< John 6 >

1 Hiche jeh chun Yeshua chun Galilee dillen (Tiberias dillen tiajong kihe) agalkaiyin alangkhat gal langa chun achetan ahi.
After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.
2 Chuin mihonpi tamtah'in, melchih na kidang abolho leh anaho asuhdam amu jeh'u chun achena chan'a anung ajui tauve.
And a great multitude followed him, because they had seen the signs which he did in the case of the sick.
3 Chuin Yeshua chu mol chung khat'a akal touvin, aseijui ho toh atoukhom'uvin ahi.
And Jesus went up into the mountain, and sat there with his disciples.
4 Hichu Judah ho kalchuh kut nikho koncha ahitai.
And the passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.
5 Hichun mihonpi tamtah ama henglam jon'a ahung'u chu Yeshuan amun Philip jah'a, “Mipi hijat nehding changlhah hoiya ichoh dingu hitam,” ati.
Then Jesus, lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip: Whence shall we buy bread that these may eat?
6 Hiche hi Philip patep na a asei ahibouve, aman abol ding ageltoh sa ahitai.
But this he said to try him; for he himself knew what he was about to do.
7 Hichun Philip in adonbut'in, “Eihon kum lhungin na tong jong leu hen mi hijat in themkhat khat'a aneh khop'u chohna ding kinga jouponte,” ati.
Philip answered him: Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not enough for them, that each may take a little.
8 Chuin Simon Peter sopipa, Andrew chun ajah'uva.
One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to him:
9 “Hilaiya chapang khat in changlhah pheng nga leh nga ni aneiye, ahivangin mipi hijat lah'a hicheng hi ipia pang kham ding ham,” ati.
There is a lad here that has five barley loaves, and two little fishes; but what are these among so many?
10 Hichun Yeshuan ajah'uva, “Miho jouse chu tousah'un,” ati; chuin amaho chu abon'un hamhing chung'a chun atoutauve. (Numei chapang simlouvin mipilhing sangnga jen ahive).
But Jesus said: Make die men recline. Now, there was much grass in the place. So the men reclined, in number about five thousand.
11 Chuin Yeshuan changlhah chu alan, Pathen athangvah'in miho hoppeh dingin apedohtai; chujouvin aman nga jong chutima chun abol in, chuleh mipi ho chun avaset cheh in ane tauve.
And Jesus took the loaves, and after giving thanks, distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those who had reclined; and in like manner of the fishes, as much as they wished.
12 Hitichun amitakip ava soh phat'un, Yeshuan aseijui ho jah'a, “Tun neh moh chengse loh khom'un, moh suhmang hih un,” ati.
And when they were satisfied, he said to his disciples: Gather up the broken pieces which remain, that nothing be lost.
13 Chuin amahon changlhah pheng nga-a kon'a mipi nehmoh anong aval chengse aloh khom'un ahileh paipeh som le paipeh ni aloh dim'un ahi.
Then they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the broken pieces of the five barley loaves, which remained after they had eaten.
14 Chuin amahon, Yeshuan hiche melchih na kidang abol chu amuphat'un, atija behseh un, “Eihon themgao ina nga jingu chu ama hi ahi mong monge,” atiuve.
Then the men, after having seen the sign which Jesus did, said: This is, in truth, the prophet that was to come into the world.
15 Chuin amahon Yeshua chu ada achamlouva alengpau hisah ding agotauve, ti ahet jeh in, ama achangin thinglhang lam'a akilep mangtan ahi. Yeshuan twi chunga lam ajot
Therefore, Jesus perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew into the mountain himself alone.
16 Chuin nilhah ahiphat in aseijuite dillen pang lam'a acheuvin, Yeshua angah tauve.
And when evening had come, his disciples went down to the sea,
17 Ahivangin khothim geiya Yeshua ahung kile lou phat'in, amaho kongsunga alut'un, Capernaum lam jon'in akitol tauvin ahi.
and, having entered the ship, went across the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
18 Chuin phulou helouvin hui hattah khat in amaho chu ahinno khum'in twi kinong chu asang jep asang jep'in, akhohse lheh jengtai.
