< Jeremiah 24 >

1 Babylon lengpa Nebuchadnezzar in, Judahte lengpa Jehoiakim chapa Jehoiachin, Judah leng chapate ho, khutthem bolho leh thingthem bolho jouse, Babylon gam’a soh’a akaimang nung un, Pakaiyin hiche gao-thilmu hi, keima eimusah e. Hichu, Jerusalem houin maiya, theichangga pochani dimset akitung’e.
The LORD showed me, and behold, two baskets of figs [were] set before the temple of the LORD, after Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
2 Pocha khat’a chun, theichangga apha leh amin hoisel adimset in, chuleh pocha khat’a chun, theichangga phalou leh nehthei lou amonsa dimset in aum e.
One basket [had] very good figs, [even] like the figs [that are] first ripe: and the other basket [had] very poor figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
3 Chuin Pakaiyin kajah’a, “Jeremiah, ipi namum?’’ ati. Keiman kadonbut in,’’Theichangga pochani dim kamui. Aga pha hochu ahoilheh in; Aga phalou ho chu nehtheilou amon ngen ahiuve,’’ kati.
Then said the LORD to me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? and I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, that cannot be eaten, they are so bad.
4 Chujouvin, Pakai thusei hichehi, kaheng ahung lhung e.
Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
5 Pakai, Israel Pathen in hitin aseiye, “Judah gamsunga kon’a Babylon gam’a sohchanga kikaimang ho chu, theichangga apha leh ahoisel ho banga kagel ahi.
Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for [their] good.
6 Keiman amaho kavetlhih jinga kachin jing ding, chuleh amaho chu hiche gamsunga kahin lepuilut kitding ahiuve.
For I will set my eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull [them] down; and I will plant them, and not pluck [them] up.
7 Keiman amaho hi, keima Pakai kahi ti eihetjing nadiu lungchang kapeh diu ahiuve. Chuleh amaho kamite hiuva, keima a Pathen u kahiding; Chutahle amaho alungthim pumpiuva kaheng’a hung kile kitdiu ahiuve.
And I will give them a heart to know me, that I [am] the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return to me with their whole heart.
8 Chuleh theichangga phalou chu, Judah lengpa Zedekiah leh achapate, Jerusalem’a umden ho leh Egypt gamsunga cheng den ho, kabolna ding vetsahna ahi. Keiman amaho chu theichangga phalou, nehtheilou amonsa banga kalah ahiuve.
And as the bad figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so bad; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:
9 Amaho hi keiman namtin vaipi mudinga, thet umtah leh melse tah’a kabol ding; Chuleh amaho hi, keiman muntin’a kadel manga, kathethang ding ahiuve. Chutia chu miho seiset leh nuisat a umding ahiuve.
And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for [their] hurt, [to be] a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.
10 Keiman amaho leh apu apateu kana pehsa gamsunga kon amanthah kahseuva chemjam kalha den diu, kel lha ding chule thina hise jong kalha khum diu ahi,” ati.
And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they are consumed from off the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.
