1 Jacob in Laban chapate ama chung'a alung damlou'u thu aja tan ama hon aseiyun, “Jacob in ipau thil jouse akilah tan, chule anei agou athil keu jouse khu ipauva konna akilam doh ahi,” ati tauve.
And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that [was] our father’s; and of [that] which [was] our father’s hath he gotten all this glory.
2 Chujong le Jacob in Laban maiso aven ahile alung lhailou lungthim chom agel jong ahe chen tan ahi.
And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it [was] not toward him as before.
3 Hichun Pathen in Jacob chu ahoulimpin, “Nangma ki nungle kit tan, napu napa chule na sopite chenna gam'a kei man ka umpi jing ding nahi,” ati.
And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.
4 Hichun Jacob in mi asol in loulam a akelngoi chin nauva Rachel le Leah aga kou sah tan ahi.
And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,
5 Chuin Jacob in hitin aseiye, “Keiman ka hechen tai, napa lhon maiso kavet le lungthim chom chom aneitai, masang tobang ahi tapoi, hijong le kapu ka pate Pathen in ei umpi jingnai.
And said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it [is] not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
6 Nangnin jong nahe lhon nai, katha nei sun kajo chan a napa lhon ding na toh ka tonge.
And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.
7 Hinlah aman eijou lhep tan, kanatoh man jong somvei tobang eikhel pehtai, amavang Pathen in keima chunga vang thil phalou imacha alhunsah pon ahi.
And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
8 Aman hitin aseiye, gancha apol ho jouse chu nangma nikho tha man hitante atile gancha ho chu apol jeng ahe hatah in ahung pung tul tul kit tan, hichun aman alunggel akhel kit in gancha availang jenga pol ho atikit leh gancha anou jouse chu adung le avai langa pol bou apeng kit tai.
If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked.
9 Hitia hi Pa Pathen in napa gancha ho jouse alah a keima eipehsoh ahitai.
Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given [them] to me.
10 Chuin phat chomkhat jou kelngoite kijang mat lai in jan mang khat ka neiyin, ka khodah in ahile kelpi chunga kal doh kelchal ho chu apol hole adup ho aki timat piu ka mui.
And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle [were] ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.
11 Chuin hitia mang kanei petin Pakai vantil khat in eihin houpin Jacob eihin tin kenjong “Hoijo hikoma kaum e,” kati.
And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, [saying], Jacob: And I said, Here [am] I.
12 Chuin Pakai vantil chun dah inlang gahve temin, kelpi ho chunga kal doh kelchal ho khu apol, adup, akangpol, availanga pol jeng in amat e, Ijeh inem itile Laban in na bolsetna jouse keiman abonchan ka musoh keitai.
And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle [are] ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.
13 Keima na Pathen Bethel, muna song khom thao nanu a na kigah na Pathen chu kahi, tun kipat doh in hiche gam hi dalhan lang na penna gam langa kile kit tan.
I [am] the God of Beth-el, where thou anointedst the pillar, [and] where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.

And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, [Is there] yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?

Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money.

For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that [is] ours, and our children’s: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
17 Hichun Jacob akipat doh in ajite le achate jouse chu Sangan chunga atoudoh sah soh kei tan;
Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;
18 Chule agancha ho jouse amasang lamuva ahoiyin Padan-Ram gam'a anei agou jouse aki suhtup in Canaan gam'a apa Isaac henga che dingin aumtai.
And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padan-aram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.
19 Chuin Laban chu kelngoi mulvou dinga akon doh phat'in Rachel in apa insung semthu pathen chu ana kiguh mang tai.
And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that [were] her father’s.
20 Jacob'in jong Laban Syrian mipa chu alhem lhan in, ajam doh dingu jong aseipeh pon ahi.
And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.
21 Hichun Jacob in anei agou jouse akipoh in Eupharate vadung apal galkai in Gilead thing lhang lam ahin jontai.
So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face [toward] the mount Gilead.
22 Ahin ni thum jouvin Jacob ajam mang tai tithu chu Laban ahin seipeh un;
And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
23 Chuin Laban in asopi ho cheng akou khom in, Jacob chu ahin nung del tauvin ahile, nisagi lhin ni chun Gilead lhang gamsunga ahin juilut tan ahi.
And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.
