1 Mamre munna gangpi phung komma chun Pakai chu Abraham henga ahung kilah in ahi. Nikhat hi nichangsat pettah hin Abraham chu aponbuh maiya ana touvin ahi.
And Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he sat at the tent-door in the heat of the day.
2 Ama ahung dahdoh in ahile akomma mithum ana din amun ahi. Amaho chu amu phat in ama alhai jel in amaho lemnan tol ah abohkhup in ahi.
And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, three men standing near him. And when he saw [them], he ran to meet them from the tent-door, and bowed himself to the earth,
3 Chuin Abraham'in “Ka Pakai,” tin adonbut in, “Nanghon pha nasah uleh phat chomkhat naki ngah thei diu ham.
and said, Lord, if now I have found favour in thine eyes, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant.
4 Nakeng sil na ding'u kahin choi kah in hiche thing limnoiya hin ana kicholdo ta diu vin.
Let now a little water be fetched, that ye may wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.
And I will fetch a morsel of bread; and refresh yourselves; after that ye shall pass on; for therefore have ye passed on towards your servant. And they said, So do as thou hast said.
6 Hichun Abraham chu apon buh kom langa alhai jel'in Sarah kom ah asei tan ahi, “Kinloi tah in changbong ate na dimthum tedoh in lang twi to mehnang in, chule changlhah hin keng loi tem in,” aga tin ahi.
And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, Knead quickly three seahs of wheaten flour, and make cakes.
7 Hichun Abraham'in gancha ho kivah na lang ajon in bongnou athao pen asohte ho apen, gangtah in ahin hon sah in ahi.
And Abraham ran to the herd, and took a calf tender and good, and gave [it] to the attendant; and he hasted to dress it.
8 An neh ding ho amin phat in Abraham'in bongnoi ha le bongnoi toh chule bongnou sa ahon u-chu amaho angsung ah aneh diuvin aga lui peh in amaho anneh laisen ama jong thinglim a chun ading jinge.
And he took thick and sweet milk, and the calf that he had dressed, and set [it] before them; and he stood before them under the tree, and they ate.
9 Chuin ama hon Abraham jah'a “Na loinu Sarah hoilam a um aham?” atiu leh Abraham'in ponbuh sunga aum nai ati.
And they said to him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.
10 Chuin amaho lah a khat chun aseiyin, “Keima hi khovei tulai phat mama le kahung ki nungle kit ding ahi, vetan hiche phatteng chule na inneipi Sarah khun chapa khat ana hin ding ahi,” ati chu anunga ponbuh sunglam a um Sarah chun angai lhin ahi.
And he said, I will certainly return to thee at [this] time of the year, and behold, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah was listening at the tent-door, which was behind him.
11 Abraham le Sarah chu atahsa kum lhon chu atam gel lhon tan, chule Sarah jong nao nei phat kum akhel ahi tai.
Now Abraham and Sarah were old [and] advanced in age: it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
12 Hichun Sarah guhthim in ama le ama aki nuisat in hitin aseiye, “Iti hithei ding ham, kei tobang aching sa numeiyin kipana thilpha kamu ding ham, ka jipa jeng jong akum atam lheh tai,” ati.
And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am become old, shall I have pleasure, and my lord old?
13 Pathen in Abraham jah achun aseiye, “Ipi dinga Sarah khu nuiya ka teh nunga keiman cha kanei tahbeh mong ding hi nam,” ati ham?
And Jehovah said to Abraham, Why is this, that Sarah laughs, saying, Shall I indeed bear, when I am become old?
14 Pakai Pathen ading'a ipi ahahsa umham? keima khovei tulai phat na kahung kit ding chule Sarah in cha pasal khat anei ding ahi.”
Is [any] matter too wonderful for Jehovah? At the time appointed I will return to thee, at [this] time of the year, and Sarah shall have a son.
15 Chuphat in Sarah chu atija tan hichun Sarah in aseilep tan, “Keima ka nuipoi” atin ahin la, “Pathen in adonbut in nangma na nui nai,” ati.
And Sarah denied, saying, I did not laugh; for she was afraid. And he said, No; but thou didst laugh.
16 Hichun pasal thum hochu an aneh jou un ading doh un Sodom lang chu galdot un, ama hon adalha uvin, Abraham chu amaho thah doh ding tin lampi gei aga kilhonpin ahi.
And the men rose up thence, and looked toward Sodom; and Abraham went with them to conduct them.
17 Pathen chun aseiye, “Keiman katoh gon hohi Abraham kom a kasei lou ding ham?” ati.
And Jehovah said, Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing?
18 Ajeh chu Abraham chu len tah le nam hattah chule vannoi ja nam jouse Abraham jeh a phatthei chang ding ahi ngal'in,
Since Abraham shall indeed become a great and mighty nation; and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him.
