< John 12 >
1 Kalchuh kut kipatna ding nigup masang'in, athi a kona athodoh Lazarus umna Bethany a chun Yeshua ahungin,
Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
2 Hiti chun ama dingin jan an asemun, chuleh Marthan ajenlen Lazarus vang chu ankonga ama toh touho lah'a chun apangin ahi.
There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
3 Chuin Mary in halpi bei Bego thao namtui man tamtah chu ahin choiyin Yeshua kengphanga anun asamin atheh ngimin ahileh agimnam chun insung chu alosoh jeng in ahi.
Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.
4 Chuin seijui holah a khat Simon chapa Judas Iscariot, amatsah a pang dingpa chun,
Then says one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,
5 “Hiche thao namtui hi manlutah ahi. man tamtah'a joh a mivaicha genthei ho pehding ahi,” ati.
Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6 Aman hiche ati chu vaicha genthei khohsah a asei ahipoi, ama chu gucha ahin, chule sumdip avop ahin, asunga kikoi chu akilahji ahi.
This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bore what was put therein.
7 Hichun Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Amanu chu limsah hih'un. Kakivui nia dinga kigontup theina a abol ahi.
Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying has she kept this.
8 Nanghon genthei chaga aphat seh a nanei jing dingu ahi, ahin keima vang aphat seh a nangho lah a umjoulou ding kahi,” ati.
For the poor always you have with you; but me you have not always.
9 Chuin mipi hon Yeshua chukoma ahunge ti ajah phat'un, Judah ho mi tamtah ama chung chang jeng hilouvin, athi lah a kona athodoh Lazarus jong chu venomin ahenga ahung tauve.
Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
10 Hichun thempu pipuihon Lazarus jeng jong thadoh dingin agongun ahi.
But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
11 Ajeh chu amapa jeh tah a jong chu miho lah a tamtah pin amaho anuse uva Yeshua atahsan u ahitan ahi.
Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
12 Hiche ni ajingin kut'a dinga hung mipi atama tamin, Yeshua Jerusalema dingin ahunge, ti ajah phat'un,
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Lusu na akidop'un aga lamtouvin, “Hosana, Pakai min a hunga Israelte Lengpa chu anun nome,” tin asam asamun ahi.
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that comes in the name of the Lord.
14 Chuin Yeshuan sangan chalgol khat amun, achunga atouvin ahi;
And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
15 “Vo Zion chanu, kicha hih-in; Ven, nalengpa sangan nou chunga atouvin ahunge,” tia kisun bang chun.
Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, your King comes, sitting on an ass’s colt.
16 Hicheng thu chu Yeshua seijuiten amasan ana hepouvin ahi, ahin Yeshua choiat'a aumdoh phat chun, hiche thu chu ama thudol'a kisunsa ahin, amahon hitia chu abol'u ahi tichu ageldoh tauve.
These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things to him.
17 Hichun aman Lazarus akouva athi lah a kona athodoh pettah a aumpi mipi chengse chu athu hettohsah a pang ahiuve.
The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bore record.
18 Hiche melchihna abol ajah jeh tah-uva chu mipi chun alamtou ahi.
For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.
19 Hichun Pharisee ho khat le khat akihou lim un, “Veuvin eihon imacha ibol thei dingu aumpoi; ajeh chu mijousen ama nung ajui cheh tauve,” atiuvin ahi.
The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive you how you prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
20 Hiche kalchuh kut a chu Pathen hou dinga Greek mi phabep khat chetou ahiuvin;
And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
21 Hichun amaho Galilee gam'a Bethsaida khoa mi Philip henga ahungun ajah'a, “Pu Yeshua chu kamu nomui,” ahung tiuve.
The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
22 Hichun Philip ahungin Andrew jah'a ahung seiyin, chuin Andrew ahungin Philip toh Yeshua jah a asei lhone.
Philip comes and tells Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
23 Yeshuan adonbut in, “Mihem Chapa choiat'a aum ding phat ahung lhunge.
And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
24 Thutah chu ahile, chang malkhat chu tol'a tulut in aumjie. Hichu athilou le achangin aumden ji bouve; athi vang le tamtah agajin ahi.
Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it stays alone: but if it die, it brings forth much fruit.
25 Koi hijongle hiche vannoi leiset chunga ahinkho itcha ho chu mangthah ding ahi; ahin koi hijongle hiche vannoi leiset chunga ahinkho pedoh ho chun tonsot hinkemlou anei dingu ahi. (aiōnios )
He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal. (aiōnios )
26 Koi hijongle kalhacha a panga chun kanung eijuihen, keima umna'a chu kalha cha jong um ding ahi; mi koi hile kalhacha a panga chu Pa chun ajabol ding ahi.”