And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that was blowing.
19 Hitichun amaho mile li vel akitol lhungun, phulou helouvin Yeshua amaho lam jon'a twi chunga lam ahinjot chu amu uvin, akicha lheh jeng'un ahi.
Then, having rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the sea, and coming near the ship; and they were afraid.
20 Ahivangin Yeshuan amaho akouvin, “Kicha hih'un keima kahi bouve,” ati.
But he said to them: It is I; be not afraid.
21 Chuphat in aseijuiten, Yeshua chu kong sunga lutsah loi ding athanom'un hetman lou kah chun ajotnau mun alhung tauve.
Then they willingly received him into the ship; and immediately the ship was at the land to which they were going.
22 Ajingin dillen panga mihonpi umho chun, seijui hon kong khat umsun chu alah'uva akitol'u chu amu'uvin chuleh amaho lah'a Yeshua ajaopoi ti aheuvin ahi.
The next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea, seeing that no other boat had been there but the one which his disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone;
23 Chuleh Tiberias a kon'a hung lhung kong dang tamtah, Yeshuan changlhah phatthei aboh a mipin anehnau mun koma chu uma ahi.
(but there came other boats from Tiberias near the place where they had eaten bread, after the Lord had given thanks; )
24 Hijeh chun mihonpi chun, Yeshua leh aseijuite chukom'a aum tapouve ti amuphat'un amaho jong kong hoa chun alut'un Yeshua hol in Capernaum lang agal kaitauvin ahi.
when, therefore, the multitude saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they also entered the ships, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
25 Chuin amahon dil gal lang khat'a Yeshua amuphat'un, “Rabbi nangma itih'a hilai mun nalhun ham?” atiuve.
And finding him on the opposite side of the sea, they said to him: Rabbi, when didst thou come hither?
26 Chuin Yeshuan amaho chu adonbut'in, “Keiman nangho tahbeh'a kaseipeh nahiuve, nanghon keima neihol'u hi neh ding changlhah kapeh jeh'a bou ahin, melchihna kidang kabol ho nahet chen jeh'uva ahipoi.
Jesus answered them, and said: Verily, verily I say to you, You seek me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were satisfied.
27 Hijeh chun, amang thahji nehding holnan hibang lom'in kisugim hih'un, hisang chun mihem chapan napeh ding'u tonsot hinna joh chu hol'in kisugim jouvin; ajehchu Pa Pathen in keima hiche dinga chu Mohor einamdet ahitai,” ati. (aiōnios g166)
Labor not for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to life eternal, which the Son of man will give you; for him has God the Father attested. (aiōnios g166)
28 Chuin amahon adonbut'un, “Keihon jong Pathen'a ding na katoh nom'uve; ipi kabol dingu ham?” atiuve.
Then they said to him: What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?
29 Yeshuan ajah'uva, “Hiche bou hi Pathen in nanghoa kon'a adei natoh chu ahi, ahinsolpa hi tahsan un,” ati.
Jesus answered and said to them: This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he has sent.
30 Hichun amahon adonbut'un, “Nang katahsan thei nading'un ipi ham nabolthei melchihna kidang khat neimu sah un,” atiuve.
Therefore, they said to him: What sign do you show, then, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you perform?
31 “Chule kapu kapateu chun gamthip ajotlaiyun manna aneuvin ahi, hichu Pathen Lekhabun asei Mose in amaho chu van'a kona changlhah neh ding apeuve,” kiti chu ahi.
Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Chuin Yeshuan ajah'uva, “Keiman nangho atahbeh kaseipeh nahiuve, Mose in vana kon changlhah apekhapoi, kapan apeh ahi, chuleh tun nangho dingin van'a kon changlhah tahbeh chu apetai.
Then Jesus said to them: Verily, verily I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven; but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
33 Pathen a kon'a changlhah tahbeh chu, van'a kona hung kumlha-a vannoiya hinna pea amabou chu ahi.”
For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven, and gives life for the world.
