< Ezekiel 20 >

1 Lengpa Jehoiachin sohchan kal kum sagi lhin kum August 14 nin, Israel lamkai ho phabep Pakaija kon thuseidoh nomin ahung uve. Amaho chu kamasanga atouvun adonbutna angah uve.
On the tenth day of the fifth month of the seventh year, some of the elders of Israel came to ask advice from the Lord, and they sat down with me.
2 Hichun Pakaija konin hiche thuhi kahenga ahung lhunge.
Then a message from the Lord came to me, saying,
3 “Mihem chapa, hichehi thaneitah Pakai thusei ahi. ‘Nanghon iti dana keima thu neidoh ngammjeng uham? Keima kahing jinge tin thaneitah Pakaiyin aseije. Keiman nangho ima seipeh pouvinge’ tin Israel lamkai ho seipeh tan.
“Son of man, tell these elders of Israel that this is what the Lord God says: Have you come to ask my advice? As I live, I'm not going to answer you, declares the Lord God.
4 Mihem chapa, amaho dounan achungchang thu kisutna chu hin podoh in lang amaho chu themmo chan temin. Apu apateu kidah um umtah'a achonset nau khu geldohsah in.
Are you going to condemn them—will you do that, son of man? Remind them about the disgusting things their forefathers did,
5 Pakaija kon hiche thu kisei hi amaho chu seipeh in. Keiman Israel kana lhen chun Egypt gam'a um Jacob chilhah ho koma keimatah kana kilah in, keima Pakai hi a Pathen u kahi ding ahi tin kitah tah in kihahsel in kana neije.
and then tell them that this is what the Lord God says: At the time I chose Israel, I held up my hand and made a solemn promise to Jacob's descendants and revealed myself to them when they were in Egypt. I held up my hand and told them, ‘I am the Lord your God.’
6 Hiche nikho mama chun keiman kitah tah in kaki hahsel in, keiman amaho chu Egypt gam'a konna kahin puidoh a amaho dinga kamudoh a kahetdoh nag am phapen, khoiju leh bongnoi lonna gam'a kapuilut ding ahi.
I promised them on that day to lead them out of Egypt and take them to a country that I had chosen for them, a land flowing with milk and honey—better than any other country.
7 Hichun keiman amaho koma kaseijin, nangho amichan cheh in nalung sungu lodimset kidah umtah milima kon chun hung potdoh'un. Egypt mite milim doi semthu a chun kisuboh hih un. Ajeh chu keima na Pathen u kahi.
I told them: ‘All of you have to get rid of your disgusting pagan images. Don't make yourselves unclean by worshiping the idols of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’
8 Ahinlah amaho kei dounan, doumah mah abol'un, kathu angai pouve. Alungsungu lodimset kidah dah um, chonsetna konna ahung kiheidoh uva, ahilouleh Egypt mite doilim semthu ho ahin dalha pouve. Hichun keiman kalung hanna suhbulhit nadinga kalungsatna nachung uva twisun a kasun lhah khum diu ahi tin kagih sal e.
But they rebelled against me and wouldn't do what I told them. None of them got rid of their disgusting pagan images, and they didn't give up worshiping the idols of Egypt. So I warned them that I would punish them in my anger there in Egypt.
9 Ahinlah ja umtah kamin huhdoh nadingin kaseisa chu kabol tapoi. Egypt gam'a kipatna Israel te kahin puidoh laiya namtin vaipi keima tah akimvel uva chengho mitmua kana kiphonna min chu jaum leh jachatna aum ding chu kana phal poi.
But I did act so I would not be misrepresented, so that I wouldn't lose respect in the eyes of the other nations living near them who had seen me reveal myself to Israel by leading them out of Egypt.
10 Hijeh chun keiman Egypt gam'a kipat in amaho chu gamthip noija kahin puidoh in,
So I led them out of Egypt and took them into the wilderness.
11 Hiche munna chun keiman kathupeh leh kachondan ho ahin theina dinguva achinghoi diuvin kanapen,
There I gave them my laws and explained to them my regulations so that those who kept them would live.
12 Chule amaho leh keima kikah kiguijop nading kacholngah nikho kanapen ahi. Keima a Pakaiju kahi a chuleh athenga aumdohna ding uva ana chomkhen pa kahi chu ahet jing theina ding uva kana peh ahi.
I also gave them my Sabbaths to be a sign between me and them, so that they would acknowledge that I am the Lord who makes them holy.
