< Job 34 >

1 Hiti chun Elihu in aseijin:
Moreover Elihu answered,
2 Miching hon kathusei hi ngai uvin, chihna themna neihon phatechan hin ngai uvin.
“Hear my words, you wise men. Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.
3 Ngaijuvin kam’in antwi leh twilou ahet khen bangin bilkol in jong thucheng ajah jouse hi apatep jin ahi, tin Job in aseije.
For the ear tries words, as the palate tastes food.
4 Ipihi adih ham ti eima cheh a din hekhen u hitin, ipi hi thilpha ham ti kihilkhom sohkei uhite.
Let us choose for us that which is right. Let us know among ourselves what is good.
5 Hijeh chun Job in jong aseijin keima hi nolna bei kahin ahinlah Pathen in kathusei eilah mang peh tai.
For Job has said, ‘I am righteous, God has taken away my right.
6 Keima nolnabei kahin ahinlah amahon mijou eitiuve. Kachonset lou vang'in kathoh gimna hi jendam thei ahipoi.
Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.’
7 Dang goleuva daichat vaina leh nuisatna thoh jing Job tobang mi aum kha dem? Neiseipeh tem uvin.
What man is like Job, who drinks scorn like water,
8 Amapan kalhat khompi dingin thilse bolte alhengin aphat ho jouse migiloute toh amang khom e.
who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men?
9 Ipi dinga Pathen lunghol na a phat jouse namoh manchai ding ham ti chanin amapan aseije.
For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.’
10 Thilhet khen themna neihon ngaijuvin kathusei hi, Pathen in chonset abolpoi ti mi jousen ahet ahin, hatchungnungpa chun thil dihlou aboltheipoi.
“Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness, from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
11 Aman mihem hi atoh dungjui cheh a lethuhna apeh ji ahin, aman mihemte hi achonna dungjui a alethuh ji ahi.
For the work of a man he will render to him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
12 Tahbeh mongin Pathen in thil dihlou abol louhel ding ahi. Hatchungnung pa chun thudoh chu aheimang lou ding ahi.
Yes surely, God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
13 Mihem khat touvin leiset pumpi hi athu noija akoi khah em? Leiset pumpi hi kitup chetna koipen in akoi ham?
Who put him in charge of the earth? Or who has appointed him over the whole world?
14 Pathen chun alhagao ana kinunglah khat tou hihen chuleh ahaina hu chu akinung lah hitaleh,
If he set his heart on himself, if he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath,
15 Hinkho jouse kichai ding ahitan, chule mihingte jouse hi leivui soh kit ding ahitai.
all flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.
16 Tun miching hon kathusei hi ngai uvin, ipi kasei lunglut tah in ngai uvin.
“If now you have understanding, hear this. Listen to the voice of my words.
17 Thudih deilouva Pathen in vai ahom ding ham? Hatchungnungpa thutan hum o nachan ding ham?
Should even one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty,
18 Ijeh inem itile aman leng ho jah a nang hi migilou nahin chuleh milen milal pa komah nanghi langnei nahi tin aseije.
who says to a king, ‘Vile!’ or to nobles, ‘Wicked!’?
19 Aman mihem chu itobangin oupe jongle iman agelpon chuleh mivaichapa sangin mihausa pachu akhohsah chompoi, aboncha ama khutsem ahi cheh e.
He doesn’t respect the persons of princes, nor respect the rich more than the poor, for they all are the work of his hands.
20 Mitphet kah louvin athi theijin, jankim lai teng jongle amangthah jiuvin, mithat hatpa jong chu mihem khat pang louvin akisumang jitai.
In a moment they die, even at midnight. The people are shaken and pass away. The mighty are taken away without a hand.
21 Ijeh inem itile Pathen in mihem tehi iti hin ham ti ave jingin, athilbolu amusoh keije.
“For his eyes are on the ways of a man. He sees all his goings.
22 Migiloupa kiselna ding chun muthim jong ama mitmun kiselna din alhing joupoi.
There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23 Pathen thutanna'a itih le idin diu ham ti eihon, gonsan ikoi pouve.
For he doesn’t need to consider a man further, that he should go before God in judgment.
24 Aman mihat pachu koimacha dong louhel in asumang jin, chule ama munna chu adang khat atung doh ji'e.
He breaks mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out, and sets others in their place.
25 Aman ipi abol'u ahet ahin, chuleh jan tengle alehkhup in chuleh asumang jitai.
Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
26 Aman agitlou jeh uvin ajeplhu jin mijouse mu thei dingle ima jousen amu theidin abol ji'e.
He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
27 Ijeh inem itile, ama nung ajui nauva konin akihei mangun alampi jeng jong donlouvin akoi tauve.
because they turned away from following him, and wouldn’t pay attention to any of his ways,
28 Amahon mivaichate chu aka sah un, akanau chu Pathen koma alhunge. Pathen in mi gentheite kana ho ajahpeh jin ahi.
so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him. He heard the cry of the afflicted.
29 Ahinlah ama chun thipbeh a um ding chu lheng jo tahen lang hileh kon amachu themmo achan thei ding ham? Aman amai aselmang teng mikhat ham ahiloule namkhat hijeng jongle koiman aholdoh joupoi.
When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? He is over a nation or a man alike,
30 Mihemte thanga a o louna diuvin aman Pathen neiloute vaihomin apansah jipoi.
that the godless man may not reign, that there be no one to ensnare the people.
31 Kachonse tai, ahin chonset bolkit taponge tia mihem ten ipi dinga Pathen koma aseikit jilou u ham?
“For has any said to God, ‘I am guilty, but I will not offend any more.
32 Ahiloule ipi thilse kabol kahekha poi neisei peh in thilse kabol aum khah leh tutah hin ngai jeng inge.
Teach me that which I don’t see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?
33 Nathum najeh a chu Pathen in athudih nachu asemphat ding ham? Ijeh inem itile nangin ama chu napaidoh sa ahin, akilhen ding chu nang nahin, kei kahipoi, sei jomin lang nachihna chu keiho komma phong doh in.
Shall his recompense be as you desire, that you refuse it? For you must choose, and not I. Therefore speak what you know.
34 Hicheng jou nungin milungval hon eiseipeh untin chuleh miching hon kathusei ngai uvinte.
Men of understanding will tell me, yes, every wise man who hears me:
35 Job in hetoh louva asei ahin, athucheng ho chu agilpoi.
‘Job speaks without knowledge. His words are without wisdom.’
36 Job migilou thuseija nathusei jeh a akhonna leh nachung thu kitan ding nakikhol khom ahi.
I wish that Job were tried to the end, because of his answering like wicked men.
37 Ijeh inem itile nangin nachonset na chunga doumah nabol ben, nangin Pathen dounan lunghanna thu nasei lelen, jabolna nanei tapoi.
For he adds rebellion to his sin. He claps his hands among us, and multiplies his words against God.”
