< Isaiah 23 >

1 Tyre chung chang thua hitihin thuhil ahunge kap un, Aw Tarshish a um konglen cheng, ajehchu kong kaimun leh Tyre injouse aum gam tapoi! Cyprus akon'a thu kithang najah u chu adih soh kei ahi.
The doom of Tyre. Wail, ye ships of Tharshish; for it is laid waste, without house, without entrance: from the land of Kittim hath it been revealed to them.
2 Thipchet nin puldou un, twikhanglen pama umho leh sidon a sumkolvei ho. Na sumkolvei miho chun twipi agal kai tao vin.
Be silent, ye inhabitants of the coast-land: the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea [formerly] filled thee.
3 Twi thuh tah chunga akitol un ahi. Amaho chun chang le mim Egypt gam a konin nahin poh peh un chule Nile joi ah konin nahin poh peh uve. Vannoi in kailhang kiveina mun'a nanei u ahi.
And on mighty waters [came] the seed of Shichor, the harvest of the stream, as her revenue; and she became the mart of nations.
4 ahin tun jachat thoh in nakikoi tai, Sidon khopi, ajeh chu Tyre, twikhanglen kulpi chun aseije, “Tun chaneilou kahitai; Chanu leh chapa hojong kanei poi.”
Be ashamed, O Zion; for spoken hath the sea, the stronghold of the sea, saying, I travailed not, nor brought forth children, neither did I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.
5 Tyre chung chang thusoh ho, Egypten ahin jah teng leh lunghem na nasatah hung umding ahi.
As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they tremble at the report of Tyre.
6 Tarshish a tun thuthot nin! Kap loi loi un, gamlatah a cheng mipi ho!
Pass ye over to Tharshish; wail, ye inhabitants of the coast-land.
7 Na khopi kipana leh thanopna mun tia ana kihe chu, tua thipchetna mangthai a bou kihe a hitam? Malai na umchan thusim hi asao mong monge! Kho a cheng mi gamlatah a nasoldoh chu ngaiton.
Is this your fate, ye of the joyous [city]? she whose antiquity is of ancient days—her own feet shall carry her, afar off to sojourn.
8 Vangsetna Tyre chunga hinlhun sah a, lenggam ho hin phutdoh mihattah chu koi ham? Amite akivei hojong leng chapate ngen ana hiuvin, a sumkolvei miho jong alen alal ngen ana hiuve.
Who hath resolved this against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are the honorable of the earth?
9 Van janel Pakai chun na kiletsahna suh mang nadinga anabol ahin, leiset chunga dinmun sangtah'a umho asuhnem ding ahi.
The Lord hath resolved it, to dishonor the pride of all ornament, to make of light esteem all the honorable of the earth.
10 Hungun, nangho Tarshish mite, Nile a tuilen bangin agamsung chu theh doh in, ajehchu Tyre in kivenna ding aneitapoi.
Pass through thy land as a stream, O daughter of Tharshish: there is no more strength.
11 Pakai in tuipi chunga akhut ahin jah doh in, leiset lenggam jouse ahin hotlingin ahi, Phoenicia douna thu ahin seijin, akulpiu suhmang din thu ahinpei.
He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he hath shaken kingdoms; the Lord hath given a command against Canaan, to subvert its strongholds.
12 Hitin aseije, “Nakipa thanop kit tah louhel ding, O Sidon chanu, na kisugam a nahitai. Cyprus gam geijin jam jong lechun, kicholna ding namu louding ahi.”
And he said, Thou shalt no longer rejoice any more, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to the Kittim; also there shalt thou have no rest.
13 Babylon gam khu ven-hiche a cheng gam mite chu a umtapoi je! Assyrian ten Babylon chu nelgam a um gamsa ho apedoh taovin ahi. Bangho a um kimun, leng inpi aphelhao vin, songhal song bong ho aselom taovin ahi.
Behold the land of the Chaldeans—this people which was not, Asshur founded it for the dwellers in the wilderness—they have set up their watchtowers, have overthrown its palaces, have rendered it a heap of ruins.
14 Ka pun, O Tarshish kong len ho, ajehchu na kongkaimun uchu akisumang tai!
Wail, ye ships of Tharshish; your stronghold is laid waste.
15 Lengpa hinkho chu kum som sagi a saoding, Tyre chu suhmil a umding ahitai. Ahin noti chunga la kisa banga khopi chu hung uldoh kit ding ahi:
And it shall come to pass on that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, like the days of one king: at the end of seventy years shall it happen to Tyre as in the song of the harlot.
16 Selangdah kichoi jin lang, lamlen a vahlen, suhmil a um, notinu. Na kigel doh kit din, awngei tah in nala ho chu sa in.
“Take the harp, go round about the city, thou forgotten harlot; make sweet music, sing many songs, in order that thou mayest be remembered.”
17 Ahi, kum som sagi jouleh Pakai in Tyre asuh thou kit ding ahi. Ahin amasa a sangin lamdang dehlou ding ahi. Vannoi lenggam jouse adinga notinu hikit ding ahi.
And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the Lord will visit Tyre, and she shall return to her hire, and shall have commerce with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
18 Ahin achaina leh atong jouse Pakai kipe ding ahi. A gou ho kikhol khom louding, amavang Pakai thempuho adin anpha leh vonpha channa a anei diu ahi.
And her gain and her hire shall be holy to the Lord: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; but for those that dwell before the Lord shall her gain be, to eat to fulness, and for magnificent clothing.
