< Jeremiah 8 >

1 Pakaiyin aseiye, hiche nikho chuleh melmaten lhankhuh asuhset uva, Judah lengte leh avaipoteu gulechang ho, thempu leh themgaote gulechang ho, chuleh Jerusalem’a chengte athisaho gulechang ho, lhankhuh’a kon’a kilaidoh ding ahi.
“At that time,” declares the LORD, “the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of the officials, the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the people of Jerusalem will be removed from their graves.
2 Gulechang ho chu, amahon adeitahuva akilhen’u, anajen leu chuleh chibai aboh’u, a Pathen’u nisa leh lha chuleh ahsiho angsunga, tollhanga kithethang diu ahi. Hitia chu, gulechang ho jouse chu, kichomkhom kittalouding, chuleh avela kivuikit talou ding, tollhanga amonlha dinga kitheyal ding ahiuve.
They will be exposed to the sun and moon, and to all the host of heaven which they have loved, served, followed, consulted, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered up or buried, but will become like dung lying on the ground.
3 Hiche nam giloute lah’a, ahingdoh amoh chengse chun, hin sanga thi adeijoh diu ahi. Kei thaneipen Pakaiyin kasei ahitai, ati.
And wherever I have banished them, the remnant of this evil family will choose death over life,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
4 Chuin Jeremiah in mipite henga aseitai, ‘Pakaiyin aseiye, mi alhuh teng thoudoh kitji hilou ham? Mi khattou achena lampi dihlou ahin hetdoh teng, ama chu hung kinungle kitji hilou ham?
So you are to tell them this is what the LORD says: “Do men fall and not get up again? Does one turn away and not return?
5 Achutileh ipi dinga kamite hi manthahna lampia vahmang diu hitauvem? Ipijeh’a Jerusalem mite hung kile kit ding dau ham? Amahon akijou lhepnau chu atuhchah un, ahung kile kit nompouve.
Why then have these people turned away? Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.
6 Keiman akihounau kangailhi jing in, thudih aseidoh u kaja hih hel e. Alah uva khatbeh jong, aphatmona lunggimpi um uvem? Khatchan jong, ibol’a hibang lom’a phamo kahim, atipouve. Amitakip in, ama ama lunglam cheh in setna lampia, galmun jon’a lhei-jangkhai tah sakol abang gamtauve.
I have listened and heard; they do not speak what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, asking, ‘What have I done?’ Everyone has pursued his own course like a horse charging into battle.
7 Vanlaijol’a lengle vakang in kichouphat akihet in, vakhu leh pelpalep chuleh vakeng sang injong, amaho kichonphat akihetuvin, kumseh in aphatchan akile kit jiuve. Ahivangin kamiten ima nahepouve. Amahon Pakai chondan thu kapehsa jong ahe tapouve.
Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons. The turtledove, the swift, and the thrush keep their time of migration, but My people do not know the requirements of the LORD.
8 Itidan’a, nanghon keiho miching kahiuve, Pakai danthu keiho kom’a aume, natitheiyu ham? Nahil uva pang danthu them hon, thujou jeng ajihlut gam’u hilou ham?
How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the Law of the LORD is with us,’ when in fact the lying pen of the scribes has produced a deception?
9 Nahil’uva pang michingho kijumso gamdiu, ngolhoi tah thang’a chu ohdensoh ahitauve. Ajeh chu amahon Pakai thusei donlouvin akoitauve. Asunguva itobang chihna aneiyu hitam?
The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, what wisdom do they really have?
10 Hijeh’a chu keiman ajiteu pasal dang kapeh ding, chuleh alou jouseu jong gamchom mi kapeh ding ahi. Amaho aneopen’a pat alenpen geiyin, kilosetna apumdim’un, lamdih louva sum mu ding jeng agel uve. Chuleh kalhacha themgao holeh thempuho geiyin lepthol in thil aboltauve.
Therefore I will give their wives to other men and their fields to new owners. For from the least of them to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; from prophet to priest, all practice deceit.
11 Kamite kisuhkhahna maha nasatah chu, amahon bailam tah’a damdoh din agel uve. Chamna bon umlouva, amahon cham leh lungmon aum’e, atiuvin ahi.
