< John 19 >
1 Hichun Pilate in Yeshua chu mol'a jep dingin apedoh tai.
Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and scourged Him.
2 Chuin sepai hon ling lukhuh apheh'un, Pakai chu akhuh peh tauvin ahi. Chuleh amahon ponsandup asilpeh un ahi.
And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head,
3 Chuin akoma ahungun, “Judate lengpa chibai,” atiuvin, totnopnan aneiyun chuleh abengphe abeh peh'un ahi.
and threw a purple robe about Him, and said, "Hail king of the Jews," and struck Him with their hands.
4 Chuin Pilate agapot kit'in, ajah uva, “Veuvin akhan gitlouna ima kamu lou nahetna dinguva ama naheng uva kahin puidoh ahi,” ati.
Pilate therefore came out again, and saith unto them, Behold I bring Him out to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in Him.
5 Hichun Yeshua chu ling lukhuh khuh le ponsandup kisil pum chun ahung potdoh'in, chuin Pilate in ajah uva, “Veuvin hiche mipa hi!” ati.
So Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, "Behold the man."
6 Hichun thempu pipui hole Houin ngah'a pang sepai hon ama chu amuphat un, “Thingpel'a khenbeh-in, thingpel'a khenbeh-in,” tin asamtauve. Ahin Pilate in adonbut'in, “Nanghon natahsa tah in kai unlang thingpel'a khenbeh tauvin, keiman vang Yeshua hi amona kamu dohpoi,” ati.
When the chief priests therefore and the officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, "Crucify Him, crucify Him." Pilate saith unto them, Take Him yourselves, and crucify Him: for I find no fault in Him.
7 Judate lamkai hon adonbut uvin, “Keiho danpi dungjui'a ama hi athi dinga lomtah ahi, ijeh inem itile ama tah Pathen Chapa akihisah jeh chun,” atiuve.
The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law He ought to die, because He made himself the Son of God.
8 Hichun Pilate in hiche thu ajah phat'in, atil'a sangin akicha cheh tan;
Now when Pilate heard this he was the more afraid;
9 Hichun Pilate chu inpi sunga alut kit'in Yeshua jah'a, “Nangma hoiya hung kon nahim?” ati. Ahivangin Yeshuan adonbut pon ahi.
and went into the palace again, and saith to Jesus, From whence art thou? but Jesus gave him no answer.
10 Hijeh chun Pilate in ajah'a, “Nei houpi lou ding ham? Nangma lhadoh na ding jong chuleh thingpel a khetbeh na ding jong thu kanei hi nahet lou ham?” ati.
Pilate therefore saith unto Him, Dost thou not speak to me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Hichun Yeshuan aseitai, “Nangman keima chunga imacha tha nanei nading aumpoi, amavang chunglam akon tilou'in, ati. Hiti ahijeh a chu keima eipeh doh'a pangpa chonset na achungnungpen e,” ati.
Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above; wherefore he, that delivered me up to thee, hath the greater sin.
12 Hichun Pilate in Yeshua chu lha doh dingin agongtan, ahinla Judah hon asam uvin, “Nangman hichepa hi nalha doh leh Caesar jol nahilou ahi; ama lenga kisem chan chu Caesar douna'a thusei ahi,” atiuve.
Upon this Pilate sought to release Him; but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou release this man, thou art not Cesar's friend; for whosoever maketh himself a king, opposeth Cesar.
13 Pilate in thu chucheng ajah phat chun Yeshua chu ahin puidoh in; chuin Pilate chu song lhongnal atiu (Hebrew paova Gabbatha) hichu thutanna'a touna, chunga chun atoutan ahi.
Therefore when Pilate heard this he brought Jesus forth, and sat down on the tribunal, in a place called the Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.
14 Hichu kalchuh kut dinga kigot ni, nidan gup dontah ahi; chuin Juda ho jah'a, “Veuvin na lengpau hi!” ati.
(And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour.) And he saith to the Jews, Behold your king. But they cried out,
15 Hijeh chun amaho a-aosot jengun, “Sumangin, sumangin, thingpel'ah khenbeh-in!” atiuvin ahileh, Pilate in ajah'uva, “Nalengpau thingpel'a kakhet beh ding ham?” atileh; thempu pipuihon adonbut'un, “Keihon Caesar tailou leng dang kanei pouve,” atiuvin ahi.
Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your king? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cesar.
16 Hichun Pilate in Yeshua khetbeh na dingin amaho koma ape dohtai, Hichun Judaten Yeshua chu apuidoh tauvin ahi.
Then delivered he Him therefore unto them to be crucified.
17 Hichun amahon Yeshua chu akai'un, chuin a thingpel akiput'in Lugu mun (Hebrew paova Golgotha) atiu mun chu jonin achetan ahi.
And they took Jesus, and led Him away. And He went out, bearing his cross, into a place called the place of a scull, in Hebrew Golgotha:
18 Chuleh hiche mun'a chun Pakai Yeshua chu thingpel chung'ah akhenbeh tauvin ahi, chuleh midang pasal ni jong asih langto gel'a amatoh akhetbeh thau vin, Yeshua chu amani lai tah a akikhenbeh in ahi.
where they crucified Him, and with Him two others, one on each side, and Jesus in the middle.
19 Chuin Pilate in thingpel chunga simdoh ding atah in hichu, “Nazareth Yeshua, Judate lengpa,” tin atah doh in ahi.
And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross: and there was written, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 Chuleh Yeshua akhetbeh na mun chu khopi nai ahijeh chun, hiche min chu Juda ho tamtah-in asimun; hichu Hebrew pao, Latin pao, chuleh Greek paova kisun ahi.
Many of the Jews therefore read this inscription; for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
21 Hichun thempu pipuihon Pilate henga alungkim lounau aga lhut'un, Hiche kheldoh na dingin, “Judate lengpa” khel'a “Aman aseijin, ‘keima hi Judate lengpa kahi,’” tijoh a khel dingin aseitauve.
And the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Write not "The king of the Jews," but that "He said, I am king of the Jews."
22 Ahin Pilate in adonbut'in, “Hithei ponte, ajeh chu keiman kana jihdoh sa chu kajih doh ahitai,” ati.
Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.
23 Chule Rome sepai hon Yeshua akhetbeh uchun, aponsil alauvin, hal li asouvin sepai khat hal khat cheh in achang'un; chule asangkhol jong chu alauvin; asangkhol chu khuilou ahin, alua pat ato geiya kikhong lhungkei ahi.
And the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, (and made four parts, to each soldier a part, ) and his coat. Now the coat had no seam in it, being woven from the top throughout:
24 Hichun amahon aseiyun, “Atel tel'a bokeh sangin leh sangu hitin, vang vetaote, koi chang ding ham” atiuve; Hiche hi Pathen thua kijih guilhun na dinga kisei chu ahi. Hichun amahon von chu alehsang un vangvet nan aneiyun, hitichun anabol'un ahi.
they said therefore to one another, Let us not cut it, but let us cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, "They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots." These things therefore the soldiers did.
25 Hiche jeh chun sepai hon hiti chun hicheng chu aboltauve, Ahin Yeshua thingpel koma chun anutoh, anu sopinu Mary (Clopas Inneipi) toh, Mary Magdalene ading jingun ahi.
Now there stood near the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 Hichun Yeshuan anu le angailut aseijui chu akom'a adin amu phat'in anu jah'a, “Numei ven nachapa chu,” ati.
Jesus therefore seeing his mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, saith to his mother, Woman, behold thy son:
27 Chuin Yeshuan hiche aseijui pa jah'a aseijin, “Hiche hi nanu ahi,” atin hichun hiche aseijui pa chun Yeshua nu Mariam chu a-inlam'a apui tan ahi.
and then saith to the disciple, Behold thy mother. And from that hour the same disciple took her to his own home.
28 Hiche jou chun Yeshuan thil ijakai akichai soh chu ahen, Pathen Lekhabua thu chu guilhun sohthei nan, “Kadang achah-e!” ati.