24 Hinlah Pathen in Laban Syrean mipa chu jan in ana kimu pin hitin aseiye, “Kichih thei jin Jacob chu imacha nalo theilou ding ahi,” ati.
And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
25 Hichun Laban'in Jacob chu ahin phatan, chule Jacob in thing-lhang lah a chun apon buh akison tauvin, chuin Laban le a U anaoten jong Gelead thinglhang a Jacob to kigam lhat louvin aponbuh'u akison tauve.
Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.
26 Chuin Laban in Jacob jah'a aseiye, “Ibola hi tobanga hi neijou lhep hitam ati, chule iti dana ka chanu teni jong gal a sohchang ho banga na bol jeng ham?
And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives [taken] with the sword?
27 Ibola guhthim cha a najam mang uham? Ibol'a neijou lhep ham ati, chule nache ding iti dan a neihet sah lou beh ham? Neina hetsah le chun thupitah a kilhahna ankong le la a ngei tah tah kisan tin, tumging to kithoa kivai lhah ta dinga ati.
Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
28 Nathil bol hohi ngolna in na dimset'e, ka chanu teni cha katute jong kabeng chop man tapon, kilhahna jong kana bol thei tapoi! ati.
And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in [so] doing.
29 Tua hi nangma ka suhbei thei nahi, Hinlah napu napate Pathen in jan hi nilhah in eina kimuto pin gihna jong eineiyin Jacob chu na suhboi theilou ding ahi eiti!
It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
30 Nangma lunggel na in lam a nache ding na thanop na chu ka hethem lheh'e, kham thei jong na hipoi, napa insung miho toh kimu to kal nanga lel jong kahe nai, Hinlah ibola ka Pathen houna doiphung chu naguh ham? ati.
And now, [though] thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father’s house, [yet] wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?
31 Jacob in adonbut in, “Keiman nangma kana ging lheh in ahi, ajeh chu nang ma in, nachanu teho chu namphu a nei lah peh ding ham tia kana gel ahi.
And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.
32 Amavang nadoi bom vang chu ahile nang man hol in lang namu doh thei leh namu na michu koi hile ahinkho subei jeng tan ati, chule nangma thil ho jong keima sopiho in anala kha aumle kanung peh ding nahi; Jacob in vang Rachel in analah chu anahet lou ahi.
With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what [is] thine with me, and take [it] to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
33 Laban chu Jacob ponbuh a ache masa pen in doibom hol in, aban'in Leah kom ah, hiche jou chun Leah soh teni komah achen Hinlah imacha amudoh pon, achaina in Rachel pon buh a alut in ahi.
And Laban went into Jacob’s tent, and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’ tents; but he found [them] not. Then went he out of Leah’s tent, and entered into Rachel’s tent.
34 Rachel in apa insung doibom chu ana ladoh in Sangan pho kah a chu ana sel'a chule achunga chu ama ana tou ahi, hichun Laban in ponbuh sung aning akah aphet vang'in imacha amudoh tapon ahi.
Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel’s furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found [them] not.
35 Ama nun apa komma asei tai, “Lungsettah in nei ngaidam in ka Pakai keima numei hina lhinna kanei jin kadin theilou ding ahi,” Laban vang ahol chu atang dehpon amavang insung doibom chu amudoh pon ahi.
And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women [is] upon me. And he searched, but found not the images.
36 Hichun Jacob hatah in ahung lunghang tan Laban apupa jah'a asei tan ahi, “Keima ipi ka guchat na ka jonna umham atitan, chule ipi mong kabol khel a hichan geiya hi ka nung neihin del a keima migucha banga nei bol hitam?
And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What [is] my trespass? what [is] my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?
37 Nang man kanei kathil koina jouse naphet in aning akah geiyin, twin neivet sah in ipi na khol doh ham nang thil, hinpo doh in sopi ule nao ho masang laitah ahin amahon eini kah lah a thutanna neimaiyu hen ati.
Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set [it] here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.
38 Nangma koma kum som ni na gancha ho kana vettup peh in, na gancha ho kelngoi ahin na kelcha ho ahin imacha boina ana umpon hiche kum hijat kana vettup sunga chun kelngoi khat jong kana kilah khapoi.
This twenty years [have] I [been] with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
39 Keiman gamsa in, gancha ho athasa jong kahin polut khapon, athi amang ho jong keima nikho tha to suhto din kana boljin, gancha ho sun hileh jan hileh amang ho jouse chu keima lhalo toh suhto din neikah pehjin ahi.
