinjong kaboldiu, ama thujengbou kangai diu ahi” atiuve.

And the people say to Joshua, “We serve our God YHWH, and we listen to His voice.”

25 Hitichun Joshua’n hiche nikhochun Shechem’ah mipi chutoh kitep nakhat ana sem’un Pakai thupeh holeh adanthupeh hochu anit diuvin ana kitepsah in ahi.

And Joshua makes a covenant with the people on that day, and lays a statute and an ordinance on it, in Shechem.

26 Joshua’n hiche hochu Pathen dan lekhabua anajihlut nin ahi. Chuleh hiche hetjingna dinga hin songlentah khat Pakai ponbun kom gangpi phungnoi ana tungdoh in ahi.

And Joshua writes these words in the Scroll of the Law of God, and takes a great stone, and raises it up there under the oak which [is] in the sanctuary of YHWH.

27 Joshua’n mipiho kommah anaseije, “Pakaiyin eiho komma aseijouse chu hiche song hin ajasoh keijin ahi. Nangho Pakaija nakitep naova konna nanung chonnuva ahileh hichehi nangho douna-a hettohsah hiding ahi” ati.

And Joshua says to all the people, “Behold, this stone is for a witness against us, for it has heard all the sayings of YHWH which He has spoken with us, and it has been for a witness against you, lest you lie against your God.”

28 Hiche jouchun, Joshua’n mipihochu abonchan ainlam cheh a asoldohtan ahi.

And Joshua sends the people away, each to his inheritance.

29 Hiche jouhin Pakai lhacha Nun chapa Joshua chu kum jakhat le somkhat alhinchun athitan ahi.

And it comes to pass, after these things, that Joshua son of Nun, servant of YHWH, dies, a son of one hundred and ten years,

30 Amahon ama gamchan dinga ana kipehna mun, Gaash mol sahlang Ephraim thinglhang gam Timnath-serah munnah anavui taovin ahi.

and they bury him in the border of his inheritance, in Timnath-Serah, which [is] in the hill-country of Ephraim, on the north of the hill of Gaash.

31 Israel mipite chun, Joshua hinlaisen, chuleh Pakaiyin Israel tedinga anabol hojouse atahsa tah a hin hechen Joshua thinunga hingnalai upa ho hinlai sungsen Pakai kin phatah in ahin bollun ahi.

And Israel serves YHWH all [the] days of Joshua, and all [the] days of the elderly who prolonged days after Joshua, and who knew all the work of YHWH which He did to Israel.

32 Israel ten Egypt ahin dalhah uva ahinpoh u Joseph gu-ho chu, Jacob min Hamor chatea konna dangka jakhatna anachoh gamsung Shechem munna chun anavuijun ahi. Hiche gamhi Joseph chilhahho chandinga anakipe gamsunga chu umma ahi.

And the bones of Joseph, which the sons of Israel brought up out of Egypt, they buried in Shechem, in the portion of the field which Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor father of Shechem, with one hundred kesitah; and they are for an inheritance to the sons of Joseph.

33 Aaron chapa Eleazer athitai. Amachu achapa Phinehas anakipe Gibeah khopi sung Ephraim thinglhangah anavuijun ahi.

And Eleazar son of Aaron died, and they bury him in a hill of his son Phinehas, which was given to him in the hill-country of Ephraim.
