< Isaiah 49 >

1 Agamla gam hoa umjousen kasei ngaijun! Gamla tah’a hon lunglutnin ngaijuvin! Pakaiyin kapen lhah masanga einakou ahitai; naobu sunga kaumna’a Ama’n kamin'a einakou ahitai.
Hearken, O isles, unto me; and listen, ye people, from afar: The Lord hath called me from my birth; from my mother's womb hath he made mention of my name.
2 Aman geltoh’a thu kaseiho chu chemjam bangin ahemsah’e. Aman akhut lea eisellin, keima Ama livathei’a thalchang tobang kahi.
And he hath rendered my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hidden me: and he hath rendered me as a polished arrow; in his quiver hath he concealed me;
3 Aman kajah’a: ‘Israel, nangma kalhachapa nahi, chule keima loupina’a neilut pi ding ahi,”tin aseije.
And said unto me, My servant art thou, O Israel, thou on whom I will be glorified.
4 Keima’n ka donbutnin, “Hijongleh katoh hi phatchomna bei abang jenge! Keiman katha hi pana beija mangcha’a le abidoi beija kabang jenge. Hinla keiman aboncha Pakai khutna ngama kahin; kachan ding kipaman Pathen’a ngam ding kahi.
But I had indeed said, For no purpose have I labored, for naught and vanity have I spent my strength; yet surely my cause is with the Lord, and the recompense of my work with my God.
5 Chule tun Pakaiyin aseijin, Kanu oisunga alhacha dinga eihin gonga, Israel chu Ama koma dinga hinle pui dinga ei’soldohpa ahi. Pakaiyin eijabollin, chule Ka Pathen’in thahatna eipei.
And now hath said the Lord that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, that Israel may be gathered unto him, that I should be honored in the eyes of the Lord, while my God was my strength, —
6 Ama’n aseije, “Nangman Israelte chu kahenga dinga na kiledohsah mai maibep ding ahipoi. Keima’n nangma Gentel tedinga vah’a ka pansah ding, chule ka huhhingna chu leiset kolkimvel’a napoh le ding ahitai.
And he said, It is too light a thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to bring back the preserved of Israel! but I will [also] appoint thee for a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach as far as the end of the earth.
7 Pakai, Huhhingpu le Israel Mithengpa chun namtin vaipi nahsahmo le deilouva kibolpa, vaipo ho lhacha’a pangpa hengah: Nangma na chepetnin lengho chun jana napeh dingu, leng chapate ho jong hung kun ding ahiuve, ajeh chu, Pakai tahsan umtah pa, Israel dinga Athengpa, na deilhenpa jal hiding ahi.
Thus hath said the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him who is despised by men, to him who is abhorred by nations, to the servant of rulers, Kings shall see it and rise up, princes, and they shall prostrate themselves, for the sake of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who hath made choice of thee.
8 Hiche hi Pakaiyin asei chu: “Aphatcha, keiman kadonbut ding nahi. “Huhhingna nikhoa keiman kalethuh ding nahi. Keiman nangma kavenbitna chule amahoto kakitepna dung jui’a kapeh ding nahi. Nangma’a konna Israel gam avel’a ka tundoh kitding chule amite avella ka nganse kitding ahi.
Thus hath said the Lord, In the time of favor have I answered thee, and on the day of salvation have I helped thee; and I will preserve thee, and I will appoint thee as a people of my covenant to raise up the land, to divide out desolate heritages;
9 Keiman sohchang jah’a, ‘Chamlhatnin hung potdoh'in, chule muthim lah’a umho jah’a, ‘vah sung’a hungin.’ Amaho ka kelngoi hi diu chule mol ho atilla imacha kelouna muna chu ne’a lha le dingu ahitai.
When I say to the prisoners, Go forth; to those that are in darkness, Show yourselves. On the roads shall they feed, and on all mountain-peaks shall be their pasture.
10 Amaho gilkel kit talou dingu chule dangchah kit talou hel dingu ahitai. Nisa satnin amaho aphah kit tahlou hel dingu ahitai. Ajeh iham itileh Pakai Amilungsetna chun amaho apui le dingu; Aman amaho chu twi dap jin jen muna apui ding ahi.
They shall not be hungry nor thirsty, and neither heat nor sun shall smite them; for he that hath mercy on them will lead them, and by springs of water will he guide them.
11 Chule Keiman ka lhang sang ho chu lampia kijotna thei hoa seming ting, sem toh ing ting, chule phaicham ho chung vum'a Kalam lhongpi ho chu kisem ding ahije.
And I will change all my mountains into a road, and my highways shall be lifted up.
12 Vetemin, ka mite chu gamla tah gam'a kona hung kilekit’uvintin, sahlam le lhumlam gam hoa konin, chule Aigupta gam noilam peh’a konna hung ding ahiuve.
Behold, these shall come from afar; and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13 Vo vanho, kipah in la sauvin! Vo leiset, kipah thanomin umun! Vo Lhangho lasa dingin pohjah jenguvin. Ajeh chu Pakaiyin amite alhamonin chule athoh gim nau chunga akhoton ahi.
