< Isaiah 14 >

1 Ahin Pakaijin Jacob son le pah ho chunga hepina aneiding ahi. Israel mite chu a mite hidia a tumbeh a alhen doh thah kit ding ahi. Agam sunguva chengdia ahin lepui kit ding ahi. Chuleh mipi gamtin namtin akona hung diu, Israel mite toh hung kigom khom diu ahi.
For the LORD will have compassion on Jacob; once again He will choose Israel and settle them in their own land. The foreigner will join them and unite with the house of Jacob.
2 Vannoi namtin in Pakai mite ahung kile nadiu va ana panpi soh keidiu, agam uva hung cheng hon Israel te jenle a pangdiu ahi. Israel manna’a anapang hon amaho leh amaho hung kiman tup untin, chuleh Israel in agal miteu chunga vai ahop dingu ahi.
The nations will escort Israel and bring it to its homeland. Then the house of Israel will possess the nations as menservants and maidservants in the LORD’s land. They will make captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors.
3 Hiche kidangtah nikho le chun, Pakai jin amite lunghem naleh kichatna akon, soh hina leh aki hennao akon choldona apeh diu ahi.
On the day that the LORD gives you rest from your pain and torment, and from the hard labor into which you were forced,
4 Babylon lengpa douna a thu nasei ding, “Mi thahatpa akisumang tai. Henge, na kiletsahna chu akichai tai.
you will sing this song of contempt against the king of Babylon: How the oppressor has ceased, and how his fury has ended!
5 Ajeh chu Pakai jin nagit louna hattah chu asuchip in, navaihom dihlou chu asukeh in ahi.
The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers.
6 Lunghang in mipi chu akhonna umlou vin na von, chuleh chi le nam ho lunghangin naman chah kheh in, khotona neilou tah in mite nabol genthei e.
It struck the peoples in anger with unceasing blows; it subdued the nations in rage with relentless persecution.
7 Ahin achainan, leiset akicholdon athip chetne. Tun la sa kit thei tante!
All the earth is at peace and at rest; they break out in song.
8 Gammanga thingphung ho jengin jong-Cypress thingphung ho leh Lebanon a um Cedar thingphung ho-hiche kipana la hi asadoh uvin: “Nahung phuh lhuh a patnin, eiphuh lhudiu koima hung taponte!”
Even the cypresses and cedars of Lebanon exult over you: “Since you have been laid low, no woodcutter comes against us.”
9 “Thi umna munna” nahung lhun nin lung kicho thouna aumin ahi. Vannoi lamkai holeh leng len tah ho lhagao chun athinao sottah nungin nangma mu din ading doh sohkei juve. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol beneath is eager to meet you upon your arrival. It stirs the spirits of the dead to greet you— all the rulers of the earth. It makes all the kings of the nations rise from their thrones. (Sheol h7585)
10 Aw khat tah in ahung peng doh un, “Tun keiho hatlou bangin nang jong nahat jou tapoi!
They will all respond to you, saying, “You too have become weak, as we are; you have become like us!”
11 Nahat naleh nathil bol theina toh kivuitha a nahitai, naleng inpi a selangdah gin atan tai. Lung hohi nangdinga ponpha hintin, chuleh lungmul hohi nadinga samul pon ahi.” (Sheol h7585)
Your pomp has been brought down to Sheol, along with the music of your harps. Maggots are your bed and worms your blanket. (Sheol h7585)
12 “Vanna kon a iti nahung lhah ham, O valpa ahsi, jingkah chapa! Vannoi a chitin namtin sumangpa, leiset chunga din nolhah in na umtai.
How you have fallen from heaven, O day star, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O destroyer of nations.
13 Ajeh chu nang le nang na kihou vin, vanna kaltou ving katin, Pathen ahsi ho chung vum'a ka laltouna ki dong kate. Chuleh mol le lhang apat sah lang gamkai gamla tah a avaipon pang inge nati
You said in your heart: “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God. I will sit on the mount of assembly, in the far reaches of the north.
14 Vanchung sang penna kakal touding, chungnung penpa toh kabah ding ahi nati.
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”
15 Chusangin, thi umna munna nakipui lhan tin, leiset kotong thuhtah geija nakipui suh ding nahi. (Sheol h7585)
But you will be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. (Sheol h7585)
16 Amitakip in naven tin, adoh diu ahi 'Hichepa hi hilouham leiset hotlinga leh vannoi lenggam jouse kithinga lha achu?
Those who see you will stare; they will ponder your fate: “Is this the man who shook the earth and made the kingdoms tremble,
17 Amahi hilouham vannoi susea leh agam leiset moh sumang'a chu? Hiche lengpa hilou ham vannoi khopi len tah tah suchim a leh a songkul'a tangho hepina beija bol a chu?
who turned the world into a desert and destroyed its cities, who refused to let the captives return to their homes?”
