< Hosea 11 >

1 Israel chu aneolaiyin kangailui, chule kachapa chu Egypt gam'a konin kakou doh’e. Kaha kouva ahile, gamla cheh cheh in eidalhauvin. Baal doiho ahouvin, kilhaina gantha abolluvin ahi. Milim doi kisemthu ho pou chu ahouvun Gimnamtwi alhutun ahi.
When Israel was young, then I began to love him, and out of Egypt I called my son.
2
The more I called them, the further they went away from me. They kept sacrificing to Baals and making offerings to idols.
3 Keima tahin Israel alamjot dingdan kahil ahi, kakhutah-a katua kana lamkaiyu ahi. Ahinla aman ima ahepon, donin jong eiseppoi. Hitiho chu keima kanahi lam jong ahepouve.
Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them up in my arms, but they did not know that I healed them.
4 Keiman ngailutna khaoguile voujang natna khaovin kana lamkaiyin, angonguva namkol kibut lahdohpeha pangpa tobang kanahin chule anehdiu kana luipehe.
With humane cords I ever drew them, with bands of love. I was to them as one who lifts up the yoke from off their jaws, and bending toward them, I gave them food to eat.
5 Ahinlah hichangeijin kamite kahenglama ahung kile pouvin ahi. hijeh chun Egypt gamah kinungle uvintin, namphu in Assyria jennauvinte.
No! They return to the land of Egypt, Assyria will be their king, for they have refused to return to me.
6 Akhopi hou chunga gal kisat umding, kelkot phunga kotgol jouse ataboh soh keija kulpi phungdunga chemjam alapdiu ahi.
Therefore the swords will whirl in their cities, will devour in their fortresses.
7 Kamite keiya kona kinungtol kitdiu, Chunung Penpa tia eikoudiu, Ahinlah jana tahbeh eipenom hihunte.
For my people are bent in rebellion against me, even if they call on the Most High he will not raise them.
8 O Israel keiman nangho iti kadop sang thei diu ham? Keiman nang ho hi iti kasoldoh thei dingu ham? Keiman nangho hi Admah banga iti kasuhmang thei dingu ham? Ahiloule Keiman nangma hi iti Zeboiim tobanga kakoi ding ham? Kalungchang sunglamah akibotkehin chule kami khotona aletlhatai.
How can I give you up, Ephraim! Give you over, Israel! How am I to give you up as Admah! Make you like Zeboim! My heart asserts itself, my sympathies are all aglow.
9 Kalungnat tijat chu boldating, Israel suhmang kitdin gong taponge. Ajeh chu keima Pathen kahin, mihem kahipoi. Keima Atheng, nalahuva um chu kahin, nangho hung suhmang ponge.
I will not carry into effect the fierceness of my anger, I will not turn to destroy Ephraim, for God am I, and not man, holy in the midst of you, therefore I will not consume.
10 Itihham nikho leh mipiten kanung ahinjui dingu ahi. Kei, Pakai, Keipi banga kitum ding, Kakitumteng, kamite kitihot puma lhumlam-a kona hung kile diu ahi.
They will follow after the Lord. Like a lion he will roar, and when he roars his children will come trembling from the west.
11 Vacha honte banga amaho Egype gamma kona hung diu ahi. Vapalte banga, ti-kiling dingu, amaho Assyria gam'a kona hung kinung lediu ahi. Chule keiman inpia kapui lutkit dingu ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
They will come trembling like the birds from Egypt, like doves from the land of Assyria. And I will bring them back to their houses, – declares the Lord.
12 Israel in jou le nalin ei umkimvelin Ahinlah Judah in Pathen thusei angai nalaiyuvin chule amaho Athengpa dinga tahsan umtah ahiuve.
Ephraim has encompassed me with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit. But Judah still wanders with God faithful to the Holy One.
