< Job 33 >
1 Job kathusei hohi ngaijin, kathusei dingho hi lunglut in ngaijin.
Therefore do thou but hear, O Job, my speeches, and give ear to all my words.
2 Tun kathusei hitihin pan kit ing ting banjom tange.
Behold now, I have opened my mouth, my tongue speaketh in my mouth.
3 Kasei jouse hi lung thengsel'a kasei ahin, thutah kasei ahi.
Out of my straightforward heart [come] my sayings, and my lips utter knowledge clearly.
4 Ijeh inem itile Pathen lhagauvin eina sem ahi. Chuleh Hatchungnung pa hu haikhumin kahinna hi eipeh ahi.
The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty giveth me life.
5 Naki ngachat leh nei donbut in, nachung chang thu kisem toh'in, chuleh nadin namun ah dingin.
If thou canst, answer me, array thyself before me, stand forward.
6 Ven nang leh kei inia Pathen a ihicheh e. Keijong leingan a ana kisem ah kahi.
Behold, I am in the same relation as thyself toward God: I myself also am cut out of the clay.
7 Hijeh a chu kei neikichat nading aumpoi, huham tah a kahung kumsuh lou ding ahi.
Behold, dread of me cannot terrify thee, and my pressure will not be too heavy upon thee.
8 Nangin kajah ding thu naseisa ahitan, chule nathusei ho achang cheh a kajah ahi.
But thou hast said before my ears, and the sound of the words I still hear,
9 Nangin keima kathengin, kei chonsetna bei kahi, kei nolna bei themmona kaneipoi tin naseije.
“I am pure without transgression, I am quite clean; and there is no iniquity in me:
10 Pathen in eikinah pin chuleh amelma in eingaito e.
Yet, behold, he findeth hateful backsliding on me, he regardeth me as an enemy unto him;
11 Kakeng teni khaokol sung ei chotlut sah in chuleh kakholhahna jouse amelchih e.
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he watcheth all my paths.”
12 Ahinlah nang nadih poi, chuleh ipi jeh ham ti navet sah inge. Ijeh inem itile miching ho sanga oupe jo ahi.
Behold, In this thou art not just: I will answer thee; for God is far greater than a mortal.
13 Ijeh inem itile ipi dinga nadouna a nanokhum ham? Ipi dinga aman mihem te kiphinna adonbut poi nati ham?
Why dost thou contend against him? for with all his words will he not give an answer.
14 Ijeh inem itile mihem ten ahet theilou vanga Pathen in avel vel'a asei ahitai.
For God speaketh once, yea twice: [yet man] regardeth it not.
15 Janmanga ahim, muneina ahim a mihemte ha imut a aimut pet u, ajalkhun chunga alup pet uva aman aseipeh u ahi.
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumbers upon the couch:
16 Aman anabeng tenia ol chakhat in aseije, chule kichat tijatna a agih ji ahi.
Then doth he lay open the ear of men, and sealeth it with their warning;
17 Athilse bolnau va konna akinungle sah ji a, akiletsah nau alahmang ji ahi.
To remove the son of earth [from his intended] deed and he covereth up pride from man;
18 Lhankhuh a konna ahuhdoh a thina lui agal kai diuva jong ahuhdoh jiu ahi.
He withholdeth his soul from the pit, and his life from passing away by the sword.
19 Ahiloule Pathen in mihem tehi dammona jalkhun chunga natle sat toh tang louhel a agu achangin achi a hitia hi asuhdih ji ahi.
And so is he admonished by pain upon his couch, and all his bones with violent [aches].
20 Chuteng leh amahon anneh twipen pen jong aduchatna mang ji ahitai.
So that his inclination abhorreth bread, and his soul, the most agreeable food.
21 Amaho tahsa agongsuh tan chule agu achang aki langdoh soh tai.
His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen, and his bones that were not seen stick out.
22 Amaho chu thina kotkhah gei ahitauvin, thina vantil chun amaho ana nga jiu ahitai.
Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit, and his life to those that slay.
23 Ahinlah vantil khat vanna kon in hung kilang hen, thupole chombeh khat chun mikhat dingin tao peh hen, chuleh amapa hi lungthengsel ahina phongdoh henlang,
If there be now about him one single angel, as defender, one out of a thousand, to tell for man his uprightness:
24 Amapa chu milungset them hihen lang, lhankhuh a konin huhdoh tauvin, ijeh inem itile keiman ahinkhou kilhatdoh na man ding chu kamutai tin seihen hileh,
Then is he gracious unto him, and saith, Release him from going down to the pit, I have found an atonement.
25 Chutileh atahsa chu chapang tahsa dehchet leh khangdong lai phat bangin hung damthei kit inte.
His flesh becometh full again as in youth: he returneth to the days of his boyhood.
26 Pathen komma atau tengleh amachu kisan peh ding ahi. Chule Pathen in kipah in sang intin, chule adinmun hoitah in koi kit inte.
He will offer his entreaty unto God, and he will receive him in favor, that he may see his face with joy: so doth He recompense unto the mortal his righteousness.
27 Amapan aloi agolte komma phongdoh intin keima kachonse tai chule thutah adihlou lamin kaheijin ahinlah hichu phatchomna bei ahi.
He then should assemble men around, and say, “I had sinned, and perverted what is right, yet have I not received a like return.”
28 Pathen in lhankhuh a konin eihuhdoh in chule tun kahinkho hi avahdoh tai.
Thus he redeemeth his soul from passing into the pit, and his life will look joyously on the light.
29 Henge, Pathen in hitobang thil hohi avel vella mihem tedinga abolji ahi.
Lo, all these things doth God two or three times with man;
30 Aman amaho chu lhankhuh a konin ahuhdoh in hijeh chun amaho chu hinna khovah a chun kipah tauvinte.
To bring back his soul from the pit, that she may shine in the light of life.
31 Job hiche hi phatechan melchih in, kathusei hi ngaijin. Ijeh inem itile keiman seiding kahaove.
Listen well, O Job, hearken unto me: keep silence, and I will truly speak.
32 Ahinlah seibe ding nanei nahlaija ahile seiben, seijin, ijeh inem itile keiman nathem channa chu mukal ngahlel a um kahi.
If thou hast any words, answer me: speak, for I wish to justify thee.
33 Chuti chu ahilouva ahile kathusei ngaijin, thipbeh chan um jingin, keiman chihna thu nahil inge.
If not, hearken thou unto me: keep silence, and I will teach thee wisdom.