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.
27 Tun kalung adongtai; ipi kati ding ham? Pa, hiche nidan a kon hin neihuhdoh-in, ahivangin hiche dinga hi tu nidan geiya hi hung kahi.
Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I to this hour.
28 “Pa, namin choiat in” ati. Hiche chun van'a konin Aw ahung gingin, “kachoian tai, chule choian kit nalai ding kahi,” ati.
Father, glorify your name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 Hiche chun akimvel a ding mipi chun hichu ajauvin, “Van aginge,” atiuvin; adangsen, “Vantil in ajah a thu asei ahi,” atiuve.
The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spoke to him.
30 Hichun Pakai Yeshuan amaho chu adonbut'in, “Hiche awgin najah'u chu nangma ho phatchomna ding ahibouve, keima a ding ahipoi.
Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Hiche vannoi leiset chunga thutanna phat ahung lhungtai, Satan vannoiya vaihompa nodoh naphat jong hung lhung ding ahitai.”
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 Chule keima leiset'a kona kathodoh tengle keiman mi jouse kahenga dinga kahungpui ding nahiuve.
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to me.
33 Hichu aman athi ding dan tahlang na a hitia chu asei ahi.
This he said, signifying what death he should die.
34 Mihonpi chun adonbut'in, “Keihonla Messiah chu tonsot'a hing jing ding ahi, ti Pathen Lekhabua kon in kaheuvin; Ipi jeh a Mihem Chapa thiding ahi nati thei ham? Hiche Mihem Chapa chu amonga koi ham?” atiuve; (aiōn )
The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ stays for ever: and how say you, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? (aiōn )
35 Yeshuan adonbut'in, “Kavah hi nalah uva chomkhat bou umnalai ding ahi; muthim in naphah louna dingun vah umpet hin vahle uvin; muthima vahlea chun achena ding ahepoi.
Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come on you: for he that walks in darkness knows not where he goes.
36 Vah nanei pet chau hin vah chate nahi theina dingun vah chu tahsanun,” ati. Thu hicheng chu aseiyin, apotdoh-in amahoa kon chun akiseltai.
While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light. These things spoke Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
37 Isaiah themgao thusei: “Pakai kathuseiyu kon atahsan em? Chule Pakai ban thahat koi henga kilang am?”
But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
38 Tia asei chu guilhun theina ding chun, a-ang sunguva melchihna kidang tamtah abolin, ahivangin atahsan pouve.
That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who has believed our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
39 Hiche thua hin Isaiah themgao chun avel in aseikit in:
Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again,
40 “Aman amit'u asuchon, alungu asutah tai; achuti loule amit'un mu'uvin tin, chule alungun heuvin tin, chule hung kihei kit'un tin keiman boldam get inge,” ati; hiche jeh a hi amahon atahsan thei lou'u ahi.
He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
41 Isaiah chun aloupi chu amu jeh a hicheng chu aseiya; ama ho thudol chu asei ahi.
These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.
42 Achuti vang'in vaipo ho jeng jong tamtah'in atahsan tauve; ahinla Pharisee ho jeh chun kikhop na akonin eiki kaidoh khante, tin aseidoh aumpouve.
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43 Ajeh chu amahon Pathen choiat sangin mihem choiat adei jouvin ahi.
For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
44 Hichun Yeshuan aw sangtah in asam in, “Koi hijongle keima eitahsan chun keima hilou va eisolpa joh atahsan ahibouve;
Jesus cried and said, He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me.
45 Chule keima eimua chun eisolpa amu ahi.
And he that sees me sees him that sent me.
46 Koi hijong le keima eitahsan a chu muthim a a-umlouna dinga keima vah hina a vannoiya hung kahi.
I am come a light into the world, that whoever believes on me should not abide in darkness.
47 Mikhat touvin kathu jahen nit hih jongle athu katanpoi; ijeh inem itile keima vannoi thutan'a hung kahipoi, vannoi huhhing ding joh a hung kahibouve.
And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 Koi hijongle keima eipampaiya kathuhil jong joplou chu, thupi kitan nile thutah kaseidoh hin achungthu atan ding ahi.
He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
49 Ijeh inem itile keiman kacham'a kasei ahipoi, eisol'a Pa chun kasei dingle kapao ding dan hi thu eipeh ahibouve.
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 Ama thupeh chu tonsot hinna ahi, ti kahei; hiche jeh a chu kathusei hi Pan eihil bang banga kasei ahi,” ati. (aiōnios )
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatever I speak therefore, even as the Father said to me, so I speak. (aiōnios )