They dress the wound of the daughter of My people with very little care, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace at all.
12 Hitobang thet um tahtah ho aboluva, amaho chu jahcha louvu ham? Ajahcha naisai pouve. Jum leh ja jong ahepouve. Hijeh chun, amaho chu alhulhamsa ho lah’a kijam diu ahi. Keiman amaho chu talen kamatsah’a kaphuh lhuh ding ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
Are they ashamed of the abomination they have committed? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; when I punish them, they will collapse, says the LORD.
13 Keiman kamite kahin chopkhom ding ahi. Lengpithei phungho leh theichang phungho chu aga beisoh ding, chuleh theiga phungho jouse ana geiya goplha ding ahiuve. Keiman kamite kapehsa ijakai abon’a mangsoh hel ding ahi. Keima thaneipen Pakaiyin kasei ahitai, ati.
I will take away their harvest, declares the LORD. There will be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the tree, and even the leaf will wither. Whatever I have given them will be lost to them.”
14 Chutah leh, mipiten hitia asei diu, ‘Ibol’a thi ngah’a hilaiya eiho imoh umthim diu ham? Hungun, kulpi kikhaikhum khopi ho del’u hitin, chumun’a chun gathikhom’u hite. Ijeh inem itileh, Pakai i-Pathen’u chun eiho manthahna dinga thupeh abol ahitan, chuleh idon diuva thina gutwi eikoipeh’u ahitai. Ajeh chu eiho Pakai dounan ichonse behseh tauve.
Why are we just sitting here? Gather together, let us flee to the fortified cities and perish there, for the LORD our God has doomed us. He has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
15 Eihon chamna ingaichauvin, ahivangin cham leh lungmon aumdehpoi. Eihon kisuhdam nading phat ingah’un, ahinlah kichat tijatna jeng bou imuve.
We hoped for peace, but no good has come, for a time of healing, but there was only terror.
16 Melmate sakol ho nah-khon gin, Dan gam’a kon in akijatai. A sakolteu huhpen gin chun gamsung pumpi ahot ling soh jenge. Amaho chu igamsungu leh asunga umjouse sumang dinga hungkon ahi, atiuve.
The snorting of enemy horses is heard from Dan. At the sound of the neighing of mighty steeds, the whole land quakes. They come to devour the land and everything in it, the city and all who dwell in it.
17 Keiman hiche namelmateu chu, gu hattah suhngoi theilou gul banga, nalahuva kahin lhalut ding ahi. Amaho chun nachuh diu chuleh nathi diu ahi. Keima thaneipen Pakaiyin kasei ahitai.
“For behold, I will send snakes among you, vipers that cannot be charmed, and they will bite you,”
18 Ka lunggim hesoh nahi, boldam thei ding ahitapoi. Ka lungchang ana behseh jenge.
My sorrow is beyond healing; my heart is faint within me.
19 Kamite ka- ogin khu ngaiuvin; Gamsung pumpi akithonge. ‘Pakaiyin Jerusalem anungsun hitam? Jerusalem lengpa hoilamba hitam? Atiuve. Pakaiyin adonbut in, ‘Ipi dinga ba doilim semthu gamdang mite Pathen ho chibai naboh’uva, kei neiphin lunghang’u ham? ati.
Listen to the cry of the daughter of my people from a land far away: “Is the LORD no longer in Zion? Is her King no longer there?” “Why have they provoked Me to anger with their carved images, with their worthless foreign idols?”
20 Mipi chu hatah in akap’un, ‘Chang-at phat kichaiya, chuleh nipilai jong beita, eiho la huhdoh in ium hih laiyuve’ atiuve.
“The harvest has passed, the summer has ended, but we have not been saved.”
21 Kamite kimavona chu keima lungthim kimavona ahin, keima kaple maovin kaumin, kagimlhehtai.
For the brokenness of the daughter of my people I am crushed. I mourn; horror has gripped me.
22 Gilead gam’a aboldam nading damdoi umlou ham? Hichea chu louthem jong umlou hitam? Ahileh, ibol’a kamite maha chu kidamsah lou ham?
Is there no balm in Gilead? Is no physician there? Why then has the health of the daughter of my people not been restored?