19 Chule achapate le ama ban a ainsung mi aman thu apeh a, chutia chu adih abol theiyu va, thu adih a atan thei na dinguva Pakai lampi ajui thei uva, chuteng le Pakaiyin Abraham chung chang'a akitep nasa chu ahin molso theina dinga ama hi kilheng doh ahiti la ka henan,” ati.
For I know him that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice, in order that Jehovah may bring upon Abraham what he hath spoken of him.
20 Hichun Pathen in Abraham ahoulimpi in “Sodom le Gomorrah douna thu kisei asangval tan chule achonset nau jong ase val tai,” ati.
And Jehovah said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grievous,
21 Keima che suh ing kating ka henga thu hung kisei dungjuiya hi abol cheh'u ham, ahilou ham gapho chen inge,” ati.
I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come to me; and if not, I will know [it].
22 Hichun miho chu chukom akon in aki heiyun Sodom lang chu ajon un ache tauve, ahin lah Abraham chu Pakai masanga chun ading chah den jing in ahi.
And the men turned thence, and went towards Sodom; and Abraham remained yet standing before Jehovah.
23 Abraham'in Pathen chu anailut in hitin aseiye, “Nangman michonpha atheng chule mi phalou agilouho aboncha nasuh mang tha ding ham,” ati.
And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also cause the righteous to perish with the wicked?
24 Ijem tin khopi sunga chun michonpha som nga bang um ta le, asunga michonpha som nga ho jal'a jong chu akhomun chu khen dehlou hela nasuh mang jeng ding ham?
There are perhaps fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not forgive the place for the sake of the fifty righteous that are therein?
25 Nang dinga hitobang thil nabol a, michonpha le migilou agoma natha cheh a, michonpha le migilou akibah ding chu bolda hel jengle chun kati! Leiset thutan pan adih a atan lou ding ham?” atile.
Far be it from thee to do so, to slay the righteous with the wicked, that the righteous should be as the wicked — far be it from thee! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?
26 Hichun Pathen'in adonbut in, “keiman mi somnga thudih thilpha bol Sodom khopi a kamu doh theile, amaho jal'a chu khopi kahuhdoh ding ahi.”
And Jehovah said, If I find at Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will forgive all the place for their sakes.
27 Hichun Abraham'in asei kit in, “Ka Pakai nangman neiphal peh thei dingle kasei ban ho kajom nom in keima vang bohse vutvai tobang kahin,
And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have ventured to speak unto the Lord; I, who am dust and ashes.
28 Ijem tin mi somli le nga tobang chonpha mitheng mi som nga sanga lhomjo namu le amaho jeh'a chu khopi hi nasuh mang ding ham, mi nga lhahsam jeh chun, Pathenin adonbut in, Keiman hiche khopi a hi mi som li le nga kamu doh jouva ahile sumang ponge,” ati.
Perhaps there may want five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city on account of the five? And he said, If I shall find forty-five there, I will not destroy [it].
29 Hichun Abraham'in adeichat angaichat avel in aseiyin, “Ijem tin mi som li bou umta le,” atin chuin Pakaiyin ahoulimpi kit in, “Keiman amaho mi somli jeh a chu kasuh manglou hel ding ahi,” ati.
And he continued yet to speak with him, and said, Perhaps there may be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for the forty's sake.
30 Ka Pakai lungset tah in lung hanglou jenin, Abraham atao kit leovin, neiphal peh theile chun kasei nom na laiye, Ijemtin mi som thum muta le chun,” atile Pakai Pathen in ahoulimpi in “Keiman mi somthum hijong le ka suhmang lou ding ahi,” ati.
And he said, Oh, let not the Lord be angry that I speak! Perhaps there may be thirty found there. And he said, I will not do it if I find thirty there.
31 Hichun Abraham'in aseikit in, “Nangman neiphal peh theile ka thusei hi ka jom nome, Ijem tin mi som ni hi jongle atile,” Pakaiyin adonbut in, “Mi somni kamu jongle ka suhmang lou ding ahi,” ati.
And he said, Behold now, I have ventured to speak with the Lord. Perhaps there may be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy [it] for the twenty's sake.
32 Abraham'in achaina in asei peh tan, “Ka Pakai Pathen nei lung han hih beh in lang, khatvei neisei sah kit le tia katao ahi, mi som muta le chun” hichun Pathen in aseiye, “Mi som kamu doh jongle kasuh manglou ding ahi,” ati.
And he said, Oh, let not the Lord be angry, that I speak yet but this time! Perhaps there may be ten found there. And he said, I will not destroy [it] for the ten's sake.
33 Hichun Abraham henga athusei dingin aboncha aseisoh phat'in Pakai chu ache tai; Abraham vang chu a in mun lam a ahung kile kit tai.
And Jehovah went away when he had ended speaking to Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.