18 “namtin lengho loupi tah in ama ama kivui na khuh a alum uvin ahi,
All the kings of the nations lie in state, each in his own tomb.
19 ahin nangma lhan akonna nahung kinodoh ding, pannabei thingbah nabah ding ahi. Mithi long kenga akilho khah banga japi lhan sunga na kileh lhantin, gal a kithat hotoh umkhom ding nahi. Kokhuh sunga nakum suh ding ahi.
But you are cast out of your grave like a rejected branch, covered by those slain with the sword, and dumped into a rocky pit like a carcass trampled underfoot.
20 Ahiding dol’n vui jong kivuipon nate, ajeh chu chitin namtin nasumangin chuleh namite jong tamtah nathat in ahi. Hitobang migilou son le pah hon jana leh choisangna amulou hel diu ahitai.
You will not join them in burial, since you have destroyed your land and slaughtered your own people. The offspring of the wicked will never again be mentioned.
21 Hiche mipa chate hohi thatdoh gamin! Apa u chonset jeh in thidoh uhen! Amaho kipat doh a vannoi leiset gal asat naova lolhing lou hel diu ahitai. Vannoi khopi len hon jong alo khum joulou hel diu ahitai.
Prepare a place to slaughter his sons for the iniquities of their forefathers. They will never rise up to possess a land or cover the earth with their cities.
22 Hichehi vanmi janel Pakai chun aseije: “Keima tah Babylon dou nan kana kipat doh e! Achate le atu achate kasuh mang ding ahi, “tin Pakai jin aseijin ahi.
“I will rise up against them,” declares the LORD of Hosts. “I will cut off from Babylon her name and her remnant, her offspring and her posterity,”
23 “Keiman Babylon hi koima umlouna mun kaso a, sumbuchanglit umna mun kasoding ahi. Agam jong chu doplah ngen hiding ahi. Suhgam na muntheh'a agam katheh ngim hel ding ahi. Keima, janel Pakai jin kasei ahi.”
“I will make her a place for owls and for swamplands; I will sweep her away with the broom of destruction,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
24 Thaneipen Pakai hiti hin akitep in ahi: “Kathil gon banga hungsoh doh ding ahi. Ka thulhuh banga hung um ding ahi.
The LORD of Hosts has sworn: “Surely, as I have planned, so will it be; as I have purposed, so will it stand.
25 Assyria te Israel a aumteng u leh kasuh keh ding; ka mol le lhanga aum teng u leh kachot pha soh kei diu ahi. Ka mite chu amaho soh hita loudiu, anoi uva jong kun talou diu ahi.
I will break Assyria in My land; I will trample him on My mountain. His yoke will be taken off My people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.”
26 Vannoi leiset adin thilgon khat kaneijin, chitin namtin chunga thutanna umding ahi.
This is the plan devised for the whole earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations.
27 Van janel Pakai chun aphongdoh tai- koi ham athilgon khel theidinga? Akhut ajahteng koiham a sutang jou dinga?”
The LORD of Hosts has purposed, and who can thwart Him? His hand is outstretched, so who can turn it back?
28 Hiche thuhil hi leng Ahaz thikum in kahenga ahungin:
In the year that King Ahaz died, this burden was received:
29 Kipah thanom hih uvin, nangho Philistine te, naki jepnao mol lhon chu abongtai tin-gal eisatpao leng chu athitai. Ajehchu hiche gul a kona chu guhat tah nei gul hung pengdoh kitding, na sumang diu gul hang tah hung umding ahi.
Do not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken. For a viper will spring from the root of the snake, and a flying serpent from its egg.
30 Migenthei te keiman kavah ding; genthei vaichaho lungmonga kicholdo diu ahi. Ahin nangvang nelou chalouva katheh dohding chule amoh cheng jong kasuhmang ding ahi.
Then the firstborn of the poor will find pasture, and the needy will lie down in safety, but I will kill your root by famine, and your remnant will be slain.
31 Kotpi achun puldou in kap in! Khopi sunga chun lhasetah in kap in! Kichatah in umun, nangho Philistines te! Thanei tah galsat ho sahlang meikhu banga hung kitol diu ahi. Sepai ho khat cheh ahi galsat lungvil a phut ngen ahiuve.
Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city! Melt away, all you Philistines! For a cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there are no stragglers in its ranks.
32 Philistine palai ho ipi iseipeh diu ham? Seipeh un, “Pakai in Jerusalem asa doh tai bol gimma umten abang pang dungu kichol do na a ahinnei dingu ahi.
What answer will be given to the envoys of that nation? “The LORD has founded Zion, where His afflicted people will find refuge.”