34 Chuin amahon ajah'a, “Pu chuche changlhah chu keiho aniseh'in neipeuvin,” atiuve.
Then they said to him: Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35 Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Keima hinna changlhah kahi, koi hileh kahenga hung jouse gilkel kitlou ding, chuleh koi hileh keima eitahsan jouse a itih'a dangchah kitlou ding ahi.”
Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life; he that comes to me shall never hunger; he that believes on me shall never thirst.
36 Ahivangin nanghon keima neimu vang'un neitahsan deh pouve.
But I said to you, that you have seen me, and yet you do not believe.
37 Hijongleh, Paneipeh chengse ho chu kahenga hung ding ahiuve, chuleh keiman amaho chu kaledoh louhel ding ahi.
All that the Father gives me, will come to me; and him that comes to me, I will by no means cast out.
38 Ajeh chu keima eihin solpa Pathen lunglam bol dinga vana kon'a hung kumlha kahin keima lunggot bol dinga hung kahipoi.
For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 Chuleh Pathen lunglam chu hiche ahi, Aman keima eipeh chengse hi khatcha mansah louva, ni nunung nileh amaho kakai thou ding ahi.
And this is the will of him who sent me, that of all that he gives me, I shall lose nothing, but shall raise it up at the last day.
40 Ajeh chu hiche hi kapa lunglam ahi, Chapa mua chuleh tahsan jousen tonsot hinna anei ahitai; keiman amaho chu ni nunung nileh kakai thou ding ahi, ati. (aiōnios g166)
For this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who sees the Son, and believes on him, may have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
41 Chuin Judah ho chu lunglhai lou tah'in aphun gam tauve, ajeh chu Yeshuan, “Keima vana kon'a hung kumlha hinna changlhah kahi,” ati.
Then the Jews murmured at him, because he said, I am like bread that came down from heaven.
42 Hichun amaho akihouvun, “Hichepa hi Joseph chapa Yeshua hilou ham? Apa leh anu kihe'a iti aman keima vana kon'a hung kumlha kahi atithei ham?” atiuve.
And they said: Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How, then, does he say, I came down from heaven?
43 Ahivangin Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Kathusei ho jeh in phun hih un.
Jesus answered and said to them: Murmur not among yourselves;
44 Ajeh chu keima eihinsol'a Pa chun kahenga aloilut ho tilou chu koima ama cham in, kahenga ahung thei poi, chuleh keiman amaho chu ni nunung nileh kakai thou ding ahi.
no man can come to me, unless the Father, who sent me, draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 Pathen Lekhabu'a Pathen in amaho abon'uva ahilding ahi, kitibang chun, koi hileh Pa thu ngaiya chuleh ama a kon'a kihil ho bou chu kahenga hungji ahiuve.
It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught of God. Every one that hears from the Father, and learns, comes to me.
46 Chule koiman Pathen amukhapoi, Pathen'a kon hung kisol amabou chun Pathen chu amu ahi.
Not that any one has seen the Father, but he who is from God; he has seen the Father.
47 Keiman nangho tahbeh'a kaseipeh nahiuve, koi hileh ama tahsan chan chun tonsot hinna anei ahitai. (aiōnios g166)
Verily, verily I say to you, He that believes on me has eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
48 Keima hinna changlhah kahi.
I am the bread of life.
49 Napu napateu vin gamthip'a manna aneuvin, ahivangin amaho abon'un athisoh heltauve.
Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.
50 Koihileh vana kon'a changlhah neho vang chu a itih'a thita lou ding ahi.”
This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that any one may eat of it, and not die.
51 Keima vana kon hung kumlha changlhah hing chu kahi, koi hileh hiche changlhah neho chu tonsot'a hing ding ahi; chuleh vannoi hinna dinga kapeh ding changlhah chu katahsa hi ahi. (aiōn g165)
I am the bread that lives, which came down from heaven. If any one eat of this bread, he shall live forever. And the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. (aiōn g165)
52 Chuin miho chu khat leh khat Yeshua thuseidoh chun akinel'un, “Iti hichepan atahsa chu eiho nehding'a apeh thei ding ham?” atiuvin ahi.