That which was torn [of beasts] I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, [whether] stolen by day, or stolen by night.
40 Hiche hi keima dinmun ana hi, Hitipi chun sun teng nisan eihal vampai gon, jan tengle dap kathoh jin, kamit tenin la kei eimut na him him amupha pon ahi.
[Thus] I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.
41 Hitobang achu kum somni nangma insunga kana kiman chah ahi. keiman kum som le kum li nangma insunga lhacha in ka na pang in, na chanu teni lona in kum gup ka na tohbe in gancha ho lona in chule kana toh man somvei tobang neikhel peh in ahi.
Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
42 Kapate Pathen, Abraham Pathen, kapa Isaac ginpa chun eipanpi lou hile tua hi nangman khut keohel tah bah a neina solmang ding ahitai. Pathen in ka gentheina le kakhut tah a katoh gimna hi amua jan nilhah a chu na gihsal ahiye,” ati.
Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked [thee] yesternight.
43 Hichun Laban in hitin Jacob adonbut in, “Hiche numei hohi ka chanu ahin, hiche chapang hojong kachate katute ahi, chule gancha ho jouse jong abonna keima gancha ahi. Chule ipi hitale namu phah chan hi aboncha keiya jeng ahi cheh nai. Amavang keiman tua hi ka chanute chule achate ho chunga ipi kabol ding hitam ati.
And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, [These] daughters [are] my daughters, and [these] children [are] my children, and [these] cattle [are] my cattle, and all that thou seest [is] mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?
44 Hijeh chun hung in eini kikah a kitepna nei hite hichun eini eikan khom cheh lhon ding ahi.”
Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
45 Hichun Jacob'in hetjing nading in song khom khat aphut dohtai.
And Jacob took a stone, and set it up [for] a pillar.
46 Hichun Jacob'in asopi ho lah a aseiyin, “Songho hin chom khom un,” ati, amahon song chu khat chunga khat asethop un, hichun Jacob le Laban song kise thop komma atou lhon in kitepna ankong chu anekhom lhon tan ahi.
And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.
47 Songlhuh kise chu Laban in Jegar-sahadutha asah-in, hiche ma ma chu Jacob'in Galeed asah-e.
And Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.
48 Hichun Laban in, “Tuni nikhoa hiche song lhuh hi kei le nang kah a sakhia panga ahi tai,” tia, hiche jeh chun amin jong Galeed asah in ahi.
And Laban said, This heap [is] a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;
49 Hiche mun jong hi Mizpah akiti tai, aman aseiyin, “Ajeh chu nangma le keima jong khonung teng jong leh gamla tah a umjongleh hen Pathen in ei umpi jing lhon hen.”
And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.
50 Ka chanute ho nahin suh genthei ja numei dang ho jia nahin kipuiya ahile, koima chan muhih jongle abonchan Pathen in amusoh keiye, Pathen hi nangle kei kikah a kitepna a hiche thua hi pang jing ding ahi.
If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take [other] wives beside my daughters, no man [is] with us; see, God [is] witness betwixt me and thee.
51 Hiche song athopma kise ho hi Jacob in Laban jah ah, “Vejing in kei le nang kah a kihet themna hijing ding ahi tai.
And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold [this] pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee;
52 Hiche song kise thop hile songphu hi sakhia a pang ahin, ken jong nangma suse dinga hiche hi kahin khokhel lou hel ding, nang in jong keima suse dinga hiche hi nahin khokhel louhel ding ahi.
This heap [be] witness, and [this] pillar [be] witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.
53 Abraham Pathen, Nahor Pathen chule amani pa-Pathen chu eini kah a thutan ding ahi tai,” ati. Hijeh chun Jacob jong apa Isaac ginpa min akihahsel tai.
The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.
54 Hichun Jacob in hiche molchunga chun Pathen henga maicham asem in kitepna ki hetthem na ankong jong asem in, an neh anei jou u-chun hiche jan machun molchunga chun ageh tauve.
Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.
55 Laban ajing chun matah in athoudoh in achanute ho le atute ho jouse abonchan achop soh keiyin, chule abonchauvin phatthei aboh soh keiyin, hichun ama a inlam ma aki nungle kit tai.
And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.
