1 Hiche achun leiset chunga mihem ahung pung pan tan ahile alah uva chanu jong tampi ahing tauve.
When people began to become very numerous all over the earth, and many daughters were born to them,
2 Chuin Pathen chapate chun numei hoitah ho chu amu uvin ama hon adei thei lheh jeng uvin, hijeh chun adei dei akilhen uvin ajinu ding in akipui tauvin ahi.
some of the men who (belonged to/believed in) God saw that some of the women who did not (belong to/believe in) God were very beautiful. So they took whichever ones they chose to become their wives.
3 Hichun Pathen in aseiye, “Ka lhagao mihem sunga atonsot kumkho in chengden thei deh ponte, ajeh chu ama tahsaphe bou ahin, ahin nikho jong kum jakhat le kum somni bou hiding ahiye,” ati.
Then Yahweh said, “[I will] not [allow] my Spirit to keep people alive forever (OR, the breath of life will not remain in people forever). They will die eventually. They will live not more than 120 years before they die (OR, there will be only 120 more years before they die).”
4 Hiche lai chun leiset chunga Nephilim miho ana um uvin, chujong le Pathen chapate mihem Chanute henga ahunglut nung'u chun amahon jong cha ahin peh tauve; hiche ho chu khanglui laiya mihat te ana hiuvin, chule mi minthang ho chu ana hiuvin ahi.
There were [giants called] Nephils who lived on the earth at that time and later. During that time [some of the Nephil] men who (belonged to/believed in) God had sex [EUP] with women who did not (belong to/believe in) God, and they gave birth to children. The Nephils were considered to be heroic fighters, and they became famous.
5 Pathen in leiset chunga mihem ho setna chu akhol chen jing in, chule Pathen in mihem ho thil phalou agel'u ahi loule lungthima ase abolnom ho'u chu aboncha aphalou jeng ahi chu amu doh tai.
Yahweh saw that people on the earth had become very wicked, and that everything they thought about evil things continually.
6 Hichun Pakai Pathenin mihem asem'a leiset chung'a aumsah hatah in akisih tai.
Yahweh was sorry that he had made people.
7 Hichun Pathen in aseiye, “Keiman kasem doh mihem hohi leiset chunga kon'a kasuh mang ding ahitai, mihem jouse alen aneo, gancha alen aneo tolgo chunga lamjot thei jouse chule chunglam a leng vachate ahi uvin, ajeh chu hicheng pi kana semdoh hi ka kisih lheh tai,” ati.
So he said, “I will completely destroy the people I made. I will also destroy all the animals and the creatures that scurry across the ground and the birds. None of them will remain on the earth, because I regret that I made them.”
8 Hinlah Noah chun Pathen lungdei lam in aum jing in ahi.
But Yahweh was pleased with Noah.
9 Hiche hi Noah le a insung mite umchan thusim ahiye, Noah chu mi chonpha, hiche khanglai'a chu leichung'a mona neilou va um chu Noah bou anahi, chule Noah chu Pathen toh ki lhakang louhel le Pathen toh kihou mat jing mi ahi.
This is why: Noah was a man who always acted in a righteous way. No one who lived at that time could criticize him about anything. Noah lived in close fellowship with God.
10 Noah chun chate thum aneiyin amaho chu ahi le Shem, Ham, chule Japheth ahi uve.
Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11 Hichun Pathen in leiset chung ahinven ahile mihem ho phatlou na le kitahlou jeng amudoh tan ahi.
At that time God considered that everyone else on earth was very wicked, and everywhere on the earth, people [MTY] were acting cruelly and violently toward each other.
12 Pathen in jong thilpha lou jouse le thudih louva vannoi pumpia mihemte khat cheh a jong asetnao chu amudoh sohhel tai.
God was dismayed when he saw how evil people [MTY] were, because everyone (OR, all living creatures) had begun to behave in an evil way.
13 Hichun Pathen in Noah jah'a aseiyin, “Keiman tua hi hinna neiya avahle thei jouse ka suhmang ding ahi tai. Ajeh chu amaho jeh hin leiset chunga pumhat'a kino na jeng adim tan ahi, vetan kei man abonchauva leiset toh ka suhmang tha ding ahi tauve.
So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy everyone, because all over the earth people are acting violently toward each other. So I am about to get rid of them as well as everything else on the earth.
14 Nangman Gopher thingin kong innei lentah khat kisem in lang, kong innei sunga chun indan adan adan in khah tanin, chuteng asung le apo twilut na thei lai jouse na huhbing sohkei ding ahi.
[I want you to] make for yourself a large boat from cypress wood. Make rooms inside it. Cover the outside and the inside with tar [to make it (waterproof/so that water cannot get in and sink the boat]).
15 Hiche kong chu tong jali le somnga sao hiding, chule asan dan chu tong somsagi le nga a sang hiding, chule avai lam chu tong somli le nga a len hiding ahi.
This is the size you must make it: It shall be (150 yards/135 meters) long, (25 yards/22.5 meters) wide, and (15 yards/13.5 meters) high.
16 Kong innei chu bangkot hong inlang achunglam chu khap somle get in sem inlang kong abanga kotpi hong in lang, indan noi nung danni lhinna, chule dan thum lhinna geiya nasem ding ahi.
Make a roof for the boat. Leave a space of about (18 in./.5 meter) between the sides and the roof to let air and light enter (OR, the middle of the roof should be 18 inches higher than the sides). Build the boat with three decks inside, and put a door in one side.
17 Tun ven kei man leichung jouse hi twisanglen a ka chupsah ding, hichu ganhing ahai thei jouse ahinkho kalah mang ding ahitai. Chule leichung'a umjouse ka suhmang ding ahi.
Listen carefully! I am about to cause a flood to occur that will destroy every creature that lives beneath the sky. Everything on the earth will die.
18 Hinlah keiman nangma toh kitep na khat nei ing kating, chujou teng le kongsunga nang nahin, na chapate ahi uvin, najinu chule namou tetoh nabon chauva kong sunga lut tauvin,
But I will make an agreement with you(sg): You and your wife, your sons and their wives will enter the boat.
19 Chule tahsa neiya hing gamsa namkim anu khat le apa khat cheh in kongsunga hin puilut un, ajeh chu twisang hatah ahung let teng na hinso jou thei nadiu ahi.
And I want to save some of all kinds of creatures. So you must also bring two of all living creatures, a male and a female, into the boat with you, so that their species also may remain alive.
20 Vacha ho akop toni, gancha ho lah a jong ama ama jat dung juiya, tol'a aop'a kithol tho lah a jong ama ama jat dung jui cheh a anu khat le achal khat cheh navah hing dinga nahenga hung kitol lut ding ahi uve.
Two of every kind of creature will come to [in order that by your putting them in the boat] you will keep them alive. They will include two of each kind of bird and each kind of animal and each kind of creature that scurries across the ground.
21 Chule nasuhmil theilou ding chu kong sunga naneh dingu an naneh diu ninglhingset a naki pohlut diu nakikhol khom diu ahi, Ajeh chu hiche an neh dingho chu nangho le gancha hon ding ahi,” ati.
You must also take some of every kind of food that you and all these animals will need, and store it in the boat.”
22 Hichun Noah in jong Pathen in asei peh bang bang in abolpan tan ahi.
So Noah did everything that God told him to do.
