< Isaiah 42 >

1 Kalhachapa, keiman thahatna kapeh pachu veuvin. Ama kadeilhenpa eilung lhaipen’a chu ahi. Keiman Kalhagao asunga kakhumpeh tai. Aman chitin-namtin lah’a thu adih’a atan ding ahi.
Look! Here is my servant, the one I support; my chosen one who pleases me. I have placed my Spirit on him, and he will show the nations what is right.
2 Aman kho sampon tin, mipi lah’a jong aw sanga thu aseilou ding ahi.
He won't shout or cry out; he won't raise his voice in the street.
3 Aman pumpeng chip jong ahebohpai lou ding chule khoilu thaomeipat akhulai jong asuhmit pai jeng lou ding ahi. Aman alamlouva kibol ho jong abonchauva chunga thu adih’a atan ding ahi.
He won't break a damaged reed; he won't snuff out a smoldering wick. He will faithfully make sure everyone is treated fairly.
4 Leiset pumpia thu adih’a vaihomna aum masang sea, Ama lhasam pontin, lung jong lunglha lou ding ahi. Gamla tah’a gamho twikhanglen gal lama hon jong ama thupeh anga diu ahi.
He won't give up or become discouraged until he has made sure that justice is upheld throughout the world. Even lands overseas will look forward to his teachings.
5 Pakai Pathen’in vanho asem’in chule apha jal lin ahi. Aman leiset le asunga umjouse asem’in ahi. Ama’n mi jouse haitheina hu ape’in, leiset chunga vahthei jouse hinna apeh ahi.
This is what God the Lord says, the one who created the heavens and stretched them out, who made the earth and everything in it, who gives breath to the people on it, and life to those who live there:
6 Pakai kiti Keima, kachonphatna vetsah dinga kakou nahi. Keiman nangma kakhutna kapuija chule kahonbit nahin, chule kamite Israel te henga kapeh nahi hi keima toh amaho kakitepna vetsahna khat ahitai. Chule nangma chitin-namtin puihoi lea napan ding ahije.
“I, the Lord, have called you to demonstrate what's right, and I will hold your hand. I will take care of you, and give you as a sign of my agreement with the people and as a light to the nations.
7 Nangman mitcho ho kho namusah ding, sohchang ho songkulla konna nacham lhatsah ding chule songkul thim lah’a touho chamlhat sah ding nahi.
You will make the blind see, set free those who are locked up, and lead those who sit in darkness out from prison.
8 Keima Pakai kitipa chu Kamin ahi! Ka loupina chu koima dang kapehdoh lou ding, chule eivahchoi nau semthu milim ho chuto chan kaneitha lou ding ahi.
I am the Lord—that is my name! I do not give my honor to anyone else; I do not give my praise to idols.
9 Gao thuseina kanei chasun aguilhung cheh in, chule tun keiman gao thu kasei kit ding ahi. Ahung guilhun masanga khonung thudol kaseipeh ding nahi.
Notice that what I foretold has come true, as will the new things I'm saying to you now. I tell you what will happen before it does.”
10 Pakaija lathah sauvin! Ama vahchoina ho leiset kolning lia chenghon sauvin! Twikhang len hoa kongtol ho le nangho twikol gam mun gam latah’a chengho geijin jong nabonchauvin la sauvin.
Sing a new song to the Lord! Sing praise from everywhere on earth, you who sail on the sea and everything in it, you islands and everyone who lives in them.
11 Gamthipma um khopiho lachom kisahna’a jao’uvin; Kedar khoho jong kipah uhen. Sela mite hon kipah in la sauhen; lhangchung vum hoa konin vahchoina ho sap thouvin!
Let the people in the desert and its towns shout; let the people of the villages of Kedar cry out loud. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops.
12 Vannoi pumpin Pakai chu loupina peuhen; Avahchoina sauhen.
Let them glorify the Lord and praise him in the islands.
13 Mihat chungnung tah tobang'in PAKAIchu kipandoh intin, galsatpa tobanga lunghang tah’a kondoh ding ahi. Aman galsatna dinga kholhang asapma, amelmate jouse achilgoi ding ahi.
