1 Tun Abram jinu Sarai chun cha anei thei tapon ahin lah Sarai chun Egypt mi soh numei khat ana neiyin amanu chu Hagar ahi.
And Sarai, Abram’s wife, has not borne to him, and she has a handmaid, an Egyptian, and her name [is] Hagar;
2 Chuin Sarai'in jong Abram jah a aseiye, “Ven Pakaiyin keila cha eihin sah tapon, lungset tah in ka sohnu koma ga lut tan; ijem itile amanua kona khu ka inchen dohsah thei nahi,” atile, Abram in jong Sarai thu angai tai.
and Sarai says to Abram, “Now behold, YHWH has restrained me from bearing, please go in to my handmaid; perhaps I am built up from her”; and Abram listens to the voice of Sarai.
3 Hichun Sarai Abram in-neipin Hagar chu apuiyin Abram ji din apetai, hiche phat laitah chu ahile Abram kum som Canaan na achen jou don ahi tai.
And Sarai, Abram’s wife, takes Hagar the Egyptian, her handmaid, at the end of the tenth year of Abram’s dwelling in the land of Canaan, and gives her to her husband Abram—to him for a wife,
4 Hichun Abram toh Hagar chu akitimat lhon tan, chuin Hagar chun nao ahin vop tan hichun apinu Sarai chu noise tah in ahin vepan tan ahi.
and he goes in to Hagar, and she conceives, and she sees that she has conceived, and her mistress is lightly esteemed in her eyes.
5 Hijeh chun Sarai in Abram jaha aseitai, “Hiche ho jouse hi nang suhkhel ahi, ka sohnu hi nangma dannoiya ka koi ahin, Hinlah tuhin amanun nao avop tan keima noise tahin eive tan hijeh chun keile nang kah a Pakai thutan in hung pang jeng hen!” atitai.
And Sarai says to Abram, “My violence [is] for you; I have given my handmaid into your bosom, and she sees that she has conceived, and I am lightly esteemed in her eyes; YHWH judges between me and you.”
6 Abram'in adonbut in “Ven amanu khu nasoh hilou ham, nangman pha nasah dungjuiyin bol tang em?” ati. Hichun Sarai in Hagar hatah in ahin sugenthei pantan hichun amanun (Hagar) ajamsan tai.
And Abram says to Sarai, “Behold, your handmaid [is] in your hand, do to her that which is good in your eyes”; and Sarai afflicted her, and she flees from her presence.
7 Pakai Vantil in gamthip Gam'a twikhuh phungkhat'a Hagar chu aga mudoh in ahi, hiche twi khuh chu Shur jotna lampia um ah ahiye.
And the Messenger of YHWH finds her by the fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way [to] Shur,
8 Pakai Vantil chun aseiye, “Hagar, Sarai sohnu hoilanga kona hungsoh doh na him? Hoilam jon ding na him?” atile Hagar in adonbut in, “Kapi nu Sarai kom'a kon ahung jam doh kahi,” ati.
and He says, “Hagar, Sarai’s handmaid, from where have you come, and to where do you go?” And she says, “From the presence of Sarai, my mistress, I am fleeing.”
9 Hichun Pakai Vantil chun amanu ahoulimpi in, “Nangma na pinu kom'a kinungle in chule amanu dan noiya nakun angaiye.”
And the Messenger of YHWH says to her, “Return to your mistress, and humble yourself under her hands”;
10 Hichun Pakai Vantil chun ahoulimpi na laiyin, “Keiman na chilhahte tamtah ka pehbe ding nahi, sim jong na sim joulou ding ahiye,” ati.
and the Messenger of YHWH says to her, “Multiplying I multiply your seed, and it is not numbered from multitude”;
11 Pakai Vantil chun ahoulimpi nalaiyin, “Tua hi nangma naovop na hitan chapa khat nahin ding, hiche naosen chu amin Ishmael nasah ding ahi. (Pathen in angailhi jing'e tina ahi), ijeh inem itile Pakaiyin na gimna chu na khongai peh tai.
and the Messenger of YHWH says to her, “Behold you [are] conceiving, and bearing a son, and have called his name Ishmael, for YHWH has listened to your affliction;
12 Chule nachapa hi mihem laha gam'a sangan lungthim bei bang ding, mitin douna akhut hinlap a chule mitin khut ama chunga hung chu ding, chuleh aphunggol jouse toh kido toa hung khosa ding ahi.”
and he is a wild-donkey man, his hand against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him—and before the face of all his brothers he dwells.”
13 Hiche jou chun Hagar in ajah a thu hin sei Pakai chu amin in asah peh in, “Nangma hi keima eimudoh a Pathen na hi,” ati. Ajeh chu amanu'n “Tahbeh monga keiman Pathen kamu a chule ama ka mu nunga ka hing'a ka um nah lai ham?” atin ahi.
And she calls the Name of YHWH who is speaking to her, “You [are], O God, my beholder”; for she said, “Even here have I looked behind my beholder?”
14 Hichun Twisam putna chu amin Beerlahairai asah tai, hichu Twikhuh hi Kadesh le Bered kikah aum ah ahiye.
Therefore has one called the well, “The well of the Living One, my beholder”; behold, between Kadesh and Bered.
15 Hichun Hagar in Abram chapa khat ahin peh tai. Hichun Abram in achapa min chu Ishmael asah tai.
And Hagar bears a son to Abram; and Abram calls the name of his son, whom Hagar has borne, Ishmael;
16 Hagar in Abram ding'a Ishmael ahin peh chun Abram chu kum som get le kum gup alhing tan ahi.
and Abram [is] a son of eighty-six years in Hagar’s bearing Ishmael to Abram.