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth, O mountains, into song; for the Lord hath comforted his people, and upon his oppressed will he have mercy.
14 Ahijeng vang'in Jerusalem’in aseijin, “Pakaiyin ei nungsun tauve; Pakaiyin ei sumil del tauve,”ati.
Yet Zion said, the Eternal hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.
15 Hinaisai louve! Mi nun acha noichep sah lai asuh mil thei ding hija ham? Aman ahinsa acha chu ngailu louva umthei ding ham? Hijong chu hithei maithei ding hijongleh, Keiman nangho hi suhmil louhel ding kahi.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, not to have mercy on the son of her body? yea, should these even forget, yet would I not forget thee.
16 Veuvin, Keiman namin chu kakhut phang teni chunga kajih lut tai. Kalung gel jousea Jerusalem bang kiphelha’amang thahsa ho chu aki lang jinge.
Behold, upon the palms of my hands have I engraved thee; thy walls are continually before me.
17 Gangtah’a nachilhah ho chu hung kile kit diu, chule nasumang go jou seu chu chemang diu ahitai.
Thy children come in haste; thy destroyers and they that laid thee waste shall go away from thee.
18 Dahdoh unlang chule veuvin, ajeh chu na chateu chu abonuva nahenguva hung kile kit ding ahiuve, Keima kahing jingnai, tin Pakaiyin aseije: Amaho chu kijepnaho le mounu kijepnaho tobanga navetsah ding ahitai.
Lift up thy eyes round about, and see; they all are assembled together, they come to thee: as I live, saith the Lord, thou shalt surely clothe thyself with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride.
19 Nanghon nanung sun dehset nau nagam leiset’u chu namite kititna mun hung hiding ahitai. Soh’a navul’uva pangho chu gamla tah ‘a che mang diu ahitai.
For thy ruins and thy desolate places, and thy wasted land, —yea, now shall it be too narrow for thee by reason of the inhabitants, and thy destroyers shall be far away.
20 Akipui mang nauva ana peng khang miteho chu hung kinung le diu chule asei diu chu: Keihon mun kangaicha beuve! Miho atam kitit behseh tauve, tia ahinsei dingu ahi.
Yet again will say before thy ears the children of whom thou wast deprived, The place is too narrow for me; make room for me that I may dwell.
21 Chuteng leh, nangman, ‘Hiche chilhah ho jouse hi kon einapeh hija ham? tia nalunga nagel ding ahi. Ajeh chu ka chate atamjo pi chu akithat gam'a ahitan, chule amoh chengse chu gam danga kipui manguva ahitai. Keima bou hi hiche muna hi kachang seh’a eikidalha ahibouve. Hiche miteho hi hoiya konna hung hiu vem? Hiche chapangho hi koi hin hiu vem? Keima dinga kon eihin sindohpeh’u ahi dem?
And thou wilt say in thy heart, Who hath born me these, seeing I was bereft of my children, and was solitary, an exile, and outcast? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left entirely alone; these, where have they been?
22 Hiche hi Hatchungnungpen Pakaiyin asei chu ahi, “Ven, Keiman Pathen ngaisah lou nam mite vetsahna kapeh ding ahi. Ama hon nachapa neocha chaho chu abanjal’uva apoh ding’u; nachanu teu chu a lengkou’uva ahin poh dingu ahi.
Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will lift up to the nations my hand, and to the people will I raise up high my standard; and they shall bring thy sons in [their] arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon shoulders.
23 Lengho le Lengnu hon najen le dingu chule na ngaichat hou jouse avetsui dingu ahi. Amaho chu tolla hung kun diu chule nakenga vutvai ho chu ahung le ngim diu ahi. Amaho chun Keima Pakai kitipa chu kahin, keima eitahsan ho chu itih chan hijongleh jachatna toh pouvinte.
And kings shall be thy nursing-fathers, and their princesses thy nursing-mothers; with the face toward the earth shall they bow down to thee, and the dust of thy feet shall they lick up: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord, who will not suffer those who hope in me to be ashamed.
24 Gal hatpa’a konna athil chomdoh ho chu alahpeh ngam’a koi hija chule gilou tah vaipopa’a konna asohchang chu kon alha doh ding ham?
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or shall the captive of the victor escape?
25 Hinla Pakaiyin aseije:”Gal bolpa sohchangho chu kilhadoh ding, chule gilou tah’a thil kichom doh chu kilemu kit ding ahi. Ajeh chu nangma gal’a nasat ho gal’a kisat ding, chule keiman nachate kahuhdoh ding ahi.
For thus hath said the Lord, Also the captive of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the powerful shall escape; and with those who contend against thee will I contend, and thy children will I indeed save.
26 Keiman na melmate chu amaho atahsau chu kale nehsah ding ahi. Ama hon athisan’u vadung tobanga long chu adon dingu ahi. Vannoi pum pin Keima, Pakai, na huhhingpa’u le na Chodoh pau, Israel dinga hatchungnung chu kahi.
And I will feed thy oppressors with their own flesh; and as with new wine shall they be made drunken with their own blood: and all flesh shall know that I the Eternal am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer the Mighty One of Jacob.