Like a mighty warrior the Lord will march out, like a seasoned soldier he goes out with courage. He gives his war-cry, shouting as he battles and defeats his enemies.
14 Ama’n, Keima sottahpi kathip beh anahita’n, ahinai, keima hi kana kikangse anahi. Hinla tua hi naosonat thoh minu khat tobanga kapenna chule kakhoisatna, chule ka-eo’jah jeng ding ahitai.
“I didn't say anything for a long time, I kept quiet and restrained myself. But now like a woman giving birth, I will moan and gasp and pant.
15 Keiman lhangsang ho le mol ho chu kasuhcham ding chule a’eng jin jen ho kasuhmangpeh ding ahi. Keiman vadung ho chu tolgolai kaso ding chule twi kiveina mun jouse chu kangsoh ding ahiuve.
I will dry up the mountains and the hills, and make all their greenery wither. I will turn rivers into islands and dry up the pools.
16 Keiman khomulou Israel chu lampi thah’a kapuile ding, ache khahlou nauva kapui le ding ahi. Keiman amasangu lampi thim jong kavahsah ding, chule amasangu lampi kanamsah ding ahi. Hitia hi keiman hichengse hi kabol ding, amaho kanungsun lou dingu ahi.
I will lead the blind along a road they don't know; I will guide them along paths they don't know. I will turn darkness into light before them, and smooth out the rough places. This is what I'm going to do for them; I won't let them down.
17 Hinla semthu milim tahsan ho, nangho ka pathenu nahi tiho chu, jacha’a kihei mang ding ahiuve.
But those who trust in idols and say to images, ‘You are our gods!’ will be rejected in humiliation and shame.
18 Na’ngong hon ngaijun, mitcho nang hon veuvin, muchen’un.
Listen, you deaf people! Look and see, you blind people!
19 Kamite, tobanga mitchoa kasoh, koi um’em? Ka sottol tobanga na ngonga koi umem? Kalhendoh mite, Pakai sohpa, tobanga mitcho koi um’em?
Who is blind like my servant? Who is deaf like my messenger that I send? Who is as blind as the people of the agreement? Who is as blind as the servant of the Lord?
20 Nangman adih chu ipi ham? ti namun chule nahedoh jengin, hinla hiche chu nabolnom hih in ahi. Na nabeng’a najanai, hinla jahchet ding nagopoi.
You've looked at many things but have not really seen; you've heard but never really listened.”
21 Pakai chu chondih tah ahijeh'in, Athu loupitah chu achoi’an tai.
Because the Lord does what is right he wanted to show how important and wonderful his instructions were.
22 Hinla Amite chu aneiju achom’un chule asuhmang peh’un, asohchang un, songkul'a’a ahenun, chule thang kolla a’oh gam tauve.
But this people ended up robbed and raided, all of them trapped in holes or hidden in prisons. They have been stolen like loot, with no one to save them from being someone's prize, no one to say “Give them back!”
23 Hiche thuhi koijin thusim’a kona angaija, ahetdoh thei’ uva chule khonunga thil hung kisumang dingho nanga diu ham?
Who of you is going to listen to this, or pay attention later on?
24 Israel chu chomgam dingle suhkhah dinga phatsah koi ham? Ama douna’a ichonset jeh’uva Pakai chun aphal jeh ahi. Ajeh chu miho chu Alamlhah a che nom hih’uva, A Danthu jong ajui nom lou jeh’u ahi.
Who let Jacob be taken as loot; who let Israel be taken by robbers? Wasn't it the Lord who we sinned against? The people weren't willing to follow his ways, and they refused to obey his law.
25 Hijeh’a hi Alunghanna chu achunguva abuhlhah’a, chule gal’a atha’u ahi. Amaho chu meilhum sunga akilelut jeng vanguvin, hetdoh ding agopouve. Amaho meikouva akihal jeng vang’un, chihnan aneideh pouve.
So he poured out his furious anger on them, and the violence of war. Even though they were surrounded by flames, but they still didn't understand. The fire burned them up, but they still did not take the situation seriously.