After this Jesus knowing that all things were now finished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 Chuleh chukoma chu belkhat'a theitwi thuh kitung ahin, chule twichop phon a theitwi thuh dimset in hyssop mol leh'a atah-un akamtoh asutouvin ahi.
Now there was set a vessel there full of vinegar: so they filled a spunge with the vinegar, and putting it upon hyssop, held it up to his mouth.
30 Chuin Yeshuan theitwi thuh chu adonin, “Akichaitai,” ati. Chuin akaikun alhagao alhadoh tan ahi.
And when Jesus had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished. And reclining his head, He yielded up the ghost.
31 Chuin kigin ni ahijeh chun cholngah ni a thilong ho chu thingpel'a aumden louna dingin (cholngah ni Chula ni loupi ni ahin), Judah hon Pilate henga akenggu heboh dingleh along galah mangna dingin athumun ahi.
The Jews therefore, that the bodies might not remain upon the cross on the sabbath-day, because it was now the preparation, (for that sabbath-day was an high-day) desired Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Hichun Rome sepai ho ahungun mi ni kikhai Yeshua toh kikhenbeh te ni keng chu ahehbong tauvin ahi.
So the soldiers came, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other that was crucified with Him. But coming to Jesus,
33 Amavang Pakai Yeshua kom ahin phah uchun, ama chu ana thitan ahi, hiphat chun Yeshua keng vang chu aheh bong tapouve.
as they saw He was dead already, they did not break his legs:
34 Hitia aum vang chun sepai ho khat in Yeshua nah chu tengcha a asut le apet pet chun thisan le twisih ahung pot tan ahi.
but one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water.
35 Chule amupa tah chun ahettohsah ahi; chule ama thu hettohsah chu tahbeh ahi; chuleh aman atahbeh asei ahi chu ahei; nanghon jong natahsan thei na dingu ahi.
And he that saw it testifieth it, and his testimony is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye may believe.
36 Hiche ho jouse hi Pathen thua ana kisei doh banga, “Agu khat cha jong kihehbong lou ding ahi,” ati chu guilhunna dinga thil hicheng chu soh a ahitai.
For these things were done, that the scripture might be fulfilled, Not a bone of Him shall be broken.
37 Chule “Amahon tengcha'a asutpau chu avet dingu ahi” kiti toh.
And again another scripture saith, They shall look on Him whom they have pierced.
38 Chuin hicheng jou chun Arimathea Joseph, Yeshua seijui khat, amavang Juda ho gin jeh a guh thima hia ahin, ama chun Yeshua long chu pohdoh dingin Pilate henga aga thum'in ahileh, Pilate'in jong ana phal'e. Hijeh chun ama ahungin Yeshua long chu apo mangtai.
And after these things Joseph of Arimathea (who was a disciple of Jesus, but a concealed one for fear of the Jews) petitioned Pilate, that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him leave: he came therefore and took away the body of Jesus.
39 Chule Arimathea Joseph toh hung khom pachu Nicodemus ahin, ama hi Yeshua toh kimuto dinga jan muthim'a hungpa chu ahi. Nicodemus chun Myrrh leh Aloes thao namtui kihal, sel som sagi le nga a gih ahin choiyin ahi.
And there came also Nicodemus (who at first came to Jesus by night) and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes about an hundred pound weight.
40 Hichun amahon Yeshua long chu alauvin Judate chon na ngai bang in lounam tui toh tupat pon nemin atom tauvin ahi.
So they took the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen cloths, with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.
41 Chuleh thingpel'a aki khetbeh nau mun'a chu hon khat uma ahin, hon a chu koima kivuina khahlou hel lhan thah khat uma ahi.
Now there was a garden in the place where He was crucified; and in the garden a new sepulchre, in which none had ever yet been laid.
42 Hijeh chun Juda ho kiginni ahijeh chun lhan chu akomcha ahiman chun chukoma chun Yeshua chu avui tauvin ahi.
There therefore they laid Jesus, because of the Jews preparation-day; for the sepulchre was near.
