1 Chujouvin Adam le Eve akitimat lhon in ahile Eve'in nao ahin vopin Cain chu ahung peng tai, hiche'a chun amanu'n hitin aseiye, Pathen phatthei bohna jal in cha pasal khat kanei tai ati.
Now, the man, having come to know Eve his wife, —she conceived and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a Man, even Yahweh!
2 Phat chomkhat jou chun Eve chun chapa Abel ahing kit tai, hichun khonung in chapang teni chu ahung khanglen lhon tan, Abel chu kelngoi ching in ahung pang in, Cain vang chu loubol mi ahung hi tan ahi.
And she went on to bear his brother, Abel, —and Abel became a feeder of sheep, whereas Cain, was a tiller of the round.
3 Phat phabep jouvin Cain in alousohga alhun phat in alousohga phabep ahin pon Pathen ading in kilhaina ahung sem tai.
So it came to pass, after certain days, that Cain brought in of the fruit of the ground, a present to Yahweh:
4 Hitobang ma chun Abel in jong akelngoi lah'a apeng masa athao pen tah khat chu Pathen ading in ahin pedoh tai, Hichun Pathen in Abel lam joh aven athilto jong kipahtah in asanpeh tai.
Abel, also, even, he, brought in of the firstlings of his sheep, and of their fat, and Yahweh approved of Abel and of his present;
5 Hinlah Pathen in Cain thilto maicham chu asanpeh tapoi, hijeh chun Cain chu hatah in alunghang in akaiku jeng in ahi.
but of Cain and his present, he approved not, —and it angered Cain greatly, and his countenance fell.
6 Hihe phat chun Pathen in Cain jah a, “Ibola nangle nang kilunghan nahi ham? chule ibola namai thim jeng a ham?
So then Yahweh said unto Cain, —Wherefore hath it angered thee, and wherefore hath thy countenance fallen?
7 Thilpha bol dinga kilomho chu nabol le na kisan pehda ding ham? Ahin thilpha boldinga kilomho chu na bolnom loule kichih theiyin chonsetnan naval lhum ding ahitai. Hiche hohi na chinpha ding joh ahi,” ati.
Shall it not, if thou do right, be lifted up? But if thou do not right, at the entrance a sin-bearer is lying, —Unto thee, moreover, shall be his longing, though, thou, rule over him.
8 Nikhat chu Cain in asopipa Abel jah'a “Eini thinglhang lam'a che hite atin, gamlang agei lhon phat in Cain chu asopipa Abel chunga achun athat tai.”
And Cain said unto Abel his brother Let us go into the field And it came to pass when they were in the field that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 Phat chomkhat jouvin, Pakai Pathen in Cain jah a, “Nasopipa Abel hoiya um hitam?” atile Cain'in jong adonbut in, “Kahe poi, Keima hi ka sopi pa Abel ching tup ka him?” ati.
Then said Yahweh unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said I know not, the keeper of my brother, am, I?
10 Hichun Pathen in jong Cain jah'a “Ipi nabol hitam? Na sopi pa Abel thisan chu tol'a kon'in keima angsung gei in ahung peng in ahi.
And he said, What hast thou done? With a voice, the shed-blood of thy brother is crying out to me from the ground,
11 Hijeh chun tua patna nangma hi leiset chunga sapset na noija uma na hitai, na sopi pa Abel thisan in na chup ahitai.
Now therefore, accursed, art thou, —from the ground which hath opened her mouth, to receive the shed-blood of thy brother at thy hand.
12 Leiset a kona nangma dinga ga imacha pung ding ahi tapoi, itobang in natong jong leh chun nangman leiseta in mun neilou gamvah mangpa na kiti ding ahi.”
Though thou till the ground, it shall not go on to give its vigour to thee. A wanderer and a fugitive, shalt thou be in the earth.
13 Chuphat in Cain chun Pathen henga aseiye, “Keima gotna kachan hi kei thoh jou hoi ahi poi.
And Cain said unto Yahweh—Greater is my punishment than I can bear.
14 Vetan tunin nangma akon in neidel mangtai, nang in leichunga umna neilou neihi sahtai, tua pat'a hi koihijongle eitoh khapen pen chun eitha ding ahi tai.”
