< Job 14 >
1 Mihem hinkho hi ichan a lhasam a hitam? Hinkho hi ichanna choma ichanna gentheina dimsetna hitam?
Man born of a woman is short of days, and sated with harrowing trouble.
2 Pahcha bangin ahung pah doh un chule agop lhaji tai, nilim kihei banginamang loi jitai.
Like a flower he cometh forth, and is cut down: and he fleeth like a shadow, and remaineth not.
3 Hitobang bep hinkho lhasam tah thilsem hi namitna navet jing ding hija chule keija konna kahin nikho jat sutoh dinga nei ngeh ham?
And yet on such a one dost thou open thy eyes, and me thou bringest into judgment with thee?
4 Miboh a konna thenna kon apohdoh jou ding ham? Khat chan jong podoh thei ponte.
Who can make a clean thing out of an unclean? not one [thing].
5 Kahin khou jong achom asau teptohsa nakoi ahin, lha ijat kahin diu ham tijong nahetsa ahi. Chule mitphet kah khat hin be ding jong neiphal peh pouve.
Seeing that his days are determined, the number of his months are [fixed] with thee, that thou hast set his bounds which he cannot pass:
6 Hijeh chun kachangun nei dalhauvin chule kicholdo tauvinge. Keiho khut thalah tobang kahiuvin hijeh chun lung mongin kana toh u neitoh jou sah un.
Turn thyself from him that he may recover from his pain, and be able to enjoy like a hired laborer his day.
7 Thingphung jengin jong keinepna tam jo aneiyin kisatlhu jeng ta jong leh hung don thah kit intin, chule abah tamtah hung dondoh kit inte.
For there is hope for the tree: if it be cut down, it may still sprout again, while its young shoot will not cease.
8 Leinoiya ajung ho chu kikhan lhit henlang thi tajongle, chule aphung chu mot tajong leh,
If even its root become old in the earth, and its stock die in the dust:
9 Twi thalhin jallin hungdonthah kit intin akeh thah bangin hung itt hah inte.
Yet through the scent of water will it flourish [again], and produce boughs as though It were newly planted.
10 Ahinlah mihem ho athi teng vangleh athahat nau chemang ji ahitan, ahainau akichai teng leh hoiya umjiu hitam?
But man dieth, and lieth powerless: yea, the son of earth departeth—and where is he?
11 Dilla konna twi ahua alen bangin, vadung jong nichangsat teng abeimang jitai.
The waters run off from the sea, and the river faileth and drieth up:
12 Mihem hohi thoukit talou dingin choldo din akilup sah ji'e. Vanho abeihel kah sea amaho thoukit lou ding ahiuve.
So doth man lie down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they will not awake, and will not be roused out of their sleep.
13 Nangin lhankhuh a neisol mang ding kanome, chule nalung hanna achemang soh kahsen nei sumil hel jengin, ahinlah nei geldoh kit nadingin nikhosim na a namelchih in, (Sheol )
Oh who would grant that thou mightest hide me in the nether world, that thou mightest conceal me, until thy wrath be appeased, that thou mightest set for me a fixed time, and remember me then! (Sheol )
14 Mithi chu hing thei kit ding ham? Chuti ahileh hahsat gentheina kadouna kum ho a hi kinepna nei peh ding ahi. Chule ken thina a kilhadoh ding chu kanga jing ding ahi.
Or, when a man dieth, will he live again? all the days of my time of service would I then wait, till [the hour of] my release were come.
15 Nangin nei kouvin natin chule ken kadonbut ding nahi. Chule nakhut semsa keima neimu nom ding ahi.
Do thou call, and I will truly answer thee: have a desire for the work of thy hands.
16 Kachonsetna ho jouse navet khella nangin kakal son jousea neihonbit ding ahi.
Yet now thou numberest my steps: and thou waitest not with [the punishment of] my sin.
17 Ka chonsetna jouse sakhao sunga nakhum tup a chule kathemmo na nakhu khum ding ahi.
Sealed up in a bag is my transgression, and thou yet addest to my iniquity.
18 Ahinlah molsang ho ahal halla akelhah a akitol lhah khella chule songho kola akitahlhah banga,
But truly a falling mountain will crumble, and [even] a rock is moved out of its place.
19 Twijin songho alhoh lhah a chule twisoh in leiset alhoh mang banga chu nangin mihemte kinepna nasuhmang pehji ahi.
The water weareth out stones; thou sweepest away their fragments [like] the dust of the earth: and so thou destroyest the hope of man.
20 Nangin amaho chu hunam in nabol in, chule amun adalha jitauve. Nangin amaho chu thina in nasu melsen chule nasol mang jitai.
Thou assailest him with might without ceasing, till he passeth away: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him off.
21 Achateu atuteu jabol theija khangdoh hinauvem ti amahon ahepha naisai pouvin ahilouleh hetkham louvin a lhum mang jitauve.
His children acquire honor, but he knoweth it not: and they are esteemed little, but he perceiveth nothing of them.
22 Amahon natna nasatah athoh un ahinkhou chu gentheina adimset e.
But his body. on him, feeleth pain, and his soul will mourn for him.