13 Ahivangin Israel miten keidou nan doumah mah abol uvin, chuleh gamthip noija chun kathupeh ho ajui nom pouve. Seingaina chun chenna apeh diu vang chun kachon dan ho juinom deh pouvin te. Kacholngah nikho jong asukeh uve. Hijeh chun kalunsatna sunlhah khum jeng din kana gihsal in, chuleh gamthip laiya chu suhmang hel jeng ding hitam tin kana gonge.
But the people of Israel rebelled against me in the desert, refusing to observe my laws and rejecting my regulations, even though they would have given them life. They violated my Sabbaths. So I warned them that I would punish them and wipe them out there in the desert.
14 Ahivangin Israelte Egypt gam'a kipatna kathahatna kahin puidoh anamu namtin vaipiho masanga kamin kijabol huhdoh nadingin, kanung tahdoh kit tai.
But I still acted for them so I would not be misrepresented, so that I wouldn't lose respect in the eyes of the other nations who had seen me lead Israel out of Egypt.
15 Ahinlah gamthip noija chun amaho dounan kihahselna dihtah kaneijin, keiman peh dinga kagotna khoiju leh bongnoi lonna gamsung leiset chunga gamhoi pen gam'a chu kapuilut louhel diu ahi tia kaki hahsel ahi.
So I held up my hand and vowed to them in the desert that I wouldn't take them into the land that I had given them, a land flowing with milk and honey—better than any other country—
16 Ijeh inem itile amahon kachondan ho anotthap un thupeh ho ajui nom pouvin, chuleh ka cholngah niho asukeh uve. Alungthim houvin amilim doi semthu hou bou agellui.
because they repeatedly rejected my regulations, refused to observe my laws, and violated my Sabbaths, and because they chose to continue worshiping idols.
17 Hijeng jongleh achung'uva lainatna kanei kit in gamthip noija suhmang ding kagotsa kahaijin, kana sumang tapoi. Beihel in jong kalha poi.
Even so I was sorry for them and I didn't destroy them; I didn't wipe them out in the desert.
18 Hitichun keiman achateu chun anu apateu khonung ajui lou diu, amilim doi semthu houva akisuhboh lou diu kadeije.
I told their children in the desert: ‘Don't do what your fathers told you to do. Don't follow their practices. Don't make yourselves unclean by worshiping their idols.
19 Keima na Pakai na Pathen u kahi, kathupeh ho nit uvin lang, kachondan ho lunglut tah in jui uvin.
I am the Lord your God. Do what I tell you to do. Follow my regulations and make sure to practice them.
20 Chuleh ka cholngah niho athengin koi uvin, ajeh chu hiche hi nang le keima Pakai na Pathen u toh ikiguijop nau melchihna ahi tin kaseipeh uve.
Keep my Sabbaths holy so they may be a sign between me and you, so that you may acknowledge that I am the Lord your God.’
21 Ahivangin lah achate hou jengin keidounan doumah abol'uve. Amahon sei angai uva ahileh ahinpi diu ahijeng vang'in ajui nom pouve. Chuleh amahon ka cholngah niho asukeh kit uve. Hijeh chun kalungsatna hi gamthip noija twisuna kasun lhah khum diu nahi tin kagihsal kit e.
But their children also rebelled against me. They didn't follow my laws and didn't keep my regulations, even though they would have given them life. They violated my Sabbaths. So I warned them that I would punish them in my anger there in the desert.
22 Hijeng ta jongle kathahat sanna Egypt gam'a konna kahin mu a namtin vaipi ho masanga kamin kijabolna venbit nadingin suhmang dinga kana gotsa kanung lahdoh kit tai.
But I held back and did what I did so I would not be misrepresented, so that I wouldn't lose respect in the eyes of the other nations who had seen me lead Israel out of Egypt.
23 Ahinlah gamthip noija chun amaho dounan amahohi namtin vaipi ho lah a kathethang ding ahi tin kihahselna dettah in kabol e.
However, I held up my hand and vowed to them in the desert that I was going to scatter them among the various countries of different nations.
24 Amahon keima chondan ajui nom pouve. Amahon kathupeh ho deimo vetsahnan kacholngah nikho ho asukeh uve. Chuleh aputeu apateu milim doi semthu ho bou chu angaicha jing uve.
For they didn't keep my regulations, instead they rejected my laws and violated my Sabbaths, always looking to worship their fathers' idols.
25 Keiman amaho chunga chun hinna a apuilou diu thupeh ho leh chondan hi kapen ahi.
I also let them follow the regulations they wanted that weren't good; laws that wouldn't help them live.