Lo! thou has driven me out, this day, from off the face of the ground And from thy face, shall I be hid, So shall I become a wanderer and a fugitive in the earth. And it shall come to pass, whosoever findeth me, will slay me.
15 Pathen in adonbut in, “Ahipoi koi tobang nangma hinkho sumang dinga kigo a aumle keiman ama chunga sagi vei ka phulah ding ahi.” Hichea chun Pathen in Cain chu koiman atha louna ding in Cain chunga melchihna khat akoipeh in ahi.
And Yahweh said to him—Not so, whosoever slayeth Cain seven—fold, shall it be avenged. So Yahweh set, for Cain, a sign, that none finding him should smite him.
16 Hichea kon chun Cain in Pathen kom adalhan Eden niso lam a Nod muna chun acheng tai.
So Cain went forth from the presence of Yahweh, —and dwelt in the land of Nod, eastward of Eden.
17 Cain chun ajinu aki timatpin ahile nao ahin vop kit tan hiche nao chu Enoch ahi. Chuin Cain in phat phabep jouvin khopi khat ahinsem dohin, achapa min aput sah in hiche khopi min chu Enoch asah tai.
And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived, and bare Enoch, —Now it happened that he was building a city, so he called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
18 Enoch in chapa Irad ahing in, Irad chun Mehujael ahing in, Mehujael chun Methushael ahing in, Methushael chun Lamech ahing'e.
And there was born to Enoch Irad, and, Irad, begat Mehujael, —and Mehujael, begat Methusael, —and Methusael, begat Lamech.
19 Lamech chun ji numei ni anei jin amasa nu chu ahile Adah ahin chule anina nu chu Zillah ahiye.
And Lamech took to himself two wives, —the name of the one, was Adah, and, the name of the second Zillah.
20 Adah in Jabal ahing in, amahi ahiye, khoilupon in a chenga gancha chingho ding'a apau chu.
And Adah bare Jabal, —he, was father of such as dwell in tents, and have cattle;
21 Chule asopi pa min chu Jubal ahin, ama chu lathem gosem mut them masa pen ahiye.
and, the name of his brother, was Jubal, —he, was father of everyone handling lyre and flute,
22 Zillah jong chun Tubal-cain ahing in, ama chun manchah ding abonchan sum-eng jong thih jong ahin kheng'e. Chule Tubal-cain chun sopi numei khat anei jin amin Naamah ahi.
And, as for Zillah, she also, bare Tubal-Cain, a sharpener of every cutting instrument of bronze and iron, —and, the sister of Tubal-Cain, was Naamah.
23 Chujou vin nikhat chu Lamech chun ajite ni jaha hitin a seiye, “Vo Adah le Zillah ka aw kasei ngai lhon in, ‘Ajeh chu pasal khat in eimavo jeh in ka that'in golhang khat'in eiden jeh-in ka that tai.
Then said Lamech to his wives, Adah and Zillah! hear ye my voice, Ye wives of Lamech! give ear to my tale, For a man, have I slain in dealing my wounds, Yea, a youth, in smiting my blows:
24 Koi tabang mikhat in Cain chu atha le sagi vei gotna chang ding ahile keima hinkho lading koi tobang aumle som sagi vei gotna chang ding joh ahiye.”
If, sevenfold, be, the avenging of Cain, Then, of Lamech, seventy and seven.
25 Chuin Adam chun ajinu akitimat pikit in ahile amanun chapa khat ahing kit in, amin Seth asah tai; ijeh inem itile amanun hitin aseiye, “Pathen in chapa eipeh kit hi Abel khel a ei kipe ah ahi, ajeh chu Cain thapa khel ding in eipe tai,” ati.
And Adam again knew his wife, and she bare a son, and called his name Seth, —For God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain slew him!
26 Seth chu mipi lhing ahung hiphat in chapa khat aneiyin amin Enosh asah-e. Hiche apat chun mipi hon Pathen chu amin pan in ahou pan tauvin ahi.
And to Seth—to him also, was born a son, and he called his name Enosh, —then, was a beginning made, to call on the name of Yahweh.
