< Jacob 3 >
1 Sopi deitahte, mitampi hi houbunga mihilin pang hih un, ajeh chu ahila pangho chunga thutanna chu gihjo cheh ding ahi.
Be ye not many teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive the greater judgment.
2 Ahimongin, eiho jousen suhkhel tampi ineijiuve. Ajeh chu eihon ileiyu kithunun jou leuhen, eiho chamkim ihi dingu ahi chule thil danga jong kitim jou ihi dingu ahi.
For we all fail in many things; if any one fails not in word, the same is a perfect man, able even to bridle the whole body.
3 Eihon sakol lentah khu idei dei nauva ichesah theina dinguvin akamdal ikoipeh uvin ahi.
But if we put bridles into the mouths of the horses, that they may obey us; and we manage their whole body;
4 Chule Kong innei lenpitah jong chu ahehna neocha a chu atolpan achesah nomna lam lama aheiya, hui hat jongleh athunun ahi.
behold also the ships, being so great, and driven by fierce winds, are managed by the smallest rudder, whithersoever the will of the steersman prefers;
5 Hitobang maa chu lei hi thil neocha thil thupi tahtah ho seithei hiya ahi. Ahin mei-am neocha khat in gammang lentah akah lhah jengthei chu ahi.
so also the tongue is a little member, and it boasts great things. Behold, how great a wood a little fire kindles!
6 Chule leigui hi mei kong tobang ahi. Hiche hi vannoi gitlouna dimset, natahsa pumpi suboh ahi. Hiche hin nahinkho pumpi meiya ahalthei, ajeh chu hiche hin meidil meikou chu akahsah ahi. (Geenna )
The tongue, a fire, the world of iniquity: the tongue sits down in the midst of our members, and corrupting the whole body, and setting on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire from hell. (Geenna )
7 Miho hin ganhing jouse, vacha ho, a-op a kitholho chule ngaho avah ngoi theicheh-e,
For every nature both of wild beasts, and of birds, and of creeping things, and of oceanic animals, is subdued, and has been subjugated to human nature:
8 Hinlah koiman lei hi avah ngoi joupoi. Hiche hi kicholdo theilou le gilou, thina thei gu dimset ahi.
but no one of men is able to tame the tongue; an incorrigible evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Khatvei kom le hiche hin IPakaiyu le Pachu avahchoiyin, chule khatvei kom le Pathen lima kisem chu agaosap jin ahi.
With it we bless the Lord, even the Father; and with it we scold the people, who have been made after the image of God:
10 Chutia chu kamhom khat ma a kona chu phatthei bohna le gaosapna hung kisunglha khom jia ahi.
out of the same mouth come forth blessing and scolding. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Twinah khat a kona chu twi thengsel le twi kha putdoh khom ngaiyem?
Whether does the fountain out of the same chink send forth sweet water and bitter?
12 Theichang phungin olive ga asodoh theija ahilouleh leng piguiyin theichang ga asodoh theiyem? Ahipoi, nangman twitheng chu chitwiya konin nathaldoh thei poi.
My brethren, whether is the fig-tree able to produce olives, or the vine figs? Neither is the bitter fountain able to produce sweet water.
13 Nangma nachih a chule Pathen lamlhah ho chu nahet a ahileh, jabolna lama hinkho naman chu aphotchenna hihen chule chihna a kona natohpha kineosahna hinsodoh hen.
Who is wise and instructed among you? Let him show forth out of beautiful conduct his works in meekness of wisdom.
14 Hinlah nanghon kithangthip tona naneiyuva chule nalunguva chang phatchomna hollea nahiuleh, thutah lekhuna a kiletsahna pum le jouvin thu seihih un.
But if you have bitter envy and strife in your heart, do not boast, and lie against the truth.
15 Ajeh chu kithangthip le chang phatchomna holna ho hi Pathen'a hungkon chihna chu ahipoi. Hiti hohi leiset thudol, lhagao thu hilou chule lhagao gilouva kon joh ahi.
This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but it is earthly, intellectual, and demoniacal.
16 Ajeh chu, kimit thipna le chang phatchomna umna mun a chu phatlouna jouse le kitomona namu ding ahi.
For where there are envy and strife, there are contention and every evil work.
17 Hinlah, chunga kona chihna hi amasapen a atheng ahi. Chujongleh chamna ngaichatna, phat jousea lungneng, chule midang thua jong nung nom tina ahi. Khotona dimset le thilpha bolna asodoh in ahi. Koima lama langkaina aneipon chule lungdih pun aum jinge.
But the wisdom which is from above is indeed first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easily persuaded, full of mercy and of good works, free from partiality and hypocrisy.
18 Chule kicham ding deiho dinga chamna muchi kitu ding chule chonphatna tohga chu amuding ahitai.
But the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace to those who are making peace.
