< Job 20 >

1 Hichun Naamath mi Zophar chun adonbut in:
Then responded Zophar the Naamathite, and said: —
2 Kadonbut tei ding ahi, ijeh inem itile keima nasatah in eiki sunoh phah e.
Not so, do my thoughts answer me, and to this end, is my haste within me:
3 Nami phosal nahi kahin thoh joulou ahitan, ahinlah ka lhagaovin donbut nomna eihin neisah ahitai.
The correction meant to confound me, I must hear, but, the spirit—out of my understanding, will give me a reply.
4 Phat kipat tillai leiset chunga mihem te ana um masat pen laiju chu geldoh in,
Knowest thou, this—from antiquity, from the placing of man upon earth: —
5 Migilou te kichoisang nahi phat chomcha bou ahin, chule Pathen neiloute kipana jong chomkhat a ding bou ahi.
That, the joy-shout of the lawless, is short, and, the rejoicing of the impious, for a moment?
6 Pathen neiloute kiletsah nan van pha hen lang, chuleh alu uvin meibol ga tong kha jongleh,
Though his elevation mount up to the heavens, and, his head, to the clouds, doth reach,
7 Amaho chu tonsot'a mangthah ding ahiuvin, a eh u kipaimang banga amaho jong kipai mang ding ahiuve. Koi hijongle ahepha jousen dong uvin te.
Like his own stubble, shall he utterly perish, They who had seen him, shall say, Where is he?
8 Amahohi janmang bangin mangun tin chule kinung mukit lou diu ahin, amahohi jan a thil kimu aman bangin mangthah tauvinte.
Like a dream, shall he fly away, and they shall not find him, yea he shall be chased away, as a vision of the night.
9 Amaho chu amukha sa hon anungmu kit lou diu ahitan, ainkoten anungmu kit louhel diu ahi.
The eye that hath scanned him, shall not do it again, neither, any more, shall his place behold him:
10 Achate houvin mivaichate komma akhut do uvinte, ijeh inem itile amahon aguh u haosat naho chu anung peh kit diu ahi.
His children, shall seek the favour of the poor, and, his own hand, shall give back his wealth.
11 Khangdong hijong leu agubuh u leivui lah a kijam ding ahi.
His bones, are full of youthful vigour, yet, with him—in the dust, shall it lie down.
12 Amahon agitlou nau chu kipana ana neiju ahin, alei noi uva hung junlha ding ahi.
Though, a sweet taste in his mouth, be given by vice, though he hide it under his tongue;
13 Amahon twi asauvin akamsung uva sottah akoi uve.
Though he spare it, and will not let it go, but retain it in the midst of his mouth,
14 Ahinlah hetman louhel in a oisung uva a anneh u chu athuh jitai, a oisung uva thina thei gu aum jeh chun,
His food, in his stomach, is changed, the gall of adders, within him!
15 Amahon aval lhum sau anei agou hou chu alodoh un ahin Pathen in akoi lhahsah lou diu ahi.
Wealth, hath he swallowed, and hath vomited the same, Out of his belly, shall, GOD, drive it forth:
16 Amahon gulsoh gu hin chop untin gulsen amaho ahintha dingu ahi.
The poison of adders, shall he suck, The tongue of the viper shall slay him;
17 Amahon olive thao twidung banga long ahiloule khoiju leh bongnoi vadung banga long amukhah kit louhel diu ahi.
Let him not see in the channels the flowings of torrents of honey and milk.
18 Amahon atohman uva amu thil jouse anungpeh uva anei agou jouseuvin nopsahna hin lhut peh pouvin te.
In vain, he toiled, he shall not swallow, like wealth to be restored, in which he cannot exult!
19 Ijeh inem itile amahon vaichaho asu genthei un chule genthei lengvai jin adalhau vin amahon asah u hilou hel inho akilah uve.
For he hath oppressed—hath forsaken the poor, A house, hath he seized, which he cannot rebuild.
20 Amaho akilose uvin chuleh lung nachimna anei pouve, aval beihella thil jouse nei cham kim ding bou agel gel uve.
Surely he hath known no peace in his inmost mind, —With his dearest thing, shall he not get away:
21 Imacha khen neilou hellin amaho changseh in anei jou hel uvin hijeh a chu ahaosat nau jong umsot lou hel ding ahi.
Nothing escaped his devouring greed, —For this cause, shall his prosperity not continue:
22 Neng tah a aumlai tah ule hahsatnan ahin lhunkhum in hahsat gentheina achung'uva hunglhung ding ahi.
When his abundance is gone, he shall be in straits, All the power of distress, shall come upon him.
23 Pathen in amaho chu hahsat gentheina a a oisung dimset uvin peuhen Pathen in alunghanna achung'uva hin juhlhah sah hen.
It shall be that, to fill his belly, he will thrust at him the glow of his anger, and rain [it] upon him for his punishment.
24 Thih hemma konna jamdoh ding go jongle sum-eng a kisem thalchang in adot pai ding ahi.
He shall flee from the armour of iron, —There shall pierce him, a bow of bronze!
25 Thalchang chun atungtun langa konna ki botdoh ding chule athalchang muh chu thisan nat dehduh a thina kichat umtah chu achung'uva chu ding ahi.
He hath drawn it out, and it hath come forth out of his back, —yea the flashing arrow-head, out of his gall, There shall march on him—terrors:
26 Agou jouse muthim lhangkal kiheh lah a kisep lut ding, athil keu jouseu akidalha beihel a gamlah meiyin akahvam gam hel ding ahi.
Every misfortune, is laid up for his treasures, —There shall consume, a fire, not blown up, —it shall destroy what remaineth in his tent:
27 Vanho jousen athemmo nau ahin phon jal ding chule leiset in jong ama douna ahin phot chet ding ahi.
The heavens shall reveal his iniquity, and, the earth, be rising up against him:
28 Ain jouseu twisoh in alhoh manga Pathen lung hanna chu twi hattah long banga hung longlha ding ahi.
The increase of his house shall vanish, melting away in the day of his anger.
29 Pathen in migilou apeh ding tohman hiche hi ahin, Pathen in achan diuva ateppeh sau chu ahi.
This, is the portion of the lawless man, from God, and the inheritance decreed him from the Mighty One.
