1 Israel miten Egypt gamsung ahin dalhah kalseo lhani lhin'in Sinai mun gamthip ahung lhung atovin ahi.
In the third month, on the same day of the month that the Israelites had left the land of Egypt, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai.
2 Rephidim ngahmun ahin sukeh un ahin dalha tauvin, chuin Sinai mun'na ngahmun a kisem uvin hichu Sinai ngahmun tin aminsah uve.
After they had set out from Rephidim, they entered the Wilderness of Sinai, and Israel camped there in front of the mountain.
3 Mose molchung lam akaltou tan Pakai toh agakimu ton ahile, Pakaiyin molchung'a kon'in ahin kouvin aseije, “Thupeh hicheng hi; Jacob insung le Israel mite heng'a seipeh tauvin:
Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, “This is what you are to tell the house of Jacob and explain to the sons of Israel:
4 “Egypt mite chung'a ipiti lamdolla na katoh, nang hon na musoh kei uve. Keiman nangho muvan lai lhaving'a ka hin pui uve ti namu chenset tauvin ahi.”
‘You have seen for yourselves what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.
5 Chule tua hi kathu nangai uva kakitepna nakoi jing uva ahileh, nangho hi vannoi mite jouse lah'a keima dia atumbeh'a naum diu; ajeh chu vannoi leiset pumpi hi keima'a ahi.”
Now if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, you will be My treasured possession out of all the nations—for the whole earth is Mine.
6 “Chule keima lenggam machu nangho naleng chan diu, kagam theng nalo ding'u ahi. Hiche thuhi nangman Israel mite heng'a naseipeh teiding ahi,” ati.
And unto Me you shall be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to speak to the Israelites.”
7 Chuin Mose molchung akon'in akumsuh'in Israel sung'a upa ho akou khom'in Pakaiyin a thupeh chengse abonchan a seipeh soh kei uve.
So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the LORD had commanded him.
8 Chuin amahon adonbut cheh uvin, “Ijakai Pakai thupeh bang'a keihon kabol diu ahi,” atiuve.
And all the people answered together, “We will do everything that the LORD has spoken.” So Moses brought their words back to the LORD.
9 Chuin Pakaiyin Mose heng'a aseijin, “Keima naheng'a meilhang kiheh bang'a kahung ding, Nangma Mose kahin houpi teng Israel miten ajah cheh diu, chuteng amahon jong nangma nahin tahsan jing diu ahitai,” ati. Mose'n jong Israel miten adonbut'na chu Pakai heng'a aseijin ahi.
The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear when I speak with you, and they will always put their trust in you.” And Moses relayed to the LORD what the people had said.
10 Chuin Pakajin Mose heng'a asei in, “Kumsuh inlang keima kahung nading'in Israel mite gongtup tan, tuni le jing nikhoa din seipeh uvin chule avon jeng u-jong kisop theng cheh u-hen,” ati.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. They must wash their clothes
11 “Nithum lhin'nia ding'in kigontup sah soh kei uvin, nithum lhin niteng a mitmu tah uva Pakai chu Sinai Mol chung'a pat hung kumlha ding ahi tipeh'un,” ati.
and be prepared by the third day, for on the third day the LORD will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.
12 “Mipiho abonchauvin akimvel'uva melchih'na sempeh'in lang, seijin, kichih thei un! Koima molchung lam'a kaldoh hih hel'un chule akim vellah jeng jong koiman natham khah theilou diunahi. Koi hile molchung tham khachan chu thi jeng ding ahi,” ati.
And you are to set up a boundary for the people around the mountain and tell them, ‘Be careful not to go up on the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.
13 “Melchihna pal kallhah khut kiti phot'in atohkhah'a ahile, hichejeh'a chu; song'a selih jeng ding, ahilou jong le, thalpi'a kap lih ding gancha hihen mihem hile hitabang'a chonchu ahing'a kiumsah ngailou ding ahi, tin seipeh un. Sumkon ahung kimut gin apat mipi jong molchung lam'a hung kitol diu ahiye.”
