< Jeremiah 34 >

1 Babylon lengpa Nebuchadnezzar chu alengvaipohna gamho’a kon in asepai jouse toh ahung kon in, Jerusalem leh akimvel’a khopi ho douna gal asattai. Hichepet chun Pakaiyin Jeremiah henga hitin aseiye.
The word which came unto Jeremiah from Yhwh, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,
2 Zedekiah lengpa henga gachenlang hitin gaseiyin; “Pakai Israel Pathen chun aseiye, keiman hiche khopi hi Babylon lengpa khut a kapehdoh ahitai, chule aman meiya agovam ding ahi.
Thus saith Yhwh, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith Yhwh; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:
3 Chule nangjong ama-a kon’a najamdoh louhel ding, nakimandoh ding chuleh Babylon lengpa toh nakimaito teiding ahi. Chuteng Babylon gam’a sohchanga nakikaimang ding ahi.
And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, but shalt surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.
4 Amavang, vo Judah lengpa Zedekiah, Pakai thutep hi ngaiyin, Nangma galmun’a nathilou ding ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
Yet hear the word of Yhwh, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith Yhwh of thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword:
5 Nangma lungmong tah a nathiding ahinai. Napu napate leng masaho kibolna banga mihon gimnamtwi ahin hal uva, nathilong a-op diu; Amaho chu nachung a lainatah’a kapdiu, ohe, ilengpau athitai, atidiu ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye, ati.
But thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odours for thee; and they will lament thee, saying, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith Yhwh.
6 Hichun Jeremiah themgao pan, Pakai thusei chu Zedekiah lengpa henga agaseitai.
Then Jeremiah the prophet spake all these words unto Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,
7 Hichepet chun, Babylon lengpa sepaihon Jerusalem leh Judah gamsunga kulpi kikaikhuma kisuse nailou khopi Lachish leh Azekah teni jong chu ahindel khum un gal in asattauvin ahi.
When the king of Babylon’s army fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against Azekah: for these defenced cities remained of the cities of Judah.
8 Chuin Zedekiah lengpan agamsung mipite toh kitepna khat asemdoh in; soh’a kivul ho jalen nading thu aphon doh jou chun, Pakaiyin Jeremiah henga hitin ahinseiyin ahi.
This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from Yhwh, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;
9 Aman amitakip henga thupeh aneiyin, Hebrew mi soh’a kivul jouse, numei hihen pasal hijongle, abon’a alha-ong diuvin thupeh aneiyin ahi. Koiman anammi Hebrew mi chu soh a aneithei louhel ding ahi, tin aseitai.
That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.
10 Chuin leng chapaten jong chule mipiten jong, abonchauvin lengpa thupeh chu ajuicheh uvin, asohteu chu abonchauvin achamlhat sah tauve.
Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go.
11 Ahin khonung in, amahon alung’u akhelkit uvin, alha-ongsau soh numeiho le pasal hochu, abon uvin anung mat kit uvin, soh in aneikittauve.
But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
12 Hijeh chun Pakaiyin Jeremiah henga hitin aseitai.
Therefore the word of Yhwh came to Jeremiah from Yhwh, saying,
13 Pakai Israel Pathen chun hitin aseiye, Keiman napu napateu chu asohchannau Egypt gam’a kon’a kahuh doh chun, amaho toh kitepna khat kana semdoh in ahi.
Thus saith Yhwh, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,
14 Keiman napu napateu jah’a, kumgup nasoh uva pangsa Hebrew mi poupou, kumgup sehleh nalha-ong uva nachamlhat sah teitei diu ahi, kati. Ahivangin amahon kathusei ho ngai nahsah in aneipouve.
At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.
15 Tunin nanghon kathupeh bangin lung naheiyun, Israel in nakom’a soh a umho lhadoh dingin nakinopto sohtauve. Nanghon keima houin sung laitah’a, ikihounau bangin kitepna khat nasemtauve.
And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:
16 Ahinlah, nanghon lung nakhel kit un, nakitepnau nasukeh uvin, nalhadohsau soh numeiho leh soh pasal ho jouse, nanung mat kit uvin, nasoh uvin napansah kit uvin, kamin chu nasunoh tauvin ahi.
But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom ye had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.
17 Hijeh chun Pakaiyin hitin aseiye, “Nanghon kathupehsa nanam chanpi ho soh’a kon’a nachamlhat sah diu ahi, kati chu najuitapouve. Keiman nangho gal a mangthah ding, kelthoh a genthei ding chule natlesat thigam dinga kalha-ong diu nahitauve. Chutahle vannoiya namtin vaipin natijat pi uva nakidah diu ahi.
Therefore thus saith Yhwh; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith Yhwh, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
18 Nanghon ikitepnau nasukehtauve. Nanghon nakihahsel uva bongnou nahapsat uva, akah’a nakijot bang uva chu, keiman nangho kahapsat ding nahiuve.
And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,
19 Keiman nangho kasattel diu, vaipo ho, thempuho chule mipite jouse, bongnou kisattel banga kasattel diu ahi. ajeh chu nanghon nakitepnau nasukehtauve.
The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;
20 Keiman nanghon namelmateu khut a kapehdoh u nahitai. Amahon namat uva nathadiu, chule natahsa uchu gamsaho leh vachaten anehdiu ahi.
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.
21 Keiman Judah lengpa Zedekiah leh avaipote abonchauva, nanghoa kon’a kinungtolsa Babylon lengpa khut a kapehdoh ding ahi.
And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which are gone up from you.
22 Keiman Babylon sepaite kalekou kit ding; Amahon hiche khopihi ahin delkhum diu, meiya ahalvam diu ahi. Hitia chu Judah gamsung khopi jouse kasuhmang ding, chule beihel a ahomkeova kakoi ding ahi, ati.
Behold, I will command, saith Yhwh, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.
