< Ezra 9 >
1 Hicheho jousehi akitoh chaisoh kei phat’in Juda lamkai hochu kakomah ahungun, hiti hin asei taovin ahi: “Israel mipi ho chuleh thempu holeh Levite phabep ho jeng jong hiche gamsunga cheng mipiho a konin athongdoh joupouvin ahi. Amahon Canan mite, Hit mite, Periz mite, Jebus mite, Ammon mite, Moab mite, Egypt mite leh Amor mite chonna kidah umtah ho abol taovin ahi.
Now when these things were done, the princes came near to me, saying, “The people of Israel, the priests, and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, following their abominations, even those of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
2 Ajeh chu Israel miten hiche mite numei hochu akichenpiu vin chuleh amahoa kon hin achate diuvin ji apui peh un ahi. Hijeh chun hiche kichenna a kilah toh'in namtheng hi asuboh tan ahi. Hiche chungchonna akhoh cheh khat chu lamkai holeh vaihom ho jengin jong hiche thildihlou tah kibol hi alamkai taovin ahi,” atiuvin ahi.
For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy offspring have mixed themselves with the peoples of the lands. Yes, the hand of the princes and rulers has been chief in this trespass.”
3 Hiche thuhi kajahdoh phat’in, kasangkhol kaponsil kabottel jengin, kalujang’a kon’in kasam katan lhan kabengmul jong kabotchaiyin, lungthim tongkhatah in katou lhajeng tan ahi.
When I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe, and pulled the hair out of my head and of my beard, and sat down confounded.
4 Sohchang’a hung kile hon hitobang thil dihloutah pihi ahin tohdoh jeng phat’un, Israel Pathen thusei kichatna neiho chengchu ahungun, eihung toupi taovin ahi. Hiti chun keima jong nilhah teng kilhaina phat ahunglhun tokahsen lungthim natah in thipbeh in katou jingin ahi.
Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel were assembled to me because of the trespass of the exiles; and I sat confounded until the evening offering.
5 Kilhaina phat ahung lhunphat in von kibottel pumleh lungkham puma katouna a konin kahung dingdoh jengin, kadilsun ka Pathen langa chun kakhut kadom sangin,
At the evening offering I rose up from my humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn; and I fell on my knees, and spread out my hands to the LORD my God;
6 Keima kataovin, “O ka Pathen keima jachat nan kadimtai, namai lang hin ngat ding jong kajah achatai. Ajeh chu kachonset naohi kaluchangu sangin asang jotai chuleh kathepmo naohin van ahin phatai.
and I said, “My God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to you, my God, for our iniquities have increased over our head, and our guiltiness has grown up to the heavens.
7 Kapu appa teuva pat’in tuni changeijin hiche chonsetna hin kaki phumlut jengun ahi. Hiche jeh chun keiho kahiuvin, kaleng teu ahin, chuleh kathemputeu ahin hiche gamsunga hou neilou te lengho thaneina a kalhalut ji taovin ahi. Hitia chu eina thagam jiuva, gal hinga eina mat jiuva, eichom gam jiuva tunia kadin mun banguva hi jumle jachat thoh'a kaum jitan ahi.
Since the days of our fathers we have been exceedingly guilty to this day; and for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plunder, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
8 Tuhin phat chomkhat sunghin khotona kachangun, ajeh chu Pakai ka Pathenun mi phabep khat eihinghoi sah taovin ahi. Aman hiche muntheng ahin eivengbit’un ahi. Hitihin Pathen in eihin mit hadohsah un, kasoh channauva kon hin phat chomkhat hi hailhung jouna eihin musah taovin ahi.
Now for a little moment grace has been shown from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a stake in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and revive us a little in our bondage.
9 Ajeh chu keiho sohchang kana hiuvin, ka Pathenun amingailutna akhonna beichun hiche kasoh channaova konhin eidalha den pouvin ahi. Hiche jeh chun, Persia lengpa chu khotona neitah in kachung’uvah na atohsah in ahi. Aman eihin kiledoh sah un ka Pathennu Houin hi eisem phat sah un, amangthahsa chu eisemphat sah taovin ahi. Aman Judah leh Jerusalem’ah lung mongin eichensah taovin ahi,” ati.
For we are bondservants; yet our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but has extended loving kindness to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us, to set up the house of our God, and to repair its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
10 Chuleh tun, “Vo ka Pathennu hichan neiphahsah jouvu nungsang’a hi epi kaseithei nahlai diuham? Ven avelin keihon nathupeh chu kapaidoh taovin ahi.
“Now, our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken your commandments,
11 Nasohte themgao hochun gihna thucheng hitihin eina seipeh un ahi, “Nanghon nachenpha nao gamsung hi, asunga ana cheng hon kidah umtah le thet umtah jeng chonna hoa apumpia ana suhboh sao ahi. Agam hi among langkhatna pat among langkhat geija thenlou na a dimset ahi,” atiuvin ahi.
which you have commanded by your servants the prophets, saying, ‘The land to which you go to possess is an unclean land through the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, through their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their filthiness.
12 “Achateu chu nachanu teutoh kichensah hih un! Achanu teujong nachapateu jidingin pui-peh hih un. Hiche gam mite khantouna diuleh alungmonna diuvin jong tilkhou hih uvin. Nanghon hiche thuhil hi najui uleh nahung hatdoh diu chuleh hiche gam’in ahin sepdoh gapha hochu naphat chompi diu ahi,” ati
Now therefore don’t give your daughters to their sons. Don’t take their daughters to your sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity forever, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children forever.’
13 “Tun keihohi kachonsetnao leh kabolkhel naojeh a gotna chang kahiuvin ahi. Ahinlah kachonset jeh uva kachan diuva lom sanga nemjon gotna neipeuvin, ka Pathennu nangman miphabep pihi eighing hoijun neihin kiledoh sah kit taovin ahi.
“After all that has come on us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, since you, our God, have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such a remnant,
14 Ahinlah tujengin jong keihon nathupeh hi kasukeh kit taovin, kidah umtah'a hinkho mang hotoh kichentona kanei taovin ahi. Ven nalunghan nahin eisuhmang uva khat jengcha jong hinghoi louhella neisuh gam jeng thei diudol ahi.
shall we again break your commandments, and join ourselves with the peoples that do these abominations? Wouldn’t you be angry with us until you had consumed us, so that there would be no remnant, nor any to escape?
15 Oh Israel Pakai Pathen, nanghi mi kitah nahi. Na-ang sung’ah kathemmo nao pumin kahunglut ui, hiche themmona jeh a hi keiho koimacha jong na angsunga hunglut ngamlou kahiu ahitai,” ati.
LORD, the God of Israel, you are righteous; for we are left a remnant that has escaped, as it is today. Behold, we are before you in our guiltiness; for no one can stand before you because of this.”