No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with arrows—whether man or beast, he must not live.’ Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast may they approach the mountain.”
14 Mose'n jong mipi lam chu ahin jonsuh tan. Aman mipi thenso'na anei jin, mipihon jong ama ama von cheh akisop theng uvin ahi.
When Moses came down from the mountain to the people, he consecrated them, and they washed their clothes.
15 Aman mipi heng'a asei jin, Nithum lhin nia ding in ki gotup cheh uvin chule numei angsung ki tiajong na lut louhel ding'u ahi,” ati.
“Be prepared for the third day,” he said to the people. “Do not draw near to a woman.”
16 Nithum lhin'ni jingkah khovah lam'in vahthamjol aki thing'in kolphe avah in, molchung vum chu meilhang'in atom lha jeng tan ahi. Sumkon hatah'in ahung ging tan ahile, ngahmun sung lam'a um mipi abonchauvin akicha lheh jeng tauve.
On the third day, when morning came, there was thunder and lightning. A thick cloud was upon the mountain, and a very loud blast of the ram’s horn went out, so that all the people in the camp trembled.
17 Mose'n jong mipi abonchan Pathen toh kimaito ding'in ahin pui uvin, chuin mipi abonchauvin molchung kipatna lam'a chun adding den gam tauve.
Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
18 Sinai molchung akon in Pakai chu meikong'in ahung kum lhan ahile, lhum sung'a kon'na meikhu bang'in ahung khudoh'in ahintomlha jeng tan, ling jong akihot lha jeng'in ahi.
Mount Sinai was completely enveloped in smoke, because the LORD had descended on it in fire. And the smoke rose like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently.
19 Sumkon gin chu ahat cheh cheh jeng tan ahile, Mose jong akipat'in hiti hin aseije, van gin kithong lah akon'in Pathen'in ahin houpin ahi.
And as the sound of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him in the thunder.
20 Pakai chu Sinai molchung vum'a kon'in ahung kumsuh tan chuin, Molchung vum'a kon'in Pakaiyin Mose ahin kouvin ahi. Mose jong akipatdoh'in molchung lam'a chun akal touvin ahi.
The LORD descended to the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the summit. So Moses went up,
21 Pakaiyin Mose heng'a asei in, “Kumsuh inlang mipi heng'a seipeh loijin, ajeh chu Pakai ahinmu nomuva pal kigen khu ahin tumlhah ngai uva ahile thigam bep ding'u ahiye,” ati.
and the LORD said to him, “Go down and warn the people not to break through to see the LORD, lest many of them perish.
22 Chule thempu ho jeng jong atahsao amacheh kithenso uva eihin nailut thei diu bou ahi. Chutile Pakaiyin amaho lam pal chu atumkeh lou ding ahi, ati.
Even the priests who approach the LORD must consecrate themselves, or the LORD will break out against them.”
23 Mose'n jong Pakai heng'a aseijin, ahinlah Pakai in, mipi abonchauva Sinai molchung'a hung kal theilou diu ahi. Ajeh chu nangma thupeh bang'a molchung kimvella pal gen uvin, tia nei thupeh sa'u ahiye, ati.
But Moses said to the LORD, “The people cannot come up Mount Sinai, for You solemnly warned us, ‘Put a boundary around the mountain and set it apart as holy.’”
24 Ahinlah Pakaiyin Mose heng'a aseiyin. “Chesuh inlang Aaron gakipuiyin lang hinki lhon pitan. Amavang mipi abonchauvin thupeh neijin lang khat cha jeng jong paltum keh'a Pakai lam'a hung theilou ding'u ahiye,” ati.
And the LORD replied, “Go down and bring Aaron with you. But the priests and the people must not break through to come up to the LORD, or He will break out against them.”
25 Pakajin athupeh bang in Mose achesuh in mipi ho heng'a aga seipeh soh kei uve.
So Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.
