< Hosea 8 >
1 “Pakai mite douna-a, galmite muvanlai banga hung ding ahi. Ajeh chu amahon kakitepna asukehun ahi. Chule ka danthu dounan asukhel taove.
“Put the trumpet to your lips! Something like an eagle is over the LORD’s house, because they have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.
2 Ka Pathen keihon nangma kaheuve, tia Israel chu kaheng lama hungpeng ding ahi.
They cry to me, ‘My God, we, Israel, acknowledge you!’
3 Ahinlah tun ageisangtai, kami Israelten thilpha adeipouve.
Israel has cast off that which is good. The enemy will pursue him.
4 Keimaa kon hilouvin, amahon lengho akitun dohuvin, apipui ho akisemun, hichu keiman kahephapoi. Paidoha aum nadiuvin, adangka le a sana houvin, milim akisemun ahi.
They have set up kings, but not by me. They have made princes, and I didn’t approve. Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols, that they may be cut off.
5 Vo Samaria nabong nouvin nangma napampai ahitan, Kalung hanna nangma douna-a koudoh ahitai. Monabei ahina dingu chu itihchan hinalai dingham?
Let Samaria throw out his calf idol! My anger burns against them! How long will it be until they are capable of purity?
6 Ajeh chu Israel a kona jong chuti ahi, khutthem miho thilsem ahin, Hijeh chun Pathen ahipoi, chuleh Samaria bongnou chu ahal halla kisuchip ding ahi.
For this is even from Israel! The workman made it, and it is no God; indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7 Amahon hui chu muchi tua atu-u ahin, chimpei akiat dingu ahi. Hichun kung aneipon, adon jong chun nehding agadoh sah theilou ahi.
For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. He has no standing grain. The stalk will yield no head. If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.
8 Israel mite vallhumin aumtai, tun amaho chu vannoiya chiding namdang ho lah-a lunglhaina umloubeh tobang hiding ahitauve.
Israel is swallowed up. Now they are amongst the nations like a worthless thing.
9 Ejeh inem itile amaho gamlaha sangan chang lhat bangin Assyria mite heng lama achetouvun ahi. Ephraim in kideipi din aki thalahe. Israel mite hi amale ama kijoh ahiuvin, angailut miho koma kijoh ahiuve.
For they have gone up to Assyria, like a wild donkey wandering alone. Ephraim has hired lovers for himself.
10 Ahinlah mi tamtah ho koma kijoh jongleu, nikhatle ka puikhom ding ahi.
But although they sold themselves amongst the nations, I will now gather them; and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.
11 Israel in chonset pomang dingin maicham tampi asem jeh'in, maicham ho chu ama dinga chonsetna ding joh ahung hitai.
Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning, they became for him altars for sinning.
12 Dan tamtah kapeh vang'in, hiche ho chu hepha lou bangin angaitoi.
I wrote for him the many things of my law, but they were regarded as a strange thing.
13 Israel miten gan-kilhaina thilto angailuvin, ahinlah hichu keidin pannabei ahi.
As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it, but the LORD doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.
14 Israel in asempa asumilin, in thupitah tah asan, chule Judan kulpi nei khopi apunsah in ahi. Hijeh a chu keiman khopi ho chunga mei kasol ding, hichun, aleng inpihou akah chai ding ahi.
For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire on his cities, and it will devour its fortresses.”