The Jews, therefore, contended among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Hichun Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Keiman nangho tahbeh'a kaseipeh nahiuve, nanghon Mihem Chapa sa naneh lou'uva chuleh athisan nadonlou'uleh, nasung'uva tonsot hinna naneilou dingu ahi.
Then Jesus said to them: Verily, verily I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
54 Ahivangin koi hileh kasa ne'a, chuleh kathisan don'a vang chun tonsot hinna anei ahitai. Chuleh keiman ama chu ni nunung nileh kakai thou ding ahi. (aiōnios g166)
He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood, has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day; (aiōnios g166)
55 Ajeh chu nehding tahbeh chu kasa ahin, chule donding tahbeh chu kathisan ahi.
for my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 Hijeh chun koi hileh kasa ne'a chuleh kathisan don'a chu keima sunga ama aum'in chuleh ama sunga keima ka um'in ahi.
He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood, dwells in me, and I in him.
57 Chule eihinsol'a hing jing Pa jal'a keima hing kahi; hiche bang chun keima'a kon'a kivah chu keima jal'a hing ding ahi.
As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father, so he that eats me, even he shall live by me.
58 Ajeh chu keima vana kon'a hung kumlha changlhah tahbeh chu kahi, hijeh chun koi hileh hiche changlhah ne'a chu, napu napa teuvin Manna ana neh'uva athisoh hel'u bang hita louva, amaho chu tonsot'a hing jing ding ahiuve.” (aiōn g165)
This is the bread that came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he that eats this bread shall live forever. (aiōn g165)
59 Thu hicheng hi aman Capernaum kho'a kikhop na In'a athuhil pet'a asei ahi.
These things he spoke in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
60 Chuin aseijuiten ajah'a, “Hiche thuhi hetchen ahahsa vale koiman sangthei ponte,” atiuve.
Therefore, many of his disciples, when they heard him, said: This is a hard saying; who can hear it?
61 Hichun Yeshuan aseijuite alung himo thim'u chu ahen, ajah'uva, “Hiche kathusei hin nalungu asuh noh phah hitam?
But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at it, said to them: Does this offend you?
62 Achutileh nanghon Mihem Chapa vana lahtou va aum mukit leu chun, ipi nati tadiu vem?
Then, what if you should see the Son of man go up where he was before?
63 Lhagao bouvin tonsot hinna apehji ahi, Mihem tahsa kihabol in ima abukim joupoi, chuleh keiman najah uva kasei doh thucheng hohi, abon'a Lhagao leh hinna thu ahi.
It is the spirit that makes alive; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I speak to you are spirit and life.
64 Ahivangin nalah'uva keima eitahsan lou na um'uve,” ati, ajeh chu Yeshuan atil'a pat'a koiham ama tahsan lou chuleh koiham ama pedoh ding ti ahetsa ahitai.
But there are some among you who believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who he was that would betray him.
65 Chuin aman ajah'uva, “Hiche jeh'a chu Pan eipeh lou chu mi koima kahenga ahung theipoi, tia kasei ahi,” ati.
And he said: For this reason I said to you: No one can come to me unless it be given him from my Father.
66 Hiche apat chun, aseijui ho tamtah ache mang'un, ama adalha tauvin ahi.
After this, many of his disciples went back, and walked with him no more.
67 Chuin Yeshuan somle ni ho jah'a adongin, “Nanghon jong neidalhah dingu ham?” ati.
Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away?
68 Hichun Simon Peter in adonbut'in, “Pakai koi henga kache ding'u ham? Tonsot hinna pe'a thunei nangbou nahi. (aiōnios g166)
Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
69 Keihon nangma Pathen theng khat seh nahi kaheuve, hichu katahsan uve,” ati.
and we believe, and know that thou art the Christ, the Son of God.
70 Chuin Yeshuan ajah'uva, “keiman nangho somle ni kalhendoh nahiuvin, ahivangin nalah'uva satan khat aume,” ati.
Jesus answered them: Have I not chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
71 Hichu aman alhen doh somle ni ho lah'a Simon Iscariot chapa Judas in khonunga ama apehdoh ding aseina ahi.
He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon; for he was about to deliver him up, being one of the twelve.