26 Keiman thilpeh a kapeh ho tah chun amaho leh amaho kisuboh tauvinte katin chuleh a Pathen hou govam thilto a ato diuvin achapa peng masa pen hou govam dingin kaphal peh uve. Hijeh chun amaho kasuhmang theina dingleh keima changseh hi Pakai kahi chu ahetdoh theina dinguva hiche hi kapeh ahi.
I let them make themselves unclean by their offerings to idols, including their firstborn sons. I allowed this to happen so that they would be so appalled that they would acknowledge that I am the Lord.
27 Hijeh chun mihem chapa thaneitah Pakaija kon hiche thu Israel mipite chu pen. Napu napateuvin eina taitom un, chuleh mikhutna eina pedoh uve.
So, son of man, tell the people of Israel that this is what the Lord God says: You're acting in exactly the same way your forefathers insulted me by being unfaithful to me.
28 Keiman amohpeh dinga kaki hahselna sa gamsunga kahin puilut phat in amahon molsang sang lai jouse leh thingna engnoi tin amudoh jouseu kithoina govam thilto atoh uve. Amilim doi semthu ho govam thilto ahouvu chun kalungsatna chu asuthou bebe jeng uve. Amahon gim namtwi leh thao namtwi ho chu ahinchoi jun hicheho houva chun aasunglha lha jenguve.
After I led them into the land that I had promised to give them, on any high hill or under any leafy tree they saw there they offered their pagan sacrifices and presented offerings to idols that made me angry, burning their sweet-smelling incense and pouring out their drink offerings.
29 Keiman nachennau munsang ho chu ipi kiti ham tia amaho koma kasei jeh chun (pathen tahsan louho muntheng chu tuni chan geijin Bamah munsang akitin ahi)
So I asked them: ‘What's this high place you're going to?’ (Even today it's still called Bamah.)
30 Hiijeh chun Israel mite chu thaneitah Pakaija kon hiche thuhi pen. Napu napa teuvin anabol bang banguva chu nangho leh nangho kisuboh dinga nakigot uham? Kidah umtah milim doiho houna a chu nangho leh nangho noti chonna chon jeng dinga nakigel jeng nahlai uham?
Therefore tell the people of Israel that this is what the Lord God says: Are you going to make yourselves unclean like your forefathers, turning yourselves into prostitutes, acting the way they did with the same disgusting practices?
31 Ajeh chu nachateu govam thilto dinga nachateu neucha chaho amaho thilpeh a napeh jing jeh uva chu tuni chan gei namilim doi semthu uva chu nakisuhboh jengu ahin, achutile keima komma thu neidoh diu chu kaphal peh diu hinam? O Israle mite! Keima kahin laisen imacha naseipeh pouvinge tin thaneitah Pakaiyin aseije.
When you present your offerings to idols and sacrifice your children in the fire, you continue to make yourselves unclean with all your idols right up until now. So should I give you advice when you ask me, people of Israel? As I live, declares the Lord God, I'm not going to answer you!
32 Nanghon akimvel uva namtin vaipiho thingle songa kisem milim doi houho bangin um uhite tin nasei uve. Ahivangin nalung uva nagel u chu hithei louhel ding ahi.
When you say to yourselves, ‘Let's be like the other nations, like people in other countries who worship idols made of wood and stone,’ what you're thinking is never going to happen.
33 Tahbeh mongin keima kahing jinge tin thaneitah Pakaiyin aseije. Keiman kalung hanna nasatah a nachunga thih khuttuma leh kichat tijatna thahattah'a vai kahin hom khum ding nahi.
As I live, declares the Lord God, I will rule you with all my strength and power, and in my anger.
34 Chuleh lunghang tah a kakhut thahattah leh kaban jang thahattah kahin lhan doh ding chu nakithe cheh nau gamho a konna kahin le puikhom kit ding nahiuve.
With all my strength and power, and in my anger, I will lead you out from among the nations and gather you from the countries where you were scattered.
35 Keiman namtin vaipi ho gamthip noija kahin puilutna chuleh hiche munna chu kimaito a nathu katan ding ahi.
I will bring you before me for judgment face to face in the desert of the nations.
36 Egypt gam'a konna napu napateu kahin puidoh nunga gamthip noija athu katan banga chu hiche lau munna chu nathu katan ding ahi tin thaneitah Pakaiyin aseije.
In the same way I judged your forefathers in the Egyptian desert after I'd led them out of Egypt, so I will judge you, declares the Lord God.
37 Keiman nang chingthei tah a kavet chil uva chuleh kitepna dungjuija katuh dingu nahi.
I will decide about you as you pass under the rod and see if you kept our solemn agreement.
