< Jonah 2 >
1 Hiche ngapi oi-sunga kon chun Jonah ataovin,
Then prayed Jonah unto the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.
2 Hiti hin aseijin ahi. Hitobanga hahsatna kato sung hin, keima Pakai henga kataovin Aman ka taona eisanpeh in ahi. Hiche thina lhankhuh tobanga konna nangma kahin kouvin Pakai nangman neihouvin ahi. (Sheol )
And he said, I called from the midst of my distress unto the Lord, and he hath answered me: out of the depth of the grave have I cried, and thou hast heard my voice. (Sheol )
3 Nangin twipi thuhtah lah’a nei sonlut in, keima Twikhanglen lailunga kalhalut tai, hiche twipi chun eilonvuhin na twipi kinong gimnei noija hin neivui tai.
For thou hast cast me into the deep, in the heart of the seas; and the stream compasseth me about: all thy billows and thy waves have passed over me.
4 Chujou chun Pakai nangin nanga konin neipai dohin, ahijeng vang'in keiman na hou in thenglam kahin ngat kit ding ahi.
And I thought indeed, I am driven out from before thy eyes: yet I again shall look toward thy holy temple.
5 Na Twi kinong noija kalhaluttan chule hiche twipi hin eichup tan ahi. Twipi chun kapum pin eitom soh tai.
The waters surrounded me, to the peril of my life; the deep compassed me about: sea-weeds were bound about my head.
6 Molsang bul geijin ka kikholuttan akelkot kikhah jing leisetin eikhen khum tan, ahin O Pakai, Pathen nangin hiche kokhuh a kon hin nei huhdoh tan ahi!
To the bottoms of the mountains did I go down; the earth [closed] her bars about me for ever: when thou broughtest up my life from the pit, O Lord my God!
7 Ka hinkho hi alamvai teng Pakai nangma ka hin gel doh jin, lunggil tah’a katao na Hou-in sunga ahung lutjin ahi.
When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came unto thee, unto thy holy temple.
8 Semthu pathen dihlou hou hon na mi hepina jong anung sun jitauve.
They that guard false vanities forsake [the source of] their kindness.
9 Keiman vang nanga din thangvahna la sa pumin nanga dingin kiphaldoh jing ing kating, ka kitepna sa ho jong molso jing ding, ajeh chu huhhingna hi Pakai nanga kon bou ahi.
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; that which I have vowed will I pay; [for] help is with the Lord.
10 Hiche jou chun Pakaiyin nga chu thu apen ahileh Jonah chu tolgo chunga alohdohtan ahi.
And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