38 Doumah bolho leh kei douna galbol ho jouse nalah uva konna kasuh theng dingu ahi. Keiman amaho chu akisol mang nau gam'a konna kahin puikit uva, ahivanga amaho chu Israel gam lut louhel diu ahi. Hitia chu nanghon keima Pakai kahi chu nahet doh dingu ahi.
I will get rid of those of you who rebel against me, those who sin against me. I will lead them out of the country where they're currently living, but they won't enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
39 O Israel mite, nangho dinga thaneitah Pakai thusei chu hiche hi ahi. Amasanga khun che inlang, chuleh namilim doi semthu ho chu gahou kit tan. Ahivangin agang ham agei ham le nangin kathu nangaija chule namilim doi houva kamintheng suhboh nangah dingu ahitai.
This is what the Lord God says to you, you people of Israel: All of you, go ahead and worship your idols. But after that if you don't listen to me you won't continue to disgrace me with your pagan offerings and idols.
40 Ajeh chu keima molsang theng leh Israel mol thupi ho chunga chu nikho khat teng chule Israel miten eihin hou dingu, chuleh keiman amaho chu kakisan diu ahi tin thaneitah Pakaiyin aseije. Hiche munna chu nanghon nathilto ho jouseu leh deilhen thilpeh chu kilhaina ho chu nahin ngeh ding ahi.
For there on my holy mountain, Israel's high mountain, declares the Lord God, every single person in the whole country of Israel will worship me. That's where I'll accept them and will ask for your offerings and your best gifts, together with all your holy sacrifices.
41 Nakisol mang nauva konna in na kahin puilhung teng uleh keija dinga kilhaina lunglhai umtah chu nahi diu ahi. Chutia chu namtin vaipi ho vet ding nangho a chu kathenna kaphon doh ding ahi.
When I bring you back from the nations and gather you from countries where you were scattered, I will accept you as a suitable offering to me. I will reveal my holiness through you so the nations can see.
42 Hitia chu keiman napu napa teu koma peh dinga tahsan tah a kaki hahsella kaki tepna gamsung a in uva kahin lut tengu leh nang hon keima hi Pakai kahi ti neihet dingu ahi.
Then you will acknowledge that I am the Lord when I bring you back to the country of Israel, the land that I promised to give your forefathers.
43 Nanghon nahole nangho nakisuhboh nau lampi ho chu nanung vet uva chule nathilse boljeh uva nangho leh nangho jong nakideimo dingu ahi.
That's where you will remember your bad ways and everything you've done to make yourselves unclean, and you will hate yourselves for the evil things you did.
44 O Israel mite, nangho nagitlouna dungjui hilouva kamin jabolna jal'a ngailutna lhingsetna kagihsal uleh nanghon keima hi Pakai kahi ti nahin hetdoh dingu ahi, tin thaneitah Pakaiyin anaseije.
Then you people of Israel will acknowledge that I am the Lord, because I have treated you well because of who I am, and not because of your evil ways and terrible things you've done, declares the Lord God.”
45 Hiti chun Pakaija konin hiche thuseihi kahenga ahung lhunge.
Another message from the Lord came to me, saying,
46 Mihem chapa kiheiyin lang lhanglang khu namai ngait inlang chule amaho dounan thuseijin: Negev gammang dounan gaothu seijin.
“Son of man, face towards the south and preach against it. Prophesy against the forest of the Negev.
47 Lhanglang sang gamthip jah a khun seipeh in, ‘hichehi thaneitah Pakai thusei ahi; Pakai thusei hi ngaijuvin! Keiman mei kahin halla chule thingphung jouse chu a-eng hihen ago hijongleh ania kavam soh ding ahi. Tijat umtah ameikou chu kisumit pontin, lhanglang sanga patna sahlang sang chan a kagop ding ahi.
Tell the forest of the Negev: Listen to the word of the Lord! This is what the Lord God says: I am going to set you on fire, and it will burn up all your trees, both those that are living and those that are dead. The blaze won't be put out, and everything from the north to the south will be burned.
48 Chutia chu vannoi leisetna mijousen hiche mei chu keima hal ahi ti amu cheh diu ahin, kiphel mit joulou ding ahi.
Then everyone will recognize that it was me, the Lord, who started the fire, and it won't be put out.”
49 Hichun keiman, O thaneitah Pakai! Aman thuchih jengin thu aseije, tin kajah a aseijuve katin ahi.
But then I said, “Oh no, Lord God! People already say, ‘He's just telling stories!’”
